Our special puppy, Ramsey, always comes home from NYC Pet Services happy and EXHAUSTED from playing with all his puppy friends! We are picking him up today after a 6 night stay and we have no doubt that he had a wonderful time!
NYCPS has a completely open plan with no cages or kennels — so the all pups play, eat, and sleep together. The staff is very sweet and attentive — they are always excited to see Ramsey and remember him by name. Ramsey is equally excited to see them!
We haven’t boarded anywhere else and wouldn’t consider boarding anywhere else! Ramsey loves it, they take wonderful care of pups, and its very affordable.

If you love your dog stay away from this place. We left our dog to stay over night since we were told there would be someone with him the entire time. We told 3 different people that he has severe separation anxiety and can’t be left alone. I was assured that someone would be with him at all times. We didn’t get a single update the entire night until I called myself and their number was forwarded to someone’s cell. Huge red flag. We picked up our dog and I know for a fact he was left alone. He’s had diarrhea all day and won’t leave my side. He’s startled and uneasy by the smallest noise. He can’t bark because he has no voice which I assume is from barking alone all night. That’s the only time he barks. When he’s left alone. When I called their story went from he was never alone, to he was alone for a little bit. And then it was an hour. And then it was an hour and a half. Shady business. I won’t ever bring my dog back.

I can’t say enough great things about NYC pet services! I have been taking my frenchie/​boston terrier puppy, Jane, to daycare here for the past few months. You can tell that everyone there, especially the owner Sam, really care about the dogs. She sends me updates when Jane has been dropped off and even called me once to give me a heads up that she was acting a bit strange. They also post pictures of her on instagram throughout the day. Our experience here has been overwhelmingly positive, and Jane loves going to daycare and is exhausted by the time she gets home. We love NYC pet services!

We took our 5 month old Stella here last week for a full day of daycare and it was a great experience! Easy drop off in the morning and pick up after work, the staff was all very nice. They told us she was shy at first then started playing with the other dogs, and I don’t doubt that she did some good playing because she was so pooped when she got home! Seems like she got to expend a lot of energy which is what she needs. Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been leaving my dog Diesel there for daycare (and occasional overnight boarding) since a few months ago and it’s been great. My dog loves it there, as soon as I put on his collar he knows it’s time to go to daycare and he gets so excited! He seems to love all the dogs at the daycare and it seems like the staff does a great job of watching/​playing with the dogs. I have not had any issues.

staff was fun and very accommodating. They seemed to care about the pets and all seem to have a good deal of experience with pets. The dogs are generally well balanced. Space is clean and spacious enough but could be improved a bit (i think they’re working on it). Prices are very competitive. Overall I’m very satisfied with my experience here for boarding and day care.

I went for a consultation and was disappointed. The photos shown on Unilocal do not reflect what it actually looks like… it is just an small open space where dogs of different sizes and ages are all together. I was told that the dogs are watched at all times… in person… but there was 1 person there checking folks in for a consult (us plus 1 other dog) and NO ONE was watching the dogs. They don’t take the dogs out unless special arrangements are made. No structured activities either. When we were there, there was a VERY large, high strung… not trained dog there as well (without an appointment) that actually nipped the back of my leg as we were on our way out. It hurt but luckily didn’t break skin. His jaw is bigger than my pups head. So… the scenario would be this very large uncontrollable dog in a room behind a glass door unsupervised with my 10lb puppy. NO WAY!!! There are too many day care and dog sitter options to risk leaving my dog there.

My puppy Bull Dog Boogie has been coming here since August. Whenever we go for a walk he wants to take me straight to their door. He loves everyone there and they are very sweet to him.
He gets to play with the other dogs and gets plenty of exercise while he is there. If it was up to him he would be there everyday. Any place my puppy loves, I love. I’m sure you and your pup will too.

Part of my dog’s ear is gone. It happened during a day of daycare at NYC Pet Services when there was only one person on staff, and the dogs were left alone at times.
The owner flatly denies that this happened. And since she won’t let clients view the webcam footage, I will never know the truth. But I know I won’t ever trust her or her staff with my dog again.
If you love your dog as much as I love mine, you will stay far away from this place.

We left our border collie at NYC Pet Services for 5 nights while we were away and it was a great experience! We will definitely be using NYC Pet Services every time we go away. Our dog needs a lot of exercise and they provide plenty of daily walks. The facility is clean and the staff was great. We called to check in a few times and they provided plenty of details and even sent us a bunch of pictures when we asked. I also liked the fact that when we initially brought her to the facility, they evaluated her to make sure she was a good fit and wouldn’t be aggressive with other dogs. This made me feel very comfortable knowing that they won’t take dogs if they see any red flags regarding their behavior. We will definitely be back soon!

