UPSCALE Extended Stay — CORPORATE Housing — Vacation — Fishing Trips-Retreats
You will love your unit — whichever one you choose depending on your needs and your budget. All units offer a rare combination of spectacular views of Columbia, closeness to the river and proximity to Starbucks and Safeway for your convenience.
It is quiet, peaceful, tastefully decorated, and very relaxing. Oh, and did I mention, there is plenty of parking — for your cars, your RV, your boat…
Close to the house, nature abounds in many forms: great hiking trails up the hill towards the Astoria Column; the River walk along the Columbia into the city or towards the fishing harbor — where the sea lions hang out (you can hear them from your bed during the night). Bike the steep forested trails for outdoor adventures. Don’t be surprised to see deer on the neighbors’ lawn.
Drive a short distance to down town for shopping, or Sunday market and open air summer concerts and festivals (e.g. wine tasting, crab festival, Scandinavian festival…). Go to Liberty Theater for a step back in time.
If you are here for work, the house is close to Columbia Memorial Hospital, the Clatsop Community College, the Aquatic Center and other organisations/businesses. Accessible, in a safe neighborhood, well maintained.
Enjoy great restaurants, pubs, breweries — many of them — for all budgets; Astoria is famous for freshest sea fare skillfully prepared, as it is a fishermen paradise.
History
Established in 2006.
This Upscale Extended Stay for Corporate Housing, Boutique-style Vacations or Retreats — was initially intended to be used as a secondary residence and eventually as a retirement pied-à-terre when purchased.
The restoration turned into a labor of love: what used to be a historical 1904 Victorian building, full of stories and history of its own, lead to a learning experience about the rich history of Astoria, endurance and resilience.
It turned into a wonderful retreat for returning Discerning Guests, weather corporate executives, fishermen, college professors, relocating coast guards and their families…
Meet the Business Owner
Joana O.
Business Owner
Joana, the owner of Franklin Vista Properties is a Health Care Professional/Portland Businesswoman born in Europe; Joana initially bought the house with the desire to retire in Astoria, away from the frantic life-style of a bigger city.
But after remodeling, she felt compelled to share it with guests, as there are very few corporate housing units of this quality and convenience in Astoria.
Hope you enjoy it as much as the previous guests and the owners.
