I couldn’t be happier with Judy’s services. She has cat sat for me on several occasions. During each visit, she sends a very detailed text on how my cat, Layla, is doing and often includes a picture as well. This is very reassuring when I’m away! And I always come home to a happy, well-​cared for kitty. Judy herself is a pleasure to work with and always responds promptly to emails and texts. Would definitely recommend her services!

She takes care of our cats every time we go on vacation, which is quite often. She feeds them, plays for an hour and sends pictures and/​or videos everyday.

Judy’s genuine care and passion for animals is evident upon your first interaction. She is more than willing to answer any of your questions or concerns immediately. What’s best however, is to see the interaction our dog shares with Judy. Our dog constantly wants to be around Judy and any time we pass her door, our dog always stops to say hello.

Judy has been my dog walker for the last two years and we would not be able to live without her services.

Judy has been the dog walker for my Boston Terrier, Hank, for the past year and a half and I have nothing but great things to say about her. She is professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, accommodating, and compassionate. She has gone above and beyond for Hank and I. She is easy to get in contact with and sends updates when she is coming and going from walking Hank. She individualizes her care for Hank and clearly cares about all the dogs she looks after. My dog loves her and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

I’m writing an update because we recently went out of town on an extended vacation and I couldn’t be happier with Woofs ‘n Purrs. I was worried that our dog would have anxiety about us not being home for so long. But Judy assured us that since she’d be taking care of him for more than just the usual 2 – 3 days that she’d take special care of him, being sensitive to the fact that he may be stressed because of our absence. We were on the other side of the world, in Japan, and although I missed our boy I was never worried about him because Judy sent us pictures and videos every day showing us how much fun he was having. When we returned home, he was happy-​go-​lucky as usual. Almost like he didn’t even miss us!
Boarding my dog has never been an option for me. We adopted him from a shelter and I would never want to stir up those memories for him again. I’m grateful that I was able to find a pet caretaker that can accommodate our dog-​sitting needs in our own home no matter how short or long our vacations are. But I’m even luckier to have found a caretaker that is so loving and passionate about her animal clients. I highly recommend calling Judy, your pet will thank you :)

My dog Petey and I recently moved to the neighborhood last fall. After the move Petey became anxious and just not himself. He seemed scared of almost everything and chewed up a lot of our belongings as soon as I would leave the house. I had noticed flyers around the neighborhood for Woof ‘n Purrs and was already considering contacting Judy, when one Saturday while walking Petey she approached us and Petey immediately fell in love.
Judy has worked with Petey and his anxiety has completely disappeared. Judy makes sure that he gets the most out of every walk. He is much more sociable and has tons of new friends in the neighborhood. I joke with my friends and family all the time, saying he has a better social life than myself!
I have had previous walkers in the past, I can honestly say this is the only time I am completely at ease going to work because I know Judy has my dogs best interest at heart and i can trust her 100%. She sends me detailed texts letting me know how his walk was and I even get pictures and videos of some fun adventures they go on :)
Not only does she love the animals but she is completely professional, organized and extremely educated on pet behavior, training methods and products that may benefit your dog (food, toys, treats, health, etc.).
Petey is also a lot friendlier around other animals. I have hired trainer after trainer and no one has been able to accomplish that!
I consider Judy one of the best dog walkers I have encountered and also a great new friend since moving to the neighborhood. Petey also gives her two paws up!

Judy has a 6^th sense with dogs. Just the kind of thing you feel. She started me on a journey with my dog who is leash reactive. She had experience on a personal level and knew how to guide me. She has very high standards which should be expected. Judy treats each dog as an individual and the personal attention, compassion and knowledge she has goes a long way!

I want to update my last review, which was two and a half years ago.
Since that time, my dog under Judy’s care has continued to be amazing. She is a rescue who was once afraid of most dogs and even some people. She was also scared of skateboards and walking under the train on 31^st street in Astoria. No more. Now, she’s at the point where she will walk with other dogs. And, with smaller dogs/​puppies, she is so comfortable and patient with them that it’s almost as if she has motherly instincts.
This is all because of Judy’s care. Judy brings an element of humanity to this job that a lot of dog walkers don’t. To some dog walkers, putting a leash on an animal is just a job. The dog gets no interaction with the person. It’s a robotic experience. To Judy, connecting with an animal on a personal level is a must. There are zero short cuts with her. She puts everything she has into it and truly, truly loves her animals.
The obvious part of Judy’s work is how happy my dog is with her. But what’s just as wonderful is how happy Judy is to be with my dog. and others. Words can’t describe how comforting that is for a pet parent. I could not recommend her more or speak more highly of her.

Judy is the best dog care taker ever. I hired her for two weeks to come twice a day because I was out of town every day till late for business and after one week my dog was so well behaved. After two weeks he was like a new dog. He now actually listens and obeys us!!! She also gave me great tips on feeding and how to control my dog better. I recommend you have Judy take care of your dog, you won’t regret it.

