It’s frustrating to make time out of your day only to be told that the part they need to complete the job was not ordered and we have to reschedule.
At my second visit, the process took about two hours. My car was left outside for an hour before they took it back for repair.
Other than the hiccup with scheduling, my windshield was replaced flawlessly.

My husband made an appointment online and received a email confirmation, I went to the nearest Office which is a few blocks away and was helped immediately. The service agent explained everything in detail to me, he explained that the crack on the windshield was big so the front windshield had to be replaced. He took me into the office so they can check if they had the windshield in stock and if i had any deductibles through my insurance. They advised that the windshield for my car was not in stock but that it would be ordered and arrive the next day. I went home and the next day was a Saturday my husband took the car in and was told that it would take about 1.5hr to be replaced and within 45 min he was called that the car was ready. After inspection it was replaced and the service agent did an amazing job was very quick and explained what i could and couldn’t do in the next day or two. The glass was brand new and great i couldn’t tell the difference from the original before the crack. I would definitely recommend the Safelite AutoGlass company they were very helpful and easy to deal with thanks for the great job!

Terrible, horrible and lazy workmen. I have a cracked windshield. i called Geico as i have full glass in my coverage. they contract this work out to safelite. i scheduled for them to come to my house today 8÷4÷15. My wife is 9 months pregnant and was home all day. At 3;30 she went to grab today’s mail and saw a «Thank You slip» on our front door. This technician never called or rang the doorbell. This lazy technician just wanted to get home early so he drove to my house, put the slip on the door and left. i called the company and they said he called twice and rang the doorbell. My wife’s phone has no missed calls on it-​this guy was lazy and lied just to get home early. We only have 1 car and my wife may give birth any day now and i’m not driving anywhere with a cracked windshield. These guys are horrible.

super friendly, got me in right away, done in 90 minutes, I shopped for groceries next door and then it was done. they made my bad day a little more tolerable. Couldn’t have been better

Their service is good and they have worked on wait times which tells me they care about customer service. Last time i had waited a few hours this time about an hour. Receptionist was a lovely friendly lady so glad i gave them another chance.

Gina at the front desk gave me comfort even though replacing the rear tailgate window glass was something they could not do (no new part available, which is all Safelite will use) on my 1996 Saturn. I went there because they are accepted by my insurance company (State Farm; also highly recommended), and had replaced a broken windshield on the same car for me last year.
Manager Arnold immediately OK’d «crash wrapping» the damaged area (knocked out by a vandal while I was at a N.Y.Yankees game) and then, when the job had to be taken to another shop to install a junkyard part, charged me nothing AND kept the rear-​windowless car safely locked inside a gated area of their property for 4 DAYS (!) until my part was found by another garage.
More: Safelite Astoria kept up their nationwide search even though I informed Gina that I had the other local shop looking for it when the window was listed as ‘limited availability’. «What if you both find the part?» I asked, «What then?» Friendly and matter of fact, a Gina immediately answered, «Oh, no problem,» she answered. «If that happens, we’ll just ship the one we find back where it came from.» As if that was everyday. I think almost any garage would have told made to take the car away desire the missing window, as soon as they learned they could not fix it.
Now, the car is repaired (by someone else). After being wrapped, cleaned, and stored at Safelite Astoria — their total bill was… Zero Dollars.
Highest possible recommendation.

I called Statefarm to replace my cracked windshield and I got my appt right away. I was told to bring in my car and it would take about 2 – 3 hours. When I got to the office I was helped by a lovely receptionist, I forgot her name. I grabbed a cup of coffee from their Keurig and sat down. I was seen very quickly and about half an hour later I was done! Yay!!! Great service.

Very frustrated. I scheduled an appointment for getting windshield fixed at my place on the morning of 3÷21÷2015. Today is 3÷21÷2015. It did not snow in all of Queens this morning as far as I know. A service guy called me this morning from Astoria shop saying that it was snowing where he was, which is 15 minutes away and that he couldn’t come out to my place. He asked me to come to Astoria shop. I am located in Flushing, the shop is in Astoria. both Flushing and Astoria are in Queens, New York. Again, no snow in Flushing. I told him it’s not snowing in Flushing. In any case, please call me and come in the afternoon. he said ok. He calls me few hours later, it’s not snowing now where he is, but his car won’t start.
Very disappointed and frustrated. I waited a week since last Saturday which was when windshield was damaged for someone to come out to my place to fix the windshield. I will have to re-​schedule, but not with Safellite! and I will likely have to wait another week. The whole idea behind scheduling an appointment to get windshield fixed at home is that that I prefer not to drive it to a shop to get windshield fixed.
Geico, my auto insurance, contracts with Safellite so I scheduled with them. Called Geico. Obviously, still frustrated. Geico representative told me when it snows in the service person’s area, all appointments are cancelled. ok fine. but it didn’t snow in Astoria, Queens, this morning, confirmed with friend who lives in Astoria. And anyway few hours later the service guy called back and said it is not snowing in Astoria now and he would have come out except now his car isn’t starting.
If you want Saturday morning frustration and disappointment, go ahead book an appointment with Safelite AutoGlass and see if they are reliable.

