Athens Running Company is the only locally owned and non-​franchised running/​walking store in the Athens, GA area. We specialize in fitting shoes using video gait analysis. When a customer comes in asking about shoes we follow a fit process to guarantee the best shoe for each individual. First we talk to the customer and figure out their needs and wants. Then we film them running or walking on a treadmill to look at how their body moves. Then we bring out a spread of shoes from multiple brands that we know are good for that person. The fit process is free and no appointment is necessary.

History

Established in 2010.

Athens Running Company was opened in 2010 by two best friends passionate about helping others learn to love the sport of running. We have moved several times but are now located in the heart of Five Points on the corner of Milledge Ave and Lumpkin St. We are a true local business started by people who live in and love the city of Athens. We are not a franchise nor a corporate entity.

Athens Running Company was started by and owned by Mark Schroeder. He is passionate about all sports but especially loves the challenges and benefits that running has to offer. To him their is nothing more rewarding than helping someone who has never ran a day in their life find the right shoes, and help them learn to love the sport of running.
