This wasn’t a profusely good Rite-Aid, but it was a MILLION times better than the hell that is the Rite Aid on 41st and Steinway. RIP, Rite-Aid and thanks for the years of 2 for $ 5 off my favorite cereal(Kellogg’s Vanilla Almond Special K… in case anyone wants to buy me 72 boxes of it O: D).

I heard that this location is closing in July. That comes as no surprise considering how disorganized it is. With four registers there is usually only one person working. No matter what there is always some coupon/price check issue that holds up the line. Meanwhile the other workers couldn’t be bothered to open up another register. People usually leave their merchandise on the counter and walk out. The savings is not always worth the wait. This is a store, not the Department of Motor Vehicles. Management has failed…

I was there today around 415pm. My mother was trying to buy mucinex for her cold, the cashier rudely asked her for and I.D. My mother showed her the mexican consular I.D. she has and the cashier rudely said«this is america not mexico». I am beyond upset at what she said. I hope something is done I take this as an act of racism! Never going there again

Very upset with this Rite Aid and the store manager. Three days ago I purchased restaurant gift cards to send to my struggling family for a birthday and an anniversary. I have the receipt that all three gift cards were activated. I paid for them totaling $ 175. I spent $ 20 to over-night the cards to my family living in Michigan so they’d get them in time. When they went to use the cards they wouldn’t work. It was embarrassing for my family to not be able to pay for what they ordered when they were trusting the gift card I sent them was legit. And it’s embarrassing to me. This never should have happened. I used the store phone number on the top of the receipt and called the Rite Aid. A man answered the phone obviously distracted and said he was sorry he was ringing someone up and to repeat what I had just said. I asked what the solution was to re-activated gift cards that don’t work. We talked in circles, he was rude and the conversation wasn’t going anywhere. He kept saying it was a company policy not to refund gift cards. I wasn’t asking for a refund! I was asking how to fix it. I suggested having the gift cards mailed back to me and I could bring them in the store and have them looked at. He said they can’t reactivate a gift card if it’s already been activated. I’m looking at the receipt right in front of me where it says«activated.» He asked me why it didn’t work. And I said that’s why I’m calling you! To see why it didn’t work. And he repeated again that it’s a company policy to not give refunds on gift cards. I asked for the manager. He is the manager. Of course. Costumer service is not something he’s good at. I have no solution. And the conversation with him only made me more upset. Unacceptable.

Store is not well stocked, though prices are moderate. Lines are always long, and they never open additional lines. Manager is a real jerk — and lamentably, Rite Aid does not respond to email complaints. Oh well, there is always Duane Reade!
