Went for Fathers Day yesterday. Made reservations. Table was ready & waiting for us a few minutes early.
Fantastic food with even Better service!
Simple and elegant menu with all the classics and a lot of fresh twists on old favorites.
Delicious!

Ambiance is perfect food is indeed delicious. Recommend to anyone who wants a home cook plate of Italian food from their grandmothers kitchen!

I have enjoyed this family run Mediterranean restaurant for over one year… food is spot on. However sometimes there can be rudeness in the part of the management… take for example tonite – I dined outside near several families with children attracted to my dogs-​I finished eating and drinking but then found myself engaged in a conversation with the parents of children playing with my animals and each other. In the midst of a conversation about teaching, theology – the younger daughter of the family said «we need your table»…no line was seen. I had just signed off on a 110 dollar check for one… and I considered this to be rude – in fact I have Never heard them rush anyone out. Not pleasant or appreciated. And

Best Italian in Astoria! We have been coming here for over a year and every time we walk through the door, we are greeted and treated like family. We bring new people here often and they consistently tell us how delicious the food is. Everything on the menu is homemade and what you don’t see, they will make for you. Their brick oven pizza is hands down the best in the city– THE BEST! We have had parties catered by them as well as family style delivery for smaller get togethers and everyone RAVES about the food!!! I cannot say enough about Palermo and the amazing family who owns it! You must eat here!

Always our go to spot for really good Italian food in the neighborhood, family style, for eating in or take out. The pizza especially is one of our favorites.

Phenomenal food ! Lovely family owned place. The cuisine is Mediterranean and full of flavor.
Very cozy atmosphere. Great for a date or simple dinner with your friends. The bartender Kristi has a fun and friendly spirit. My family and I are always happy to dine here. The Nutella pizza is a must try !!

I had dinner here with my boyfriend tonight. My boyfriend and the lovely waitress surprised me with a delicious tiramisu dessert for our anniversary! The spinach ravioli with pistachio sauce was amazing. The best I’ve ever had. Salad was tasty too. Highly recommended.

I ate there once at the restaurant and we had delivery last night. Both times I was satisfied with the quality and we will definitely order there again. Delivery took a little longer than the promised 30 min, but considering it was Saturday night around 7 (Astorians Prime Eat Time) food arrived fresh and hot.

Expensive.
Dishes I feel like are hit or miss. On one visit I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo and barley touched it but my boyfriend had the lasagna and loved it.
The mushroom ravioli truly is amazing and one of the reasons we return here. The anti pasta was good, wish it had more greens though. The fried calamari was tasty.
2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers and 5 adult entrees and the bill was a little under $ 300. Not necessarily worth it.

I come here so often you would think I’m a part of the Palermo family. I truly love it here, I feel like anything I get is always spot on ESPECIALLY the nutella pizza — yes you read right. They have NUTELLA PIZZA.
I highly recommend this place!

A bit worse each time I visit… On two occasions, a significant piece of the chicken parmesan was inedible fat of some sort. Had to be spit out.
Drink quality varies considerably depending on who’s behind the bar, so best to stick with basic cocktails, i.e., «vodka tonic». Despite the inconsistency, prices are very similar to Manhattan prices. I was at Keen’s Steakhouse (excellent!) in midtown yesterday, and I swear, their cocktail prices were almost indistinguishable from Palermo’s.
I write this regrettably, because the staff is very sweet, but the food is not too disimilar from an upgraded Olive Garden. The pasta is consistently fine, but many of the other dishes I’ve tried have been below fair. I’ve wasted a good deal of money here over the last few months.

Had a regular pizza. Was good. Nothing to write home about. I will consider going back for dinner since it was a very nice a clean looking place.

Not a bad spot. This was my second time at this place. The first time was for a baby shower but I wasn’t «yelping» yet. Even when I went the first time– I thought the food was decent. This time when I went I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with a side of spaghetti. I have to say it was a nice big portion! But I wasn’t blown away by the flavor of it. It was typical eggplant parm. I also ordered one of their specialty drinks and I did like the fact that they put a decent amount of alcohol in it. They weren’t stingy. The service was very good too. Had a very sweet and accommodating waitress. I know a lot of people who rant and rave about this place so you be the judge and go give it a try. I base most of my reviews on the food itself– and I just thought the food was ok, but everything else was very good! My experience and the entire overall. :-)

The pizza was fantastic and the service was amazing.
All of the food came out on time and the servers made great conversation.
The atmosphere was amazing too. I can’t wait to take all of my friends.
This is definitely my new favorite spot in Astoria.

Food is good, service was alright until the end. Didn’t even want to leave a tip. We took food to go because we couldn’t finish (filled up on the appetizer) and they packed our 6 left over slices of pizza in a 2 slice box. That is an insult to the chef on how the waiter/​waitress treat their food. In the end we didn’t even take the to go because of how the waitress spoke to us.

I am updating this review to reflect the fact that the owner DID respond to my comments and has offered a chance to make it right and has told me that she would look into the matter.
It is unfortunate that there wasn’t a manager on the spot to make this right to begin with because our group would have probably left giving the restaurant at least a 4 star as we did think the food was decent… and as the comment below pointed out, it is an insult on the chef that the waiter packed it the way they did and the waitress rudely responded the way they did.
I would recommend this place IF there weren’t employees who were rude and didn’t care about the establishment and the service/​food they provide. My updated 3 stars is based strictly on the food and the fact that the owner responded to our issues but had to take off two stars for the employees and the fact that there was no management there.
Although I will not be returning to this establishment, I appreciate the gesture from the owner to make it right and that they took the time to respond. I’ll also post pictures of the food for reference.

Oh yum yum. We came here as a family on Valentine’s Day (yes, we celebrate as a family and the romance is scheduled for another date). We ordered 3 different appetizers and 5 different entrees to share. Holy moly was there a lot of food! It was shocking, but also comforting to know that there’s still a good Italian restaurant that knows the meaning of family style. The food was good with it being a little on the salty side and the service was even better. I wish they had told us that some of the entrees came with a whole spaghetti side because that would have helped us avoid ordering a whole other spaghetti dish.
All in all, we’ll definitely be back after starvation diet period ends.

Palermo is the new spot in the Pistilli Building on 21^st st. While the old place was terrible, Palermo is DELICIOUS.
The restaurant is nice and quiet playing contemporary music with a small bar in the corner. Since the bar is in my building, I would love it if they did happy hours or something. They usually have a few beers on tap with standards like Stella and Sam Adams and then locals like Single Cut and Brooklyn Brewery.
Pasta: They do a really nice job! I got a Broccoli Rabe and sausage dish that was amazing but what is REALLY worth writing home about is the Meatball, mmmmm delicious meatballs. Order them with pasta or as a side! I like to order a pizza with a side of meatball.
Pizza: They are a build your own fancy traditional pizza kind of place. They have toppings like arugula, sundried tomatoes, ricotta, etc, but nothing crazy. My favorite one is Ricotta, Argula, and Sausage. It is a thin-​crust pie. Me and a date easy crush the 16″ on our own.
The owner: Super nice and awesome:)
Brunch: We went on the first day and the Bacon and Egg pizza was on the spot perfect. I will be back to report on some more:)
Bottom line: Awesome place, needs happy hour (or just cheaper alcohol in general) but I will go more and just drink less (and eat more meatballs).
