Dahlia is receiving three stars for their inability to honor appointment times. The service I’ve received is good in terms of quality but on two separate occasions I’ve made an appointment for no reason. The first time, I waited an hour and then left. The second time, I specifically asked if all the walks in would be seen before me even though I had an appointment and the woman who I believe to be the manager said yes because they had been waiting for a while. My roommate has also had the experience of a long wait time.
I would suggest Dahlia if you can go during off peak hours/​days.

This was my first time at this nail salon and I left totally satisfied. Magalie did my gel manicure and she did an awesome job. I’ll definitely return and ask for her!

Always so many people and you end up waiting a long time. They dont have much designs either but so far its the best i’ve been to in this neighborhood. Rainbow nails down the block is worse. So this place is worth the wait.

First of all let me start off by saying, I love this place. Jess (the owner — she does my nails) is one of my absolute favs and Jazmine (manis, best pedi + massage ever) and Snow (tips/​long nails — she’s perfect! Very attentive to detail) are wonderful as well.
Bit of advice:
Make an appt always! Do not just walk in and get annoyed you’re waiting an hour and change, they are a very busy salon and do quality work, so do yourself a favor and book ahead.
I’ve been coming here for 3+ years and always had a wonderful experience.

Love this place! All the girls are really sweet. The atmosphere is cute. Snow, is my girl she does gel overlay on my nails and they last me 2weeks w no problems. A lot of reviews talk about how cheap this place is, and it’s true it’s very reasonably priced so be sure to tip well! People don’t always realize how much these girls rely on tips. Most salons charge twice as much if not more for mani/​pedi. So the girls probably make less an hour then to keep the prices that low so don’t forget your tips matter!

Okay so i been coming here for a while and tonight was just horrible and i think its time for me to find a new nail salon. I came to get tips and a pedicure. First they wanted me to do my tips so i sit dwn and the woman stares at me and is kind of rude asking me if im ready with an attitude. Then she starts to shape my nails and i asked for a short almond shape. Then she starts to get frustrated with me because im asking her to at least try to shape them correctly and instead they are no where near almond and they are uneven. After that i get the gel and i love the color but the shape of my nails are way off and im so upset. My pedicure was fine nothing spectacular, but i am going to find a new nail salon. Very disappointed

I came in ONE WEEK ago for a gel manicure. Currently soaking in acetone and aluminum foil in my apartment because all of the tips were already peeling off!!! This is my 2^nd bad experience. The last time was the day before Halloween and the next afternoon– not even 24hrs later– a chip!!! So pissed off. $ 50 (two different gel manicures PLUS TIPS) totally pissed down the drain!!! The angry/​miserable looking Spanish one is the one who fucked them up before Halloween.
BUT I once got a dream mani from the woman with the bad eye and forearm tattoo, and came back TWICE hoping my manicure would last!

They always get my nails done right and the ladies do a great job at a speedy time. Prices are great too! Manicures are 5 – 6 bucks and mani/​pedi deals start at 18 dollars, better than any fancy place I have ever gone and they always have a color I am looking for. The aestheticians are skilled in their craft and provide insightful tips on how to better care for my nails. The wait unless you make an a appointment sometimes can be a bit of a drag, but totally worth it! I got my wedding nails did here they added a beautiful butterfly jewel to my nails which were gorgeous!

I called when they opened to make an appointment for a gel manicure and the girl on the phone was friendly and said 12:30 would be a great time. I showed up for my appointment and the nail tech that took me pointed at her empty chair and said HERE, HERE, SIT! Okay a little rude but whatever.
The gel manicure itself was great. The nail tech was efficient but thorough and I love the shape of my nails.
There was a customer by the window who was having an issue with her top coat or base coat. Her nail tech motioned to the two Asian girls for help. There is one with a short bob who did get up and help her. I was seated next to Jess’ station, who based on the other reviews I gather is the owner, who didn’t even acknowledge that there was a customer issue. Jess was downright rude & condescending to her employee. She even said to her, «CANT YOU READ? DO YOU READ ENGLISH??» Scoffed and continued to work on her own client. She didn’t even speak to the customer or offer a solution so the girl (who remained very polite!) said she would pay for her service and just leave. What kind of owner would just let a customer walk out upset? She is doing her business a GREAT disservice.
I will not patronage a business that treats their employees so poorly. Next time I will just stop being lazy and go to Flushing.

I love this place, saw it on Unilocal and had to review it! It’s my first time in NYC and I called them right up they had time to do my nails and they did an excellent job! I’m so happy the way they turned up! Melany it I remember well her name was did an excellent job! They shop looked cozy and they did exactly as the picture I showed them! Would go back again soon!

They do good work but the service is nothing to rave about. Appointments aren’t appointed to and staff doesn’t ask what you need upon your arrival. I waited an hour for an appointmet i made ahead as they took walk ins ahead of me.

I’ve been here a few times. If you don’t have an appointment, you’ll be waiting for forever. Even with an appointment you wait forever. I don’t like when you walk in, no one greets you or at least ask what you’re there for. After tonight, I will NOT be going back to this salon for anything.
The three starts are only because I’ve had only a FEW good mani, pedi and gels done.

