Timbers Motel

My brother was driving through Ashland, OR yesterday and asked me to find him a reasonable place to sleep for the night. I went to trivago and looked for 2 stars, free wifi, and free breakfast. Timbers showed up with high ratings, over 2000 reviews, and best rate! Since I was booking it online in my name but my brother will be checking in, I was concern if there will be reservation issues, so I called Timbers and spoke to Gabby. She was very helpful and friendly. As soon as I booked the room, I called her back and she already had my confirmation and was waiting for my brother to check in. My brother liked the location — restaurant and supermarket nearby. Today, he checked out and sent me this txt: «Best motel i ever stayed. I slept for 10 hrs. Will go back again and recommend this to anybody.»

We are in a band and we’re playing at Milagros last night. We’ve had to stay in our share of awful run down hotels because we always want to save money on the road. This place was pretty inexpensive for us. We got a queen room with three queen beds for six people and it was all very comfortable. It was clean and in good working order. The man at the front desk wasn’t the most chipper person but very helpful. We would totally stay there again, worth your money!

I recently booked this place for a Thursday evening, on my way to take my son to college in California. I found another property and cancelled my reservation online. Through some error, the property did not receive the cancellation and I was charged for one night ! I called and spoke to, the very rude, manager Jeff. He refused to offer any assistance .
contacted him as well, on my behalf, and he refused as well! I wonder how he could take my money with a clear conscience? As a hospice RN, I have dealt with all kinds of people, but not one so rude and selfish ! READ the other reviews about this manager!

I am giving the motel five stars as much for phenomenal «value» as for anything else. I chose it as the break on our road trip from San Jose to Seattle. It is nestled in a very lovely part of the lovely city of Ashland. Omar’s restaurant, which is outstanding, is an easy walk and apparently the pizza parlor is also good based on others’ reports. Omar’s, and please bear in mind that I live in San Jose, CA, among some of the very worst restaurants in the world, is very, very fine and very good value as well. The Timbers continental breakfast is as good as hotels much more expensive and the rooms are actually as good as many more expensive hotels, too. We left a pair of shoes behind when we first left and they had them for us when we returned on our stay before going home. Desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I can’t imagine now staying anywhere else on a similar trip.

We called to see if a room was available and the old hippie who answered the phone gave a lecture about having patience. I don’t know what kind of business they are running here – it’s clearly rude and offensive.
Do not support TERRIBLE customer service. The man who spoke on the phone has a job he clearly doesn’t want to do.

For an inexpensive motel, this is the place to stay. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, they have microwaves and little fridges and it’s conveniently located to just about everything in Ashland. Right next door you have the Market of Choice and a good pizza joint.
The rooms all have bath tubs, good water pressure (maybe not something you worry about in the US) and plenty of hot water. And the staff are always professional and courteous.
The continental breakfast is just so so — some cereal, bananas, bagles and bagged «pastries».
We tried one other motel in the area at the same price because they said they had «private balconies». That place was absolutely awful, smelled bad and the «private» balconies were actually the public walkways outside of the rooms. We’ll never make that mistake again, we’ll always stay at the Timbers when we’re in town. (We already have our next trip booked with them, in fact.)
We’ve stayed there 3 times (maybe more) and every time they meet and exceed our expectations.

We’ve stayed here twice. We’ve found the Timbers Motel to be very nice, with friendly employees. It looks like the place was remodeled in the last few years, and our room had all the things we needed.
No extra charge for dogs, and there was a food/​water dish in the room. A big Southern Oregon Univ. lawn is right across the street.
It also helps that there’s a pizza restaurant on one side and a strip mall with a supermarket on the other.

Amazing to hear so many other reviewers mentioning the psycho manager! This guy is a complete freak who belongs nowhere near hotel patrons! Stay away!
I left my dog bowls there after staying there four nights. I went to the office later that day to get them back, and they were nowhere to be found, not in the room I’d stayed in, not in the lost and found. Not wanting to buy new ones, I even looked through the garbage. The employee who was working was very dismissive of my plight, and was sort of laughing at me and mocking me, even though clearly they were in the wrong for not putting my property in their lost and found.
I left my number for them and told them that I’d be back the next day if I didn’t hear from them. I called the next morning, and the guy told me that he didn’t have my phone number. I know that I gave him the number when checking in, and I explicitly left my number when I had been there the day before, so I told him that was not true, and he raised his voice saying «do you wanna get your dog bowls back or not?!” – as though he would have any right to keep them! He then proceeded to hang up on me!
I drove over there, and walked into the office, demanding my dog bowls back. He pulled the same routine «do you want to get your dog bowls back or not». I noticed my phone number was front and center on his desk, and I pointed that out. He then proceeded to *chase me out of the office with a can of mace*! I initially thought it was a gun, but I could see it was mace when he pointed it at my face. Running away, I told him I would call the police to get my dog bowls back, at which point he finally deigned to tell me where they were. I took them and left.
I called the police and reported it. The manager also called the police, but of course nothing was done because «no crime was committed». If you ask me, it was a crime to threaten me with mace and withhold my property, but, granted, it is hearsay. After hearing the other reports against this guy on this site, apparently it is a recurring problem. I didn’t hear of any stories quite as severe as mine, but the pattern holds that this guy is prone to completely flying off the handle over the smallest matters.
I recommend the Rodeway Inn down the road, which has nicer rooms, polite staff and a similar rate.

