Founded in 1981, Atco Christian has been providing a preschool program for 2.5 to 5 year old children in the South Jersey area for over 25 years. Our program is based on an ecumenical Christian curriculum and atmosphere, rooted in Biblical principles and ethics, which include daily prayer and Bible reading.

Our curriculum centers on positive social skills. Our teachers focus on facilitating social/​emotional development including a sense of self, responsibility, and pro-​social behavior. Daily routines include reinforcing name recognition, as well as focusing on the enrichments of music, art, and science. Christian values are introduced and reinforced with Bible stories and weekly visits from our Pastor. We believe learning also involves active firsthand experiences and that play is a child’s natural way of learning. Center time allows the kids to make decisions and choices on their own. Our goal in the class is for each child to experience that they are loved, valued, and enjoyed.

Our preschool is a non-​profit division of the Atco United Methodist Church.

Meet the Manager

Linda S.

Manager

Linda & her family have lived in Atco for over 30 years. Her career with Atco Christian started when her children were in grade school and she volunteered as a substitute. She then became a full-​time teacher in one of the classes, which continued for several years. Linda was then promoted to Director about 13 years ago.
