Zend Avesta Pilates is a service oriented pilates center that provides personalized attention in group apparatus classes on the Reformer, Tower, and Chair. Class size ranges from 4 to 8 students, depending on your pilates fitness level. For the quiet minded more independent practitioner, private training is also available in our separate boutique pilates studio.
Please note that when group classes are not in session, we may be servicing private clients. We want to make sure we are available to you, therefore it is recommended to call ahead before dropping in. We want to make the process as simple as possible and personally scheduling any private sessions and or consultations will ensure our availability. Please call or fill out a contact form on our website.
History
Established in 2014.
Zend Avesta Pilates is formerly known as 27th Street Pilates. We have been spreading the benefits of pilates amongst the Astoria Ditmars community since 2006. Started as a private training studio we grew to see the need for pilates to become more accessible to a broader range of the population. With the addition of our newly constructed facility we have expanded our services to accommodate a variety of group apparatus classes. Students can choose from a series of classes designed to utilize one piece of apparatus or a combination of apparatus within a single class. Essentially we have brought the «private session» to a small group at an affordable rate. We are a studio that students can grow with as they learn to incorporate pilates within their lifestyle. Our goals are to continue spreading the benefits of pilates by providing expert instruction in a beautiful state of the art facility. Individual instruction remains available in our boutique private studio.
Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner
I am Polestar Pilates Studio and Mat Certified. I have been a believer in Pilates since 1999, when it was first introduced to me on a mat in a local gym. Many times when I put someone on the reformer and within 5 seconds of movement they smile, and say «I love this» I am reminded of that very first time I did pilates. There is great meaning and truth to how and why I decided to study Pilates and have created a passion for bringing it to the general public. My life and interest in fitness continues to evolve since that time. I believe that people and things present themselves to us at times that we need them most. My story speaks to many and I love to share it… personally. Chances are if you’ve made it this far in your pilates search, it’s your time to give it a try! If you don’t like it, at least you can say you tried!
