Citibank

This place doesn’t exist anymore! I wasted my time going there!
Please update this information I was short timed and I thought that this being close to my house would save time and my day.
I recommend going to the one located on Steinway street because that one it does exist!

I just had a huge problem with this bank. I had a Checking Plus account that I expected to pay off today. My mother was paying it off for my 50^th Birthday. I went to the bank last week and asked what the total was. The banker we spoke to gave us a number and my mother sent me the check. Today when we went and they told us that it was $ 270 more than he told us and that he’d made a mistake. They were only able to reduce it by $ 100. Drop in the hat for them but for us it’s at least 2 weeks of food. Let me explain that had investments and other money for a while, which is why I went with them in the first place. To have everything in one place was convenient. Even with this loan they used to be able to reduce it by several hundred dollars in the past when I told them my financial situation was difficult. They’ve changed. We took the banker to task for making this homogeneous mistake. The bank manager said she could only reduce late fees and gave us a sob story of her own as to why she understood. I bet she never had to go for public assistance. (To me going for public assistance was, at the time, a huge shame. Now I’m realizing it’s a huge relief). We said to the banker that we felt that this should have come out of his pocket. He just sat there with a dumb look on his face and showed us his mistake. I will never, ever use Citibank again. I can tell you they’ve changed significantly and are only for the super rich. Even if I had the money I used to I’d switch. Messing up with money, even if it’s 2 cents in my book, is no small thing. Just saying…

This entire review is dedicated to one teller, who helped me in a time of confusion and utter despair.
On an otherwise pleasant day, I strode into Citibank intent on securing several bank checks to pay the rent and security on my new apartment. At the desk, Theo, the teller, asked me for my bank card to begin the transactions. Imagine the onset of panic that began welling up inside of me as I reached into my wallet only to find that my bank card was missing! Fearing the worst, I asked him to take a peek at some of my previous transactions. The repertoire of places that littered my bank statement was disturbingly unfamiliar:
Foot Locker, Bath & Body Works, Burger King, Build-a-Bear…yes, BUILD-​A-​BEAR! All on a Sunday. All in Connecticut. At the very same time I was buying wine and flowers to bring to my friend’s dinner party in Jamaica Plain, MA. Unless I’d recently nailed down the science behind teleporting, it was very obvious that someone had stolen my card.
Theo quickly swooped in to save the day! He immediately blocked my card and began issuing me a temporary card until my new one arrived in the mail. He then printed out a copy of my bank statement and had me circle the fraudulent charges, and fill out a short form contesting the charges. He then assured me that my money would be returned to me shortly and the charges investigated by the bank. About a week or so after the incident, the money was back in my account.
What could have been a nightmare to end all nightmares actually turned out to be just an annoying situation that was fixed in a relatively short amount of time.

Gotta love this place, drunk and disorder homeless dude screaming at ATM service phone & harrasing every customers trying to get to the ATM, and front desk will tell you it’s «business as usual».
Sure it’s convinient and clean“er” than other bank, but you are likely to get more than welcome smile from, eh, non employees here. Hold on to deposit slip and your cash since this bank doesn’t offer buncer service at front door.

This Citibank seems to be one of the best banks along 31^st in Astoria for its cleanliness, easy access, and good all around service. I like the bank tellers here and while the lines can get long at times, they’re handled efficiently to where the wait time isn’t such a big deal.
The bank looks a lot bigger from the outside but is much smaller when one actually goes inside. They only have a handful of office desks for people to sit down and start new /​modify accounts. The staff is friendly and well dressed for most part. I just wish they more locations in all the boroughs.
The ATMs in here are a tad different than I’m used to since they work on an entirely different touch screen interface that facing up (so no one behind you can see what you’re doing). The fee for non-​Citi customers is now $ 2.00 per transaction. It sucks when I forget my Citi card.
