These guys they have to get it together! Numerous times mistakes like not correct bagel, so many times wrong items on bagel or items missing! Today worst omelette no taste at all! Not just one but both mine was not omelette platter but scrambled tomatoes with some eggs and i guess hint of feta. My gfs bagel instead of everything bagel plain not toasted and omelette no taste at all!!! If i add ham to omelette i hope that it will be in it not on side.

Unfortunately, this bagel place is very inconsistent with service. I’ve given this bagel shop 5 chances to many. Without fail, they get the order WRONG every single time. Something as simple as a whole wheat bagel with creamcheese will get translated into a sesame bagel with butter. Service sucks too. It’s in a convenient location but not really worth it anymore. I don’t think this place will get a 6^th chance from me. Very disappointing.

Ordered the worst cup of coffee I’ve ever purchased. It was tasteless and lukewarm from the large amount of milk that was added. It also had no aroma of coffee at all! I’m sure before the milk was added it looked like a light tea instead of deep brown coffee. The woman behind the counter changed the coffee pot right after she poured my cup so I’m assuming it was the very last bit left at the bottom. Gross!
Plus the ordering and checkout process is always unorganized and disorienting. Never again.

Like many similar reviews,…this place has fallen apart from their soft opening. Today was my 3^rd, and last visit until the owners step away or sell out.
Such a shame too, the location is wonderful, the bagels are lovely, but the service and investment to get what you want is not worth it.
Today the only staff was mom, pop, grandma and delivery bike guy. My order was taken in the style of a good fast food styled Chinese Restaurant. Sadly, they don’t have bagels listed by ##, so they got the order wrong. Wrong bagel, not hallowed out. This though she circled the bagel on the ‘order paper’ and told me this meant hallow before giving it over to her husband to make the bagels. I don’t blame him however, it is the short hand ‘circle’ and abbreviations for Whole Wheat which he didn’t understand… I know he served an everything bagel assuming that is what the circle around ‘bagel’ meant… it is what I thought it did!
For this type of service, I’ll go to my corner deli where they are able to double /​triple check an order if need-​be.
Stay away until you see a New Management sign.

The bagels are fresh, affordable, and taste so delicious.

I have been here 3 times. My first visit being during their soft opening, so there was no cost for my bagel and iced coffee.
The bagel was pretty good, as was the cream cheese. Nothing spectacular, but also not poor quality in my opinion.
The 2^nd time… no one knew what the hell i ordered and it was written on a ticket. As with the other reviews on here i was asked several times what i had ordered, and it gets old pretty quick. I had only ordered a wrap with 2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites and avocado. For the extra charge on the avocado i would have hoped for more than 1 measly slice.
3^rd visit, by far the worst. Ordered another breakfast wrap with eggs, avocado and cheese. Again, my order seemed to take a long time and no one knew when it was ready. The real kicker is how my wrap was encased in foil and then cut with a serrated knife by the cook.
The result of this action was tiny shards of foil throughout my sandwich that i had to pick up.
How do you not think of what this action may cause before performing it? if i’m eating in why do you even need to wrap my shit in foil to begin with?
There is no atmosphere here. The color choice for the interior is way off and not comforting at all for someone trying to grab a bite and relax. Had high hopes for this place, but the owner does not know his target audience, and it is sheer chaos inside if more than 1 person has ordered something.

Mom and Pop shop desperately trying to emulate a chain, doing a poor job of it and charging enough to make a chain blush. I just ordered a toasted pumpernickel and lox and they rung me up for $ 4 dollars, so obviously I knew something was amiss (way too cheap for lox, way too expensive for a bagel and cream cheese??). They made amends, charged me $ 10(!!!) and I went home with my treat. Bagel, not toasted; lox, cut thick like jerky, and then the cream cheese. these motherfuckers didn’t make me a new bagel. they just put the lox on top of lox spread. Look, ppl make mistakes, yada yada, but this place has literally fucked up my order every time I have gone. I don’t blame the staff, who have probably never actually ordered a bagel in their personal life — I blame the pos owners who opened something with no imagination, with an unrealistically expensive menu, and who hired a bunch of people who don’t have the first clue about bagel culture.
So fuck you bagel blvd, and I really mean that.

I could almost give the BLVD one star but I might give them a second chance with hopes they work out the start up kinks. We ordered 3 bagels, all different and got them all wrong. As for the Bagels themselves way under par for this city. The location is sitting on a gold mine but I don’t think this place has the winning recipe. For now I will make the walk to brooklyn bagels.

I don’t care about ambiance. I want my bagels to be delicious and I want them in my tummy asap. Bagel BLVD does that and for a fair price. Don’t get me wrong I’ve waited in line on Sat/​Sun mornings for the good bagels and the local hip place but why? Why must I wait for an hour for a bagel? I haven’t had problems with customer service here but I can tell they don’t have a rigorous system for orders so hopefully that will get straightened out as they get used to everything. Both the bagels and cream cheese are delicious fresh and again reasonably priced.
I don’t know if owners actually read these reviews but the store could use a little more common sense organization. It isn’t a deal breaker for me but they have so much space and could really make a few changes for easier ordering for the customer ie having a list of the bagels facing outward where people can see it, having a bigger font menu of sandwiches, keeping drinks in one area etc. Again just some changes that I think would make the process flow more easily but it won’t stop me from eating there.

Ordered a bagel with butter and jelly. For the jelly they gave me this weird little smear on my bagel, it might as well not have been there because I couldn’t taste it at all.