They replaced my windshield. They told me that they vacuumed my car and no car wash for two days. However, before I got into my car I noticed small shards of glass in the back of the seat. I tell the tech and he says he’ll vacuum it. I leave the place look the center row and notice more small pieces of glass on the floor and in the seats. There is even more glass in the center consoles. I call to complain ONLY THEN DO THEY TELL ME that the windshield broke during the installation. NOT ONCE did they tell me BEFORE I left the place that the windshield broke and to be careful of glass.
They tell to come back. When I get back they tell me they usually vacuum 90% of glass and they don’t do detailing. So if I put my hand in the cup holders and come up with shards of glass on my fingertips then it’s okay because they already vacuumed 90% of the glass. Or the children were to climb in the back seat of my car and had shards of glass embedded on their legs or hands it’s okay because they don’t do detailing. What kind of BS is that? There is glass everywhere that can be harmful to myself and my passengers. THEY DONT EVEN TELL YOU TO BE CAREFUL OF THE GLASS SHARDS! To be fair they did vacuum the car again and did a decent job of removing the glass from the center console and the middle row area.
So be careful when it comes to this place because at this location they take safety lightly hence safe-​lite. The whole point of vacuuming the car to remove glass shards is for the safety of the occupants. To ensure that the people don’t get hurt because there are shards of glass everywhere.

Walked to my car this morning to find my back passenger side window was busted in. This location was part of the list provided to me by Geico. Front desk lady was very friendly and my window was fixed in under an hour. Thanks for the good service.

Definitely the ideal place to replace any car window or windshield. As promised they spent less than 1.5 hr replacing the windshield of my car. Professional and courteous staff will handle everything for you. Waiting area is very nice and has a great coffee machine from Keurig (so you’ll enjoy free hot drinks) and a VERY clean bathroom.

It took them two months to replace my glass! At first they just flat out refused to order the part. I wound up ordering it myself and had it sent to them. Then they said no, they have to order it. Then they took almost a month to actually order it. Each time I called to find out the status of my part, I would get different stories, usually a brush off. When a business tells a customer, «I will look into it and get right back to you» I expect right back means within two days. Not weeks! And when they finally got the part, it was wrong! And in the middle of all this, it came up that they had written my insurance information wrong All of this made it clear they could care less about repeat business or word of mouth. After the first part came in and it was wrong, they finally did order the right part and it came within days! Why didn’t they just do that in the first place? I’m only giving the two stars because the first time I came in, they did clean up most of the broken glass and cover the window with plastic.

Last week, the day before a holiday, I was headed to my car to take my husband to Newark for a trip to Europe and drive to a wedding in DC. I discovered that my back window was completely busted and I freaked out, given that it was a holiday weekend and I had to get on the road. My insurance company looked around for a bit to find me an appointment at an auto glass place – I needed to get it taken care of ASAP!
They set us up with Safelite. I was in at 10am and out by noon. My husband made his plane and I made the wedding rehearsal dinner. The window looks great, but I am mostly just so thrilled with how quickly this disaster turned around. Thank you Safelite!

Safelite did a fantastic job repairing the crack in my windshield. They were able to fit me in for a last minute appointment on Saturday and sealed the crack in my windshield in only 30 minutes. Safelite saved me from the cost of replacing the entire windshield!
Glad I came to Safelite and got a second opinion after first taking the car to my dealership and within 30 seconds of inspection telling me I needed a new front windshield. Let’s just say it’s an upscale German car company. Can’t recommend Safelite enough!

They quickly and easily replaced my cracked front windshield.

I had a cracked windshield that was luckily covered by insurance. I made an 8am Saturday appointment to have the windshield replaced. Everyone was really nice and courteous. The gentleman who worked on my car was really nice and had me out within an hour and 10 minutes which was awesome!
Clean waiting area with coffee, free wi-​fi and tv. Definitely come here if you love in the area and need a windshield replaced.

