Really unimpressed. I needed to get acrylic nails removed, and the technician actually took an acrylic nail and forced it underneath the nails I had on to pry them off. It was pretty painful and NOT how you remove acrylic nails. My manicure was a complete waste of money(they make you tip before, sort of tacky) as it chipped within the first hour of getting it. I’d go someplace else.

I have never had a worse manicure. The nail technicians were not friendly, first of all. The girl who did my nails had no idea how to make the length of the nails on my right hand match the ones on my left hand. She seemed confused when I showed her they were all unmatching. She filed half of my nails crooked and seemed to not care at all about what she was doing. She made me bleed and acted like that was no big deal, or maybe even my own fault. No massage at the end when drying… Overall worst nail experience I have had in Astoria. Or ever for that matter.

REALLYBADFILLINGJOBSHEREBYTHEOLDERMAN!!! and he doesn’t even listen when you point out the mistakes. If I’m spending money and tipping a good amount, the very least that you can do is listen. I had nail polish on my skin and the filling was so badly done I’ll be needing another filling in two days. I’m not one to make a scene so I just walked out without even letting my nails dry when the man would not even listen. I’ve been going here for some time, even back when this place was Pink Nails. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because there is one girl there who is incredibly sweet and does a nice job. Other than that I would say save your money for better places in the area, Astoria has tons of nail salons.

This salon is under new management which is probably the reason the reviews are drastically different. I had a manicure by Vivian and it was fabulous. She took so much care in filing my nails and removing the cuticles. I couldn’t decide between two colors because I didn’t think they’d be opaque enough and without even asking her she painted each color and did two coats so I could accurately compare. Oh and don’t even get me started on Vivian’s TODIEFOR hand/arm massage. She used a combination of Vit E oil and a lovely Lemongrass & Tangerine lotion. I was literally putty in her hands.

New management has taken over. My rating is based on an average and I am planning on going back most likely for a pedicure… not sure. 5 stars= amazing eyebrow wax 2 stars= manicure 1 star= service I will admit, my eyebrows have not looked this good for a while. The lady did a fantastic job. Manicure wise, it was okay. Nothing to boast about and nothing to really complain about other than the short massage which was extremely short and the cuticle tugging. As far as service… I chose a purple color for my nails to be painted with and they just went off on each other in an Asian language while I was giving them a «wtf» look. I didn’t say anything for a good 10 minutes. After those 10 minutes of amusement, I started to get irritated. The lady, which I think could have been the owner, took the color I chose and started dangling it in the air. My exact question to her was«Is there a problem?» To which she giggled and said«Oh noooooo, I was just saying what a pretty color it was» … then she went back to her other mode. It reminded me of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde… Actually, after writing this I will see if I go back.