If you want someone who TRULY cares about the well-​being of your furry friend, then I would strongly recommend Judy. You can tell she absolutely puts her whole heart into her business and lots of love into her four-​legged friends!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Judy and woofs ‘n purrs. It’s been almost 3 years since Judy came into mine and Bailey’s life and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her care and attention. When Judy first started with Bailey, a rescue lab/​boxer mix, she was still having issues walking on a leash, walking for an extended period of time and I so still keeping her crated during the day in between walks. She would chew anything in site! After a few months Judy helped convince me that we could together train her to not be crated during the day. Judy was relentless going back to the apartment 4 and 5 times a day checking on Bailey and reassuring her good behavior with love, hugs and attention. It didn’t take long before Bailey was well behaved and out on her own in the apartment all day. No more crates! We couldn’t have done it without Judy.
Judy is an amazing loving caring woman who really cares for your pets. She puts them first and makes them feel secure and loved. She is always willing to jump in and help at the last minute with walks or boarding. I travel quite a bit for work and was always apprehensive about leaving my baby. That all changed when Judy came into our lives. She reassured me bailey was well looked after and probably got more attention while I was away. Judy would send texts, pictures and video, but more than anything when I got home I found a loving peaceful puppy who is as happy to be with Judy as she is with me.
Judy has her out on long walks now after a very stubborn few months where Bailey would sometimes refuse to walk more than 2 blocks. When you have a stubborn 80lbs dog who refuses to walk its difficult to change her mind, but with Judy’s relentless patience bailey is out for up to 45 minutes and longer at times.
Judy was a godsend and I would recommend her services to anyone looking for a woman who truly cares for your pets!!!

I have nothing BUT amazing things to say about Judy at Woofs ‘n Purrs. When I met Judy, it was purely by coincidence as I was walking my dog. I am SO grateful we did though because she has truly changed both of our lives! My dog is a 2 ½ year old rescue pitbull mix and was having «issues» with other dogs. She would be fine as we walked passed other dogs on leash but when a dog came too close, she would bark/​growl and scare both the other dog and owner. This happened continually and I ultimately developed a fear of taking my dog around other dogs. I then decided to hire a trainer– and though that trainer helped teach my dog commands– they absolutely did not get to the core of her «dog on dog» issues.
When I met Judy, I had one session left with the other trainer and I really felt defeated and frustrated. After speaking with Judy, it was like a door opened up and I had hope again. We decided to meet for a training session and I can honestly say after JUST ONE SESSION, my dog and I were both changed dramatically! Judy immediately sensed my nervousness and emphasized the importance of giving my dog a calm and relaxed energy. Judy helped me realize that my dog was feeding off my nervous energy and was reacting in a non friendly way as a result. I was so scared to approach other dogs while my dog was on leash but Judy took the leash and did it as I stood back and freaked out. Lo and behold, my dog did NOT react to the other dog and it was at that moment that I realized just how important my energy was. Since that day, I can honesty say my dog and I have changed drastically. I only give positive reinforcement and walk calmly and leisurely. I am no longer scared to approach other dogs and I am so proud and relieved to say, there have been no more issues! Judy truly understands the bond/​relationship between dog and owner and makes you feel comfortable from the moment you begin working with her. If my dog and I didn’t meet Judy, I have no idea where we would be today. We are both so much more confident and relaxed and it is all because of Judy’s guidance. If you are experiencing any issues with your dog with other dogs, you should absolutely not hesitate to hire Judy. She has changed our lives for the best and I know she would change yours too!

I have a French bulldog and Judy has been a God send! She takes amazing care of my dog and offers helpful suggestions. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my baby girl! For example, I mentioned to Judy that my dog was sick the night before and I wasn’t sure what caused it. Just to give me comfort, Judy stopped by to check in to make sure my pup was feeling okay no additional charge. It gave me peace of mind and I just appreciated Judy going above and beyond.
Just wanted to update another example of Judy going above and beyond. Last night I had to go to a birthday dinner in Manhattan and as I arrived at the restaurant, I realized that I left my bathroom door open. My dog is obsessed with the bathroom trash. Anyhow, I texted Judy at 8 PM on Saturday night and she went to my apartment cleaned up the mess my dog made, gave her a snack and closed the bathroom door. Life saver!

We have an 11 year old Vizsla who, as is typical for his breed, can be very anxious and excitable. As he’s gotten older, he’s become less confident around strangers. We had some serious problems with our last dog-​walkers as they were fearful of Cedar & he was scared of them. When he nipped them & they ran off, leaving him at home with the leash on, I knew we had to change something.
I contacted Judy and warned her that we’d had some problems with the last dog-​walkers. When she first came to meet Cedar, he growled and barked ferociously, but Judy didn’t bat an eyelash. Within 5 minutes, Judy was sitting next to Cedar and he was trying to lick her face off. Judy’s calm response and «take control» attitude in the face of Cedar’s ferocity sold me and gave me confidence that she’d be the right fit for us.
It’s been about 6 weeks since that initial meeting and Cedar seems to have become at least 3 years younger — he’s got a ton more energy & is much more playful. He’s back to driving me bonkers with his energy & playfulness!
We recommend Judy to everyone, but with the warning that you may have a brand new pet on your hands after she works her magic. I can’t imagine anyone else making such a significant difference in Cedar’s life (not to mention that she’s very accommodating about our varied schedule).

I highly recommend Judy and Woofs ‘n Purrs! I have a dog and a cat, and Judy provides me with daily care services as well as occasional long-​term pet-​sitting when I’m away. She has been consistently caring, responsible and reliable and sends me frequent updates on my pets when I’m away. She is also always willing to help out in a pinch. Judy clearly cares about the animals!
