Came here because my sister recommended it for a quick ramen fix, and she said some patrons were actually Japanese. Only ordered their signature ramen, the tamashii ramen, so don’t take this as an in-depth review of the entire menu. The ramen comes with half an egg, seaweed, scallion, pork belly, and some bamboo shoots. The flavor of the broth was not bad, pork belly was good. Egg seemed… overcooked… at least the egg white portion. The noodles weren’t thick enough for my liking for ramen. I expect a nice, «toothy» bite, but these seemed thinner than what I’m used to. If I had to compare the thickness, it was about as thick as top ramen-type noodles. Honestly, it’s not bad, but it’s just not for me.

Consistently delicious. The croquette appetizer is my favorite followed by the ramen. The miso is too creamy and flavorful for my own taste. Only $ 2 for extra noodles! This is a great local spot. Their location is convenient and they’re always busy.

When you’ve been in the car traveling for four hours and hungry, seeing a highly rated ramen place open to accommodate late night travelers is a godsend. When I first stepped in, it instantaneously reminded me of Daikokuya out in LA, which got me super excited. I ordered the kara miso ramen. And honestly, I thought it was subpar. It’s a decent ramen place, but I probably wouldn’t hike out of the city(if you’re in NYC) to Astoria for this.

I’ve always been a fan of Hinomaru Ramen but figured we’ll try a different spot in Astoria. This place definitely did not disappoint. We had the Shoyu and the Kara Miso Ramen. The broth was full of flavor and the noodles were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the pork buns and fried gyoza.

Good service. I had the Tamashii Ramen which has a light broth but was equally as delicious as the other ones with more greasy broth. I also had the wasabi octopus which was also pretty awesome. Dinner price is average. Lunch price is cheaper. Overall pretty good.

Very good. Great service. The waitress was really great because I’m a vegetarian and helped me choose the right soup base. Also since it was my first time, she helped me put the spicy flavor on the side. Prices are also very reasonable. Will definitely come back.

Tamashii has decent ramen for Astoria. I ordered the Kara-miso ramen and was very pleased that it automatically comes with an egg without having to order it as a side. The broth was flavorful and deep, but slightly more on the oily and miso-heavy side for my liking. The noodles were nice and firm. Overall, it was alright/good ramen but nothing special. The server was friendly and the service was fast. If I lived or worked in the area, Tamashii most likely would have been my go to ramen spot, but since I don’t, I can’t say I would travel for it.

My first ramen outside of Manhattan and it did not disappoint! I’ve been to the famous Totto Ramen a lot in Hell’s Kitchen but I actually think this is nicer! Went here with my brother and we both left very impressed! We went during lunch time and it was actually very quiet when we arrived but it picked up rapidly while we were eating. We were greeted by a lovely woman who was very nice and polite. The restaurant got busy very quickly while we were here but she seemed to handle everything in her stride. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cool, laid back and has a relaxing atmosphere. The menu itself is your standard ramen affair(nothing wrong with that!) with a few signature dishes thrown in. We started off with chicken and vegetable dumplings. My brother never had ramen before this so he ordered the standard pork ramen while I went with the chicken curry ramen. The dumplings were absolutely delicious accompanied by a beautiful sweet sauce. Both ramen dishes arrived promptly afterwards and we both devoured them in no time! Great flavor and combination of ingredients. No complaints really. And to finish, we had two scoops of green tea ice-cream. A lovely refreshing way to end the meal. Overall, loved this place. A no fuss, delicious ramen restaurant. There are definitely ramen places in the city just as nice as Tamashii but if you live in Astoria or are in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out! Just a block down from the Broadway stop on the N or Q line. Enjoy!

This is the one of the best ramen place around the neighborhood. The ambiance is casual and cozy. Food is delicious especially tacoyaki! I’m looking foward to visit this place again!

I rather go to Hinomaru on Ditmars for better quality noodles.

