We specialize in Authentic Hawaiian Shave Ice.

Our ice is made by shaving a block of ice to make it smooth, not crunchy. So there is flavor with every bite. Not just at the bottom.

We offer premium Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream as an addition at the bottom of your Shave Ice.

We make our own syrup and get our concentrates direct from Hawaii.

We mostly do events and parties and don’t currently have a set location.

History

Established in 2013.

In 2012 we visited Hawaii and fell in love with their Shave Ice. At that time, there weren’t any other businesses in SLO County that offered this yummy treat.

We came home and started brainstorming and doing a lot of research to build our business based on the true Hawaiian Style that you get on the islands.

Big Al is the nickname of my late sister, Alyssa who died at the young age of 14. She was the last of 4 girls so our dad started calling her Big Al. So it seemed fitting to name our business after her so others would get to know her story.