Big fluffy bagels. Crispy on the outside and a soft interior, the way a NY bagel should be! Idk if it’s just me but my last couple visits to Brooklyn bagels have resulted in small, hard, almost stale like bagels. This place has them beat in taste and in price, only $ 1 per bagel!

I had high hopes for this place. I was excited to not have to wander over to Ditmars or 30^th to get a solid bagel and coffee to start my day, and its true I now don’t, however the customer service is AWFUL. They have a special right now and everytime I go in and order they try to charge me an extra 1.50 for the special and I have to remind them that I actually ordered the special. Today I even had to tell the cashier HOW to ring in the order (where do they get these people?). My coffee is always too sweet. I ask for milk and ONE sugar and no matter what they get it wrong. Its such a shame we can’t have a Brooklyn Bagel or a NYCB&CH off our stop. We had to settle for this lack luster, unhip, terribly staffed, sorry excuse for a bagel shop.

I wanted it to be good. I really did.
But I’m not sure it could’ve been much worse.
The girl who took my order was nice, and wrote down (very clearly and very slowly) exactly what I wanted, word for word, no abbreviations. Then, I went to the pick up counter while I waited for my food. 3 people came over and said «what are you waiting on?» each time I said «my bagels…» Then a girl came over and confirmed my order with me, which seemed redundant, but whatever. She then came over again to reconfirm something, and I said, «Isn’t it written on that piece of paper?» and she said it was… so I don’t really know why she needed to keep confirming.
Then I waited at least 10 MORE minutes, with more people asking me what I was waiting for, then she brought me my food and the bag was COVERED in cream cheese.
When I finally got my bagels home, I opened it up to discover I had received the WRONG BAGEL even though she checked with me multiple times and it was written out VERY clearly on the order sheet. On top of all of that, the bagel wasn’t even very good.
Needless to say, I will not be returning. I’d rather walk the 7 extra blocks to Brooklyn Bagel.
I’m giving two stars instead of one because I know this place just opened and they’re probably still trying to work out the kinks, but this was just exceptionally bad service.

Im very disappointed by this place. Astoria Blvd desperately needs a social, young hip feel to it. Ditmars, 30^th Ave, Broadway, even 36^th Ave all have it, and Astoria Blvd literaly has NOTHING exciting in the area. This space couldve been used for so many different things that would have elevated the area — a cute coffee shop with ambience and décor like Brooklyn Bagel, or a bar/​restaurant, a health food store, a MUCH needed grocery store or fresh produce. Instead what we have is YET ANOTHER bagel spot (WHY??) that is tacky and totally uninviting — A COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE and however much money was put into it. There is so much new construction coming up and nothing is being done to build the social feel of the area. All we have is Starbucks and Basil. Where do our young people go? Why do they need to walk over to another area like Ditmars or 30^th ave when we could have places a few blocks away from us.

Nice selection of bagels and cream cheese. If you are looking for sandwiches, they also have a nice selection from paninis to hamburgers! Conveniently located right across from Starbucks!

Came here on the weekend to try out this new bagel shop. It has been opened for less than a week. The place has a very nice décor to it and lots of open space/​seating and natural light. I really had high hopes for this place. I was originally going to give them 4* but the way they handled our service, our friends service, and just eavesdropping on the service of other patrons, it forced me to give this place 3*.
I had no issues with their food. I thought their bagels were good. I tried their cinnamon raisin bagel and garlic bagel. I had them toasted and both bagels still tasted great. I had cinnamon raisin walnut cream cheese in the cinnamon raisin bagel and I did not think it was overly sweet. For the garlic bagel, I had the lox cream cheese on it. The lox cream cheese wasn’t bad but in my opinion, the lox flavor wasn’t strong enough. I think this particular spread is better at other locations.
I also ordered iced coffee with vanilla and the drink just came out to be too sweet. Please dial it back.
In terms of service, there was no problems placing the order. The issue was the communication. One person took our orders and a different person prepared our bagels. Unfortunately, the person making our bagel would sometimes forget what we had ordered so would ask us again what we ordered. This wasn’t so bad but it was confounded by the fact that it happened to a lot of customers. In addition, a lot of times, the wrong bagel was made and even after telling them it was made in correctly, the supposedly «fixed» bagel was sometimes incorrectly made again. I was very patient with them but I knew a lot of other patrons were not. The good thing is that they were more than willing to rectify the mistake.
My suggestion to them is either change the system in how things are ordered and made OR use a check list menu type system where the patrons tick of boxes as to what they want so that menu can act as the order ticket and everyone will know what is ordered. This will greatly minimize the mistakes being made. If it is the case that the workers have extremely short term memory, another suggestion would be to hire workers with better memories.
Another suggestion would be to move the hanging menus forward/​closer to the ordering counter so everyone can see. The font on the menu isn’t big enough to be so far back. I don’t need a test of my eyesight while trying to order breakfast.
One last suggestion is to put the store hours somewhere. I have not been successful in finding the store hours.
I know this is their 1^st week of opening and I completely understand these issues/​woes of a new opening. I plan on coming back in 1 month because I do believe that this store can do well. I hope in the interim, some of these issues will have been resolved.
This place is such a great location for a bagel shop and it’s a welcomed alternative to dunkin donuts around the corner and starbucks across the street. Because this place is close to me, I would come here more often, but they have to get their act together.