After coming to NYC pet services for a few months with my 10 month old pit, I can honestly give a 5 star rating. I love when I come in the ladies know his name and are excited to see him, as is Bruno when he comes in. I feel like he’s in good hands and gets all of his crazy energy out playing with the other dogs all day. I think the cost is a great deal considering how long they are open.
I’ve also boarded Bruno there for one night while on a business trip, and they were very accommodating with his non-​kibble diet, which some places aren’t. Overall I recommend this place to other fur-​baby owners in the Astoria area.

Everyone here is great! My english bulldog Loafy gets so excited when we make our way there and is exhausted on the way back. Staff is really attentive and you can tell they love dogs. I bring my dog for daycare and overnight. Its comforting to know there is an animal clinic on the same floor in case anything ever happens too.

Living in the city, it can be somewhat difficult to find a reputable place to board your special friend. NYC Pet Services looked after my pup Ru for a total of 4 days while I was away on vacation and they did an absolute fantastic job.
Ru is a pretty nervous pup when it comes to meeting new people, but she absolutely adored all of the staff members. While I was away, I received check in updates and photos texted to my phone of Ru having an absolute blast with all of her new friends.
I will definitely be using NYC Pet Services again, thanks guys!

Great to work with! My company, PuppyParties NYC hosted a dog event here a couple weeks ago and we had a great experience. Samantha, the owner is so nice, easy going and reliable. I would definitely recommend this place for dog care!

We boarded our two tiny dogs with NYC Pet Services over Memorial Day weekend while we traveled out of state. About 2 years ago, we had boarded our older boy there just overnight and he seemed fine afterward, so we decided to rely upon that previous experience and the many positive reviews, even though their new location is no longer convenient to our new home. Our younger dog, also a rescue, had never spent a night apart from us since we adopted him at 8 months and he is fiercely bonded to us, so we wanted to be sure they were in good and caring hands.
Perhaps the first warning bell should have gone off when we arrived to drop the dogs off, and learned that we were being charged significantly more than we had been quoted in person when we made the reservation during an evaluation appointment. Since it was just a few hours before our scheduled flight, we decided it was not the time to argue, and left carefully printed instructions for food and medication (our older boy has well-​controlled dermatitis, and takes oral medication and is bathed weekly, only with a special steroidal shampoo and conditioner); we supplied food, medication, treats, toys, and familiar bedding to ease their experience. The owner was called down to the desk, as I wished to pay in advance; I had arranged to have the dogs dropped off with me at home when we returned, as I don’t drive, and we now live in Hudson Heights. We explained that we were concerned because the dogs were not used to being boarded, that the younger dog never had been, but we were promised frequent updates on their condition by text or e-​mail, and pictures so we could see how they were getting along, so we left them, feeling somewhat reassured.
In short, we received NOT ONE SINGLE UPDATE of any kind during their 5-​day stay. I called to check on them twice, and re-​provided my e-​mail address in case there was a typo (evidently, there was not, as the e-​receipt for payment was received). The only communication we received from NYC Pet Services in 5 days was the payment receipt.
Because we are no longer convenient to the business, I asked if they could still provide drop-​off service, and after conferring, they called me back and said that the owner would drive our dogs herself, and informed me of the cost. We had a firm appointment time for the dboys to be dropped off with me at 1:00 p.m. the day after we returned. At 1:15 p.m., I finally called as I had heard nothing and there was no sign of our boys. The call went straight to voicemail. No one ever called me back. My partner finally got through to them from his office, and they told him there was a necessary change of schedule for personal reasons, and the dogs would be dropped off at 2:00 p.m., instead. Not a huge deal, but not calling to let me know WAS a huge deal — particularly since we were already worried at their total lack of communication during our trip.
The dogs were both ravenously thirsty; they actually ran through the apartment and shared a water bowl (which they do not do) in their efforts to slake their thirst.
I can only hope that these people take better care of our beloved pets than they do of their own business. Upcharging more than the quoted price, complete lack of updates and total unresponsiveness; no update when they are going to be an hour late for an appointment to return our dogs — none of these inspire confidence in their practices. We had hoped we had found a regular place for vacation or emergency boarding, but it looks as though we will need to begin hunting again for caregivers whom we can rely upon and trust.

I had my dog Mikey a mini yorkie, groomed here several times and they always do a great job. They have my dog ready within 2 hours as opposed to the big pet stores who leave my dog in a cage all day.
Mikey’s last grooming was done by Skyler who listened to exactly what I wanted handled him with care. I
will definitely continue to go here.