There is a Japanese style Korean Ramen restaurant. It is almost all Japanese style and taste, but not at all. I love Tamashii ramen, which is salut bace taste. And I recomend miso ramen, too. The restaurant is a casual restaurant. So it is not cozy to stay for a long time. I don’t recomend to order appetizers. If you really want, Edamame is not bad. And also, other things but not ramen, as Unadon and Chanpon and so on, I don’t recomend.

It was just okey. Honestly I don’t like their broth, shashu(pork) taste. Something missing. Broth temperature, volume and price is good.

There are 3 things I look for in an awesome ramen shop. 1) broth — must be flavorful and not too oily. can’t have hella fat chunks 2) noodles — thicker and more el dente in texture. I like having chewy noodles 3) eggs — must be soft boiled and running eggs. So my ramen covered 1&3 but I forgot to ask for the thick noodles, which is my fault not the ramen shop’s. They had it too. boo. Otherwise broth and eggs were both delicious. Would’ve been more satisfied with the thicker noodles. Kept stealing our friend’s haha.

I came here a couple of months ago on a random afternoon on a week day. I honestly pick this place because my friend had wanted ramen and I read in the reviews somewhere(maybe for the LIC location?) that there were complimentary mochis? That didn’t happen of course but coming here was still a good choice! As a vegetarian/pescetarian, it’s actually quite difficult to find a ramen place with more than one veggie/seafood option. Most the time, the veggie broths are also quite bland. Tamashi is one of the few places I’ve come across with a spicy seafood ramen option. That was the one I went for of course and it was great! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good ramen place in Queens with a good variety on the menu!

I’ve been here for about three times now and Tamashi Ramen definitely hits the spot. Now only if they can deliver. Each time we go there the usual is the tako wasabi. My husband and I we both love the Kara spicy miso Ramen. The noodles are nice thick and wavy al dente. Very delicious to the bite! The chasu pork is yummy, filling and very substantial. I love the tiny piece of pork and corn that included with the soft boiled egg. If only I could fit more in my tummy I would definitely wanna try other items outside of Ramen.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon/evening and was seated immediately. The décor is very similar to other Ramen spots in NYC. To cut to the chase, I ordered the Takoyaki(pretty good, definitely recommend it) as well as the Miso ramen. The Miso ramen was good, but to be honest I feel like something was missing, it did fall short of my expectations. They have a decent variety of Sake and Beers here($ 4.50 draft, $ 3.50 bottles) or $ 10 ish for a bottle of Soju. The service here was friendly and the food came out quick. If you are in the area and you are looking for a place to get a nice warm bowl of Ramen, I recommend giving Tamashii a try. PS. It was easy to find parking.

Tamashii Ramen is a busy ramen shop in Astoria. It’s great for a cold winter day. The first thing that impressed me about Tamashii is the variety. They have more than one vegetarian option(finally!). They have five veggie ramens and I am excited to try them all. I ordered the Kara Veggie Miso ramen. It’s ridiculously spicy. The noodles are chewy and prepared fresh. I’ve had better ramen noodles from other ramen shops, however. The side dishes also sound delicious. I’ll definitely stop by here this winter to warm myself up!

The shop itself was clean and with good vibe. After we ordered, we get a free appetizer of fried boneless chicken which taste delicious(crispy outside, juicy inside) I ordered the curry katsu as I was craving of curry taste. It was ok, the curry wasn’t strong enough for me as it’s too watery and I expect the katsu to be more crispy(maybe I got used to Korean katsu) A minus will be the meat in the curry, as u can imagine katsu with curry WITH minced meat on it. It’s kinda unnecessary for that minced meat to be there. If they want to add it, please marinate the minced meat or something and put it as a side dish then it will be better as an option. And I had tried my friend’s ramen too, I like their spicy broth(special: it taste something like fermented bean curd) Anyhow, their service is excellent as we came in they gave us a big welcome and provided friendly service. Tips: come in lunch time to get around $ 2 off from the ramen.
