Pampered Pooch Place

After a huge upset at Treats and Tips, ((side note: I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived they told me they couldn’t take us)) I walked into Pamper Pooch Place and was immediately taken care of. The owner allowed me to bring in my German Shepard and without hesitation got her in a tub and began working on her. Within the hour my girl was complete. The staff truly cares and comforts all dogs. Since my dog is a large breed and it was the 1^st time a stranger bathes her, I suggested putting a muzzle on her and was quickly told no that they will talk to her and keep her calm. I was very pleased with their confidence and speedy service. And not to mention affordable princes!

Ok first I will start by saying that people this is a NEW business. The previous store was pampered pooch palace not place and the owner was senile. She had me bathe my own dog in the dirty tub because he’s a large dog and I assisted her which was fine if she didn’t b*tch the whole time. End result. a f*cked up cut and -$ 200. (And I did most of the work!)
Ever since then i trooped it out to Petco in Whitestone were I found Patricia who is the new owner and she is absolutely amazing. When I found out she had her own business here in Astoria I was thrilled. The place is simple but very clean. And she truly cares about her clients. (The dogs) She marks off the time for her appointments accordingly so that way your dog isn’t sitting in a cage for 3 hours. She truly takes one dog in at a time and doesn’t stop from start to finish. Not like other groomers who bathe the dogs and put them in the cages with the automatic dryers. She actually hand dries them. My dog never left there anxious or delirious.
When my dog was hospitalized a few years ago and not well she showed compassion and marked a few hours off to take her time to groom him and wasn’t bothered at all by me staying. (For about a year)
And today I brought him in and again I was reminded of how caring she is. My dog loves her and even when she finishes grooming him he still loves her and goes crazy for her attention. Oh and might I add her prices are super reasonable! Less than half of what I paid at petco. I highly recommend her for owners with large dogs like myself. I will never go anywhere else!

I passed by with our puppy to check out the place because the grooming place I took my dog to failed to cut his nails. When I told the owner what happened, she said she said she can already cut Bourbon’s nails which she did. It was quickly done, there was no drama and I was just glad that his nails were cut. Due to the fact that the service performed on my dog was simply to cut nails, I am not yet able to give «4 stars» or be a «fan» of Pampered Pooch.
However, I really appreciate that the place is clean and even if they don’t have a huge space at the reception area, they have the place organized in such a way that you immediately see the dogs as you walk in. At that time, there were three (3) dogs in doggy day care and there was enough space for them. It was a good opportunity to see if Bourbon would be happy at the place when we need doggy day care. The owner and the assistant easily warmed up to Bourbon as they saw that he is friendly and happy even without them making any effort to befriend my dog. I’ll strongly consider this place when Bourbon needs doggy day care.

THis place was OK, i was on edge with it before because the old owners were a little more docile with the dogs, last time i took my dog to get groomed on last minute they left him sorta wet and a peace of his collar was missing i was upset, because i had dash he was sensitive and to dry him completely because when he is wet he gets aggy. This time i decided to give them another shot today, my groomers forgot his anal gland cleaning and i took him quick down the block to get it done 7 bucks not bad, but my only complaint is the hispanic woman there is a bit more bitter and mean than the asian woman who was a nice as she could be. the hispanic woman giving me attitude cause i didn’t want to sit down i rather stand with my dog since he gets a little too panic when i sit down with him, so i stood and looked around which seemed to bother her, the asian woman was nice and tried to calm him. I will only use this place as emergency otherwise they don’t give me the same security the last owners did. these owners seem more ok with small dogs then bigger ones.
but i thank the woman for the help :)

We live in the neighborhood and enjoy the ease and convenience of this place. Any time we need our dog’s nails trimmed we have been able to just walk right in — no appt or waiting around. We have also gotten him groomed a few times and the last time they did such a good job we took pictures so we remember how to tell them to do it (or to show other groomers when we are out of town and he needs something done). Definitely recommend this place for those living in Astoria and neighboring areas.
Sometimes if they notice something small (ie his ears need to be cleaned or his eye leaks are a little much) when we drop him off for his nails, then they have attended to those at no extra cost… we wouldn’t expect them to do this but it’s nice to know they are attentive to your dog.
We usually drop him off in the morning on Saturday and grab a bagel across the street and hit up the Post Office a few doors down while we are waiting for him.

This is our 4 th time here since it opened. This place is great, good service and very friendly staff. I have a husky which is a very energetic dog that sheds a lot. When I say a lot I mean several supermarket bags full of fur. They always do a great job and my pooch is always happy to see the staff.

I have tried a lot of the groomers in the area and never really found anyone I was completely happy with for various reasons. I am really pleased with Pampered Pooch after my first visit though. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they did a really superb job with my mini-​schnauzer. They offer two packages, basic and spa deluxe, and I thought the prices were reasonable. And my little dog smelled divine! I will be returning in the future.

I’ve taken my dog here 4 times now and I will keep returning. The staff is very friendly and I’ve never made an appointment, I always just walk in and they find some time for my pup. The store is cute and clean and they have always finished my dog in a timely manner. 4 stars instead of 5 because there is some inconsistencies between the different groomers and some are much better than others, but I have never had a downright bad cut. They offer two different packages one basic and the other with a few extra perks, I tend to alternate between the two. This is a great little groomer and a perfect location for us, just right down the street!

I’m not sure on all the bad reviews about this place? I recently took my dog there over the weekend and we were very happy with the results. Normally, we take our dog to Petco in Whitestone because that was the only place that we trusted. After our last experience there, we may never come back! What we came to find out was that our favorite (and my dog) groomer — Patricia, left and started her own business and that business being Pampered Pooch Place. Okay, maybe she took over the business from the previous owner but when we found out where she went, we had to come here just because we live so close and we really love Patricia!
Patricia treated our dog so nice even though my dog was shaking at first. I didn’t think he remembered her and vice versa but he always gets nervous whenever we drop him off somewhere for a few hours. We felt confident that her team was going to take good care of our baby. Patricia told us he will be done within an hour, hour and a half tops. This was great! Dropped him off at 10am, came back at 12noon. All done! He had a nice shave, smelled great and most of all, happy to see us!
Now the place itself isn’t anything fancy. It’s very simple, some cages set up in the back for the doggies and a front desk with a comfy red sofa. As far as prices, it was much cheaper for the same amount of service that we got compared to Petco.
I have to say, overall, I’m very happy and can’t wait to come back for another visit. Patricia and her team know what they’re doing. It’s great to have a place now that is close by home that I can take my pet to.

Pampered Pooch Place is chic, perfectly professional, friendly and made my Kitty gorgeous! I was a little nervous on how my 1 yr old was going to behave in her first visit to a pet grooming place but as soon as we walk through the door, because she hates taking baths at home. Eddie (her groomer) made her feel so comfortable and at ease that she was docile and not nervous at all. When I saw her and awwwww and aaaahhhh because she looked so cute! She got the lion haircut a bath and had her nails clipped. You can look her up on their website and see for yourself how cute and happy she looks. Her name is Minnie. Go to Pampered Pooch Place; you are going to love it. The staff and friendly and the place is cute, clean and adorable. I give them a 5 star review. The best in their business.

I had gone to the Pampered Poodle Palace for 11 years that used to be in this location, Camile was so friendly – I went in today and the new owners are not so friendly or accommodating. don’t waste your time or money here.
