I showed my dad the list of services that Sunset Honda said I needed. The only thing I knew for sure is that I needed new tires ASAP. My dad immediately went over to American West Tire Pros to schedule an appointment for me to get a new set of tires and to check out the list of services that were highly recommended by Sunset Honda. I ended up saving $ 140 for the tire change. They checked out my car for the other services that I so desperately needed and determined that my car was safe with no additional services needed! They were fast, friendly, and HONEST.

Came here to get my tire fix, my tire light was coming on spoke to Matt & Mike when I came in. Both were very helpful and very knowledgeable I’m new to the area and it was perfect to find this place I was going to need 4 tires on my 2013 Toyota RAV4 AWD and asked for an estimates on the replacement, gave me a very nice price about about $ 800 for 4 tires, mount and balance and alignment check. Wow I was expecting about $ 900++since my RAV4 came with Michelin tires. Oh yah did not charge me for tire repair. I was very surprise. Definitely going to get my tires here. All I have to say is I highly RECOMMEND this place. Especially if you’re new in town or just passing by and needing tire help.

I bought 6 tires here today and was not disappointed. I like their up-​front «out the door» personalized price quotations which have been competitive. My only complaint about them is that you may need to call to receive your quote from their on-​line quote system. American West Tire Pros has consistently earned my trust and business since I moved to Atascadero 7 years ago. While not perfect, they have consistently taken the time to answer all of my questions and address any concerns. My experience has been that if a mistake happened, they have voluntarily communicated with me and made things right. It’s typically quite busy there and you may need to stand in line for a few minutes, but it’s worth the wait. A couple of years ago I happened to see some friends getting their tires there (when I was picking up my car after free tire rotation) and we all agreed that this is the best place to get tires.

My teenage son took his car in to have the brakes /​rotors checked & fixed because the ABS light was on. He hired them to do the work, paid for it and left satisfied until he noticed the ABS light was still on. He returned the car so they could check their work (kind of the equivalent of his brakes still squeaking. just making sure, you know). It turns out he has a faulty sensor (separate problem) and was charged $ 90 for the diagnostic. He had no idea they would charge him to check their work. It would be reasonable for them to charge him to fix the separate problem, but not for making sure the first job was done well. When we complained they called back to offer a discount on the repair of the sensor (nice gesture) — but would not budge on the diagnostic /​checking their work. I’d categorize this as unreasonable since he was unaware he was incurring the charge for them to check their work on the original issue. I’d steer clear as they were not willing to budge on their miscommunication and lack of taking responsibility for checking their work. As you can see, I rarely give a poor rating — and am bummed because they’ve been great up until now and my entire extended family uses them often.
UPDATE: Upon further review — They called me back today and offered to refund for the diagnostic. I’d say that took a lot of class to re-​think it and I’ve regained my admiration for them. that’s for certain.

I’ve had a number of things done including new tires and airbags for a 35 foot class A motorhome, new tires for my ¾ ton truck, new tires for my wife’s car and my daughters car, as well as my son’s and the miscellaneous maintenance jobs he’s had them do, a coolant flush, transmission flush, brake work, etc. I am glad to say that the customer service is great, the work done on our vehicles has been professional, the prices are competitive. They stand behind their work too! It’s a pleasure to have this shop in our town.

These people are the best! They are friendly, helpful, and above all HONEST! As a person who knows little about cars, it gives me peace of mind to know that they will never recommend work unless it really needs to be done and then the work is done to perfection. Jason worked with the auto body and insurance companies to make sure they treated me fairly. I recommend this shop highly to anyone needing tires or maintenance work done on their car. You won’t be sorry! PS: Get road hazard insurance on your tires, it is so worth it!

My mom bought a set of tires there a few months ago. When we discovered something stuck in the tire, we went back to have it looked at. They fixed it, free of charge. And they did it with a smile.

Would not go there again, took my Lexus in there and had them place the high end Michelin primacy tires on it. Within one day my hubcaps were falling off and had not had any problems prior to that with the hubcaps. Brought it to their attention and they took pictures and suggested they would try and find some caps at cost, never heard back from them. Now I’m in for $ 500 worth of Lexus hubcaps. Low-​quality technicians.

I have been going here for the past few years. They have great customer service and good prices. They are very knowledgeable and let you know what needs to be fixed right away and what can wait. I not only trust them with my tire needs, but with my brake services as well.

Got a flat tire at midnight and was towed there. Came back when they opened in the morning around 8:15. No hassle, they changed and gave me a new tire on my prius for $ 75 in fifteen minutes. They also filled the air in my other flat-​ish tire. On top of that, all warm customer service, smiles and jokes. A lovely comforting hassle-​free experience.

Always bring my car here for brakes and tires. So honest. Thought I needed my brakes done so I brought it in. 20 minutes later the guy told me all I needed was my routers resurfaced but my brakes were still good. Saved me over $ 100.
Being female I always get the run around with mechanics but definitely confident taking my vehicle here. Good old fashioned honest business. They deserve more stars.

Family of Five drivers with lots of cars and we have been going to American West Tire Pros for almost 20 years. Would not go anywhere else for tires, oil changes and brakes. Honest as they come — really fair prices and fast! I have had out of town family go there and they were treated royally (sister got an expensive tire for her Mercedes overnight delivered and it cost almost half of the price charged in San Diego), my parents were driving through the area and they put new tires on their motor home because it was so fast and easy but more importantly to my dad — great prices. This place runs like a well oiled machine and the wit is always over flowing making waiting on your car a pleasant experience… they just need to offer Starbucks and this lady would really be happy!

Hands down the best place in the North County to get your tires and suspension repairs. Mike and Greg go out of their way to give you the best price an service possible. We have been going there for years and have never been disappointed.

Open on holidays! Cool! — I need all four shoes on my Prius replaced and these guys were easy to deal with, friendly, on time and on budget. So what more can I say about a tire company! Only that it is currently the best shot in town.

The best tire service around on the Central Coast goes to American West and it is not even close.
For some odd reason, two screws embedded themselves on separate occasions within a three week period. Both times I took my car to American West. They only charged me $ 10 for a quick patch job that was fixed within the hour, plus checked the tire pressure on all of the remaining wheels.
American West also had some of the best prices for replacement tires, of which I purchased a set of four just prior to moving to Illinois. The staff there has been really friendly, they have plenty of magazines to read while in the lobby and fresh complementary coffee while your car is serviced.
