I have to say I definitely dig this little, underloved barber shop in Astoria. The guy who runs this place is like really quiet and attentive and worried about messing your hair up – which is basically the opposite of most stylists. You can usually just come in here and there will be like two people ahead of you and, as you sit, everyone shares this strange kind of knowing smirk as if you found this excellent barber shop no one else knows about. Honestly, there is something kind of sad and beautiful about this spot. They always do my hair well, people often ask me where I get my hair cut and I tell them this place and they give me this look like«I don’t ever go to Astoria.» But whatever, make a day of it. Hit Queen’s Comfort, get some Gossip Coffee, go to SriPrai, and maybe get a haircut while you are at it.

I’ve been going here to get my haircut for 2 years now. Always professional and friendly. Once you let him know what you like he stays consistent with it. If your looking for a nice clean neighborhood cut then you have found the right place.

Great, clean, and quick haircut every time. I’ve been coming here for about a year, and don’t ever have to worry I’m going to leave with a botched haircut. Great local barbershop.

I have been trying to find a new go to barber in Astoria. I got a fresh cut from Eric 6 weeks ago. I was hoping he would become my new barber and was looking forward to a fresh cut today. Things did not go well. I walked into Eric’s and waited for him. He was currently with a customer. After waiting for 15 minutes I sat in the chair. After sitting down Eric told me to give him 5 minutes which was no problem. I proceeded to sit in his chair for around 25 minutes while he enjoyed his lunch and went to the bathroom. I thought it was odd and almost left but I needed a cut and I was already there. Eric returned after he enjoyed his Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and started cutting my hair. I explained to him what I wanted and he got to work. Things were looking pretty good but I did not like the tape up /fade that Eric was giving to me. I told him I did not like it the way it was. He told me that he would work on it and blend it in. He worked on it and I explained I did not like the way it looked. I explained that it was not even, straight and was too long. He replied with«I KNOWWHAT I AMDOING, THISISMYLINEOFWORK«and continued. He worked on a couple more things and towards the end I explained that I really wasn’t happy with the way the sides came out. I asked him if there was anything else he could do. He replied with, «YES, YOUCANLEAVE, GODOWNTHEBLOCKTOTHEDOMINICANBARBERSHOP, SEEWHATTHEYCANDO, THEHAIRCUTISFREEANDPLEASEDONOTEVERCOMEBACKHEREEVERAGAIN» …WOW…I did not have an attitude and I was polite. I asked him if there was anything else he could do because I did not like the way the cut looked. It was not that serious. I replied with«What are you talking about? I am not being rude, I just want to know what else you can do? What are my options?» He wrapped up. I slammed a $ 20 on the counter and stormed out. He said, «YOURCHANGE, YOURCHANGE» I walked out and never looked back. I will not be returning because the owner told me to never return. Awful Service & Bad Fade.

When we just moved to Astoria, my husband was worried about who can cut his hair as amazing as his previous hairdresser. My brother and father recommended him Eric’s barber shop. Now, 5 years later Eric is still his hairdresser. I’ve been there with him few times over the years and Eric is amazing. My husband is a bit complicated, but Eric listens and makes it come true! He tried other guys at Eric’s, they are also good, but Eric is the man! My husband never left dissapointed from there. I highly recommend it.

This place is THE place to get a quick decent cut in Astoria. I had cashed in and went to Tomcats in Greenpoint the previous month and got an amazing cut there. Really nice– but I knew I didn’t have the time to get out to Greenpoint to get it taken care of on such short notice. They guys at Eric’s were able to hook me up– a lot of newer shops want to re-create the old barbershops of yore– this is the old school barbershop of yore. They really are the real deal.