Pros: Inexpensive. A short walk to a nice market and good food places all close by. Free wifi in your room worked good.
Cons: Bring earplugs as this place is noisy– not street noise, but thumps and thuds all day and well in to the night. Beds were worn out –sank too deep in the middle, couldn’t get comfortable. limited parking.
I will not return here. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I wish I knew who marie b. had spoken with, because I had the same experience with the man at reception. My simple request was met with huffing and groaning as though I had just made his life very unpleasant. The request? I’d asked if he could print something for me. He was just rude and I had no idea why. I won’t go back and I won’t recommend.

Spent a night here, wish I hadn’t. Really didn’t need the confrontation from the manager over a simple matter. Jeez! I’ve never had an issue with a motel before, never complained, and I’ve stayed in a few dumps before. The lock/​dead bolt to the door stuck, making it a safety concern. The shower was near impossible to figure out, so we ended up taking sponge baths. The Wi-​Fi was broken, so no internet. When I brought up issues to the manager instead of dealing appropriately and professionally, he got angry, antagonistic and blamed me. Sheesh!
The only good thing about this motel is the location. There are better places to stay in Ashland!

Bathroom got fresh towels but otherwise was not cleaned. No WiFi internet access for first day and a half of our stay (but very fast once it worked). Heard another client complain to the front desk about her shower not working. TV was quite new but very badly located, high on top of cabinet, and it displayed an incorrectly cropped image with no way to correct it via the supplied dumbed-​down remote. Definitely will go elsewhere next time in Ashland.

2^nd time staying here. Pool, continental breakfast included, & nice clean rooms.
I stayed in a spot that was tidy and cozy, with a tv, microwave, and mini fridge.
Perhaps there was a safe and I didn’t notice.
Plenty of parking and it’s safe there for cars that are full of things.
I’ll probs stay again!

Clean, friendly and comfortable on a budget! It’s a great place to stay while visiting the University — walking distance to everything. The light breakfast of juice, coffee, fruit and toast is a nice touch to get you on your way in the morning.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights so we could go see Ashland on foot an catch a Shakespeare play.
The hotel manager was nice and always had coffee available at the front desk. The room was neat and clean, the bed was comfortable and the pool was clean and well maintained. I like the fact we got REAL KEYS instead of those cards that don’t always work. There is a very good supermarket next door and a pizza place which made staying there convenient.
We will stay here again next time we visit Ashland.

The rooms were clean, the pool was nice, and the continental breakfast was good. The negatives: 1.) People who patronize the pizza place which is adjacent to the motel parking lot also park in the motel parking lot. We had trouble finding a close enough space a couple of times, and my husband had to go move our car when a customer left. 2.) One of said pizza customers backed into my daughter’s car, denting the bumper, but didn’t let her know about it. 3.) When I first called to reserve our room, I was given a quote of $ 85 a night with our AARP discount, not including tax. Instead of charging us $ 187 for the two nights, we were charged $ 206.80, including tax.
I didn’t realize the error till we got home that afternoon and checked online, so I called and talked with an employee. I was told to call the manager, Jess, the next day. I called and talked with a very antagonistic man who barely let me explain the error. Finally, he said that apparently I didn’t get the AARP discount (although I showed my card upon our arrival), and there was nothing he could do about it now. When I suggested he could send me a check for a refund, he said that he wouldn’t do that. Very poor customer service.
That’s the LAST TIME we will be staying there. We’ve never had this much trouble at a motel in Ashland, and we’ve been going there twice a year for over a decade. Maybe this will save someone else some hassles.

My husband and I were totally charmed by our room here. We got an actual key, not another stupid keycard, to access our room. The room was large, warm, clean and inviting, had all the amenities we could ask for inside. The service was friendly and quick, too. I would have loved it if the sink was in the same room as the toilet and tub, but it was right past the door and I had to call the front desk to figure out the sneaky trick to turning on the shower, but other than that I really hope they stay exactly the same and I get to come back, right here, the next time I get the chance to swing by lovely Ashland, OR. It’s so close to downtown, too! Use expedia in the off season and it’s as cheap as they get. ($ 55/​night!)

Comfortable, clean and very inexpensive place to stay in Ashland. The town is a convenient stop on the California-​Oregon road trip that I find myself making every few years, and the Timbers is a reliably clean and cozy little motel with comfortable rooms and a helpful staff. There’s a heated pool in the summer, wifi, and a continental breakfast or (if you’re feeling hungry) a solid breakfast joint steps away from the motel.

This motel appeared nice at first with warm welcoming receptionist.
When we checked-​in, realised that toilet flush is not working. Went to staff to get it fixed, but they didnot bother to fix.
Next day morning we mentioned will like to extend our stay, subjective if they fix flush. Staff right on face declined our request.
It could have handled in better way.

Love! Stayed here this pas weekend for a last minute snow trip (Mt. Ashland). So glad we did!
Super friendly manager (via phone and checkout), clean and modern rooms, and very reasonable pricing. They’ve even got ski package deals. Cool:)
7 $ cab ride to downtown/​bars. Couldn’t be happier. Great location! Also, friendly staff at the front desk/​check in. Didn’t hurt that he’s cute too;)
