I created an account on Unilocal just to review this place. Went in for a beard trim, and Andrew did an outstanding job. He checked all the boxes: friendly, efficient, and importantly, knows his way with scissors (every other place I’ve ever been to for a beard trim used clippers, which takes more volume off than I’d like and leaves the ends a shaggy mess. Yes, scissors, please — and Andrew delivered.)
I split my time between Chicago and New York for work and will from now on be coming to this place for all my hair and beard needs.
If you want a great trim at a great price (did I mention my beard trim was only $ 8? The place I used to go to in Chicago charges a hipster special price of $ 15) in a laid back, local, and friendly place, look no further.

I moved to Astoria about four months ago and was anxious to find someone that I could trust to cut my hair regularly. After trying a few places, I came across Rudy’s and the search came to a close. Not only is it a great place to get your hair cut, they also take credit cards which is huge in my book. Rudy is the man and I’d recommend him to any of my friends interested in a great cut at an affordable rate.

Rudy’s a nice genuine guy that knows how to cut hair and do it fast. Sit down, shoot the S with Rudy for 10 – 15 minutes and go home w a great haircut at a reasonable price. What’s not to like?

I’ve been going to this barbershop for about 3 years now. Always great service and haircuts exactly the way I ask for them. Great professional shaves as well with hot shaving cream. The guys there are funny and great to chat with. Definitely recommend Rudy’s.