Enjoying the remaining of my sunday. Best way to top it off with a mani and pedi. Jasmin is my go to chic! APPOINTMENT is a must ! People don’t get upset just make a appointment..

I seriously love jessie, she hooked me up with a great acrylic set/​manicure, not to mention she’s really sweet. I also got a pedicure done by one of the younger looking Asian girls and she did an amazing job. She removed virtually all of my calluses, the paint job was great, the leg massage was amazing, and then while my toes were drying she gave me a really nice shoulder and neck rub. This is my new go to spot.
Ps make sure you make an appointment they get really busy. I was a little early for mine but they didn’t make me wait and took me right away.

I waited over an hour to be serviced. I came in and sat there after picking a color, none of the workers even acknowledged that I had walked in. Finally, someone asks me what I was getting done. All I wanted was a fill in. She didn’t even give me an estimated wait time, so I continued to wait. An hour later, someone else comes up to me and says it’ll be another 15 minutes or more.
An hour??? I’m sorry but my time is valuable and it’s not enjoyable for me to come and sit there for an hour. As a business owner, you need to respect the client’s time. You need to let your client know ahead of time that there’s a long wait so the client has the choice to wait or not! It’s so simple. Instead, I sat there like an idiot as I watched people that came way after me getting serviced because they had appointments. If you’re too busy to service me, just say it! Don’t make me wait! I would appreciate that so much more and I would most likely return at a time when you can service me.
I was not even able to get my nails done because by the time they were going to be ready, my husband had called to say he was ready to come get me.
Now I feel like this place doesn’t deserve my business because they didn’t respect my time. I should have gone to Rainbow nails like I always do. What a big mistake.

I really LOVED this place. However, on numerous visits I have received sub-​par service. My gel manicures always start to peel to the point where an entire nail of polish came off. I assume this is because the nail tech NEVER leaves my nails under the UV lamp for the recommended amount of time. Instead they always tell me to take my hand out, and I have to insist that it’s not done yet.
On a positive note, they do honor appointments, which you might need in the summer. On any given week night there is a 45+ minute wait. They have a great selection of colors, and your nails will look flawless/​However, if I’m going to pay $ 45 it needs to be done properly.

Ugh I am so mad at this place!!! I really enjoyed coming here and I’m a firm believer of consistency. I went to Snow Like I normally do, got fills n pedi with a solid light pink. Not even an hour after I start looking at my nails and noticed there were two bumps on the ring finger and the pinky finger that was left to pure laziness of not flattening the gel completely down. Another thing if you look at the left side of the nail it’s super thick while in the middle and right is very thin and that was on at least 4 nails. The last issue I have is the work was done so poorly and so thick that they actually look worse than acrylics. I was so dissatisfied with the service I called to complain, which I was told To come in on Monday to fix. I’m really just so disgusted with her work I had to Find a new salon in Astoria.
**** I also witness they do not throughly clean the pedicure machine where we soak our feet. No lie, a customer just got her crusty toes filed, cut, plucked, and painted and when she was done I watched Snow drain the water and spray whatever crap they stick in those spray bottles. Right after I was asked to put my feet in the same tub not even wiping anything down. And get this the tools she used were not sanitized in ANY way no spray, no heat machine to kill the bacteria NOTHING. This place is disgusting and highly recommend going to another place. Just watch the techs they will easily use stuff on you that was used on a patron right before you without sanitizing anything ****

I used to live a few blocks from this place in Astoria, and it was my #1 nail spot. The people here are so nice, and the prices are incredible! They have lots of colors from which you can choose, and the pedicure chairs are the massage kind.
The only thing I will say here is that if you’re walking in for a manicure, sometimes there’s a really long wait. You may want to make a reservation.

I’ve come here twice to get a mani pedi. Each time I have to make appointment so make sure you do as you will have to wait over 20 minutes minimum.
Their prices are very reasonable $ 35 for gel mani and regular pedi, I was shocked. The estheticians spend a good amount of time on nails which came out great. They also last over 2 weeks with no chips :)
I do love coming here as it’s close to my place and is very clean. They just opened over 2 months ago. Only thing is the wait, even when you make appt. so it looks like they are short on resources and also a bit disorganized. Hopefully they can get more people as this place has great potential to be the #1 nail salon for me in Astoria!

Let me preface this by saying I’m INCREDIBLY difficult to please. I’ve been to Harlem, Flushing, the LES, the UES, Brooklyn, Jersey… looking for a nail salon that does a good to above average job. Alas, I found Jessie at Dahlia — thank GOD!!! She’s trendy & had her own nails done. I knew I was in good hands. The wait for her is usually longer, so call and make an appointment. I LOVE my nails!!! Jessie does acrylics mostly, if you don’t need acrylics go to Coco. I LOVE her for my gel mani & my pedis.
Now, the pedi, oh baby…$ 13 for a reg pedi, $ 25 for callus removal where they really go IN. This lady made my feet so freakin smooth I loved it. Great polish selection too.
I don’t need to hold conversations with my nail lady, that’s why I have friends. Both of my techs were professional & didn’t bother me with small talk which is MUCH appreciated.
When you first walk in, you have to get a nail tech’s attention and tell them what you want or you will sit there like an idiot and watch other people go ahead of you.