When ice falls on your windshield after a snow storm, it is not fun. I wasn’t sure insurance was going to cover it so I made an appointment with them anyway and the nice customer service rep told me «I will book an appt for you today but call your insurance comp. and find out if it is covered.» He then gave me the work order number and a time when I could bring the car.
So I call my insurance company and lo and behold, I don’t have to pay a single penny! I call Safelite again and the next agent takes care of the whole thing with my insurance company.
I go to the location on 19^th Ave & 37^th Street, driving very carefully, and am greeted by two nice people (man & woman). I had a 2pm appt and showed up at 1:55 pm and was told that there are 2 people ahead of me. Okay no problem, as this storm probably wreaked havoc on all.
Since I knew the neighborhood I walked up to Ditmars Blvd (a quick walk) and went to my old fave, Pizza Palace. Had some lunch and while enjoying a nice BIG slice, I get a call saying my car is ready! What??? I look at the watch and it is 2:50pm!!! Yes in under an hour they fixed my car.
I went back, picked up the car and inspected the inside. CLEAN! Yes there were some small specs of glass-​glitter that I wiped up with a wet tissue but if you had seen the damage to my previous windshield you would be surprised there was not more glass! My EZ-​Pass and inspection stickers were placed to their original positions.
So overall, I’m happy to report that not only are they professional but they are a great company for autoglass repairs. Everyone from customer service reps, receptionists, to the people who fixed the glass are great at their job. Keep up the good work you guys! And a big THANK YOU to all.

First time here. and these guys left the ceiling of my car dirty and mind you it’s white

This is the kind of place I wish no one has to come to, but if you do, Safelite AutoGlass makes the experience painless. They get the job done right and quickly.
The reason somebody comes to Safelite is to have a window replaced; front, back or side window. That was the case for me last week. You know the drill wake up to move the car; window smashed. After the initial frustration and adjectives, the insurance company arranged for service with Safelite AutoGlass.
Safelite has two options for service. They come to you or you go to them. I prefer the later since I don’t want my misfortune to be displayed in the streets of Astoria.
From the moment I reached the facility they were courteous and efficient. The location was clean and with plenty of AC. The service tech was nice. He walked me through the procedure and told me anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes.
Seventy minutes later I was driving home. Thank you!!!
I have been to another Safelite AutoGlass in Manhattan and Miami, they all are very professional in their work. This facility like the others I have been to have clean bathrooms and waiting areas. This is important and a very nice way to do business. Safelite AutoGlass was a no hassle experience. Thanks again!!!

A centimeter in length hairline crack that somehow got nicked on my front windshield is no match for the potholes and bumps of the New York City streets. Not noticeable at all, so I never worried about it. A friend saw it and warned me but I didn’t worry about it. Six months later that tiny little hairline crack split like a hammer hitting a block of ice upward and downward to a hairline crack the length of six inches, then two months past and that crack became the shape best described as a coat hanger. There are many good auto glass repair shops out there but once I got my quote I didn’t even bother because it was a great price: $ 230.00. That is for my model and make of my car only. That price won’t be the same for anyone else unless you have my make, model and year of my car because it varies depending on your car. I saw the receipt for a 2004, Honda Accord, done with glass and labor for $ 304.00. The other reason is they are a reputed known company specialized in that particular industry, why even put trust of workmanship into an unknown auto glass repair shop?
The waiting room is as if brand new and super clean. With some ads on the wall and comfortable chairs with a soft mesh back. There’s a Keurig machine to make green tea or coffee. There’s a flat screen television to watch in which you can change the channel as entertainment to past time. However, there could have been more magazines to read, there was only two, one in which did not relate to me at all, though it is a comfortable room to wait in. Even the bathrooms is newly tiled and clean.
I set my appointment and show up exactly on time. I check in at the front desk and the entire process was said to be two and a half hours, it took two hours and forty five minutes before I was finally ready to pay and go (no problem at all, an extra fifteen minute over schedule is no biggie at all because I assume the molding has to dry). Near the Safelite facility where they do the work is a restaurant down the street and the Steinway & Sons piano company is down the street as well. Across the street in the 37^th Avenue Plaza is a lot with a Bank of America, a all in one pizza-​deli-​rice and beans spot, a Chinese take-​out, a low end clothing shop and a market. I check out all the businesses in the plaza because I have two and a half hours to kill. But basically that’s pretty much all there is to do in the area. Twenty minutes into me shopping and grabbing food the installer calls me and just to go over what he was installing: a generic aftermarket windshield with a slight tint on the top. I say that’s fine. I have to say that their customer relations is great, from the moment I check in at the front desk, to when the installer was inspecting my car, until the very end another installer went over everything to make sure I was satisfied and made sure I had my keys. They were professionally polite and kept it all neat. It’s only been half the day but everything is properly done right: clean, no dirt, no marks, smooth work thus far. Down the road if anything, I’ll be sure to update. But I do really recommend Safelite. I was seriously thinking about giving a five star rating and if someone else did I would not disagree at all but this location could add a few things to make it even better.
