History

Established in 1963.

Marianne’s Candy House was started in the Conneaut, Ohio kitchen of Marian Fedor in 1963. She sold her first 2 pounds of candy to a bakery in Conneaut. Shortly after she began, Marian’s husband, Frank, broke his leg, laying him up for «15 months and 3 days.» Marian met this challenge head on by building her candy business to provide for her family. They moved to a home in the downtown of Conneaut Ohio opening Marianne’s Candy House on the first floor. Marian’s chocolate business put all 3 of her children through college. When asked where she learned to make candy so well. «Books and trial and error. A lot of trial and error.» Lorie & Troy Dalrymple purchased Marianne’s from Marian & Frank Fedor in 2008. In 2010 Marianne’s was moved from Conneaut to the Ashtabula Harbor. Marian passed away in 2010 at 84 years old.