I left my 7 month pit bull puppy, Leo, overnight for almost a week when I went out of state. Leo was denied by several other boarding services in Queens (simply because of his breed’s reputation). NYC Pet Services is pit bull friendly and welcomed Leo. That alone warrants a ⁵⁄₅ stars. Yay! Samantha and her staff were extremely friendly and professional and walked me through the additional vaccinations and other requirements needed for boarding. During my vacation, they kept me updated during the week and sent me pictures through text. Leo is definitely a handful and his overexcitement is an understatement – so kudos to Samantha and staff for keeping up with his puppy energy level. Leo walked out an extremely happy puppy today. :-) I will definitely be dropping him off there again when I’m out of town.

I decided to try this place out through groupon today. My experience was beyond horrible. I would never bring my dog here again, I can’t believe how so many things can go wrong.
Brought my dog here at 8:15am, I believe the place is supposed to open at 8:30am. I tried calling a few times and see if someone is in the store. No one open the place up until 9:00am, that was when I tried knocking on the door, when all the dogs inside start barking and woke up the night attendant.
When the gate was open, I saw pizza boxes and beer all over the counter, the night attendant was trying to clean the place up before letting me in. When I went to the reception desk, he took my dog and put in in the dog pen area. When I looked into the area, there were pee and poo everywhere. It didn’t look like anyone clean up the floor for the whole night, I wonder what’s the purpose of having a night attendent then? If I wasn’t already late for work, thanks to them opening late, I would not have let my dog stay for the day.
I left a small kong with my dog’s food in there, and instruct the guy to put him aside at around noon and feed him. (This is part of his crate training). The guy took the kong and put it away, didn’t seems very responsive.
I decided to give them a call at 11:30am and try to remind them. No one picked up the phone for the next three hours. When someone finally picked up my call, I was told they don’t pick up blocked calls or unknown numbers… which I don’t believe is the best business practice.
When my BF picked him up in the evening, He presented the groupon to the staff, and the staff clearly don’t know what the groupon is for, and demand more money.
After she finally understand what’s going with the groupon, we asked for the kong toy back. She told us she has no idea where the kong toy went, and she was the one who fed my dog. She claimed the guy just gave her the food, and don’t know what happened to the kong. Not to mention, she works at a pet store, and she had no idea what a kong looks like. Now, if the kong is missing, it makes me wonder what they fed my dog?
I had edited my review from one star to two stars, since Samantha the owner called me personally to apologize about my experience. She seems to really care about her business. I do hope that this is just an off day for them.

Did not like this place and neither did my dog. Decided to try them out one day. 2 of the 3 women there were too busy playing on their phones and none were playing with the dogs (Big difference from where I usually drop our dog off in LIC — which is out of the way so I had high hopes for this place)
I ended up getting charged for a full day when I was there for half a day (did not realize because my girlfriend picked up our dog and was overcharged)
I was ok with that, figured I could resolve it the next day because I was going to drop him off again on my way to work. This time it was just 1 man behind the counter so he could not resolve issue with the overcharge and I was about to give my dog to them but there were larger dogs (some not in the pen) and my dog was pulling the other way.
My dog usually loves daycare and gets very excited to go in — but his extreme resistance was the last straw. Between the way the place seemed to be managed, the lack of attention to the dogs, and my dogs warning me to leave — it was all I needed to see.
This place is more of a «larger» kennel than a doggy day care/​place for dogs to roam and play. I have since never came back and never bothered getting the refund of the difference I was overcharged. I will not bother with this place and can only hope Astoria gets a decent doggy daycare so I can stop driving 15 minutes out of my way to drop my dog off to one that he enjoys, with a warm/​friendly atmosphere.

I love this shop and the owner, Samantha, is so sweet and caring. As an animal lover and vegetarian, it is really nice to see someone that shares that same passion to care for animals. If you are away or missing your pup while your at work, she’ll even snap photo updates for you :)
All the negative reviews are unbelievable! I was shocked when I saw how low of a review the shop had been given. Why are so many of the positive reviews being filtered? 30 reviews filtered?! But negative reviews with no picture and only a couple of reviews are not filtered? really Unilocal?Something is fishy here.
This little shop is adorable and they really love animals here. One of the reviews saying that they just want to make money. This is ridiculous, Samantha has hosted free play dates in the park and other activities to bring pet owners together and encourage both human and puppy socialization. She doesn’t charge or make money off these events. If you talk to her, she worked very hard to start this shop on her own because she loves animals. It wasn’t just a family business handed down that she doesn’t care about or a financial investment.
Anyways, this is a great little shop to get your dog groomed, pick up supplies and a safe place to have your pet stay while you are away. Best bet is to come by and check out the shop yourself :)
