I have been using Scotts Lawn Service for over one-year. Overall their lawn spraying(weed, grubs, and fertilizer) care is pretty decent. No complaints other than several weeds along the perimeter and their grub control treatment doesn’t kill grubs. However, they just recently were acquired by TruGreen and switched from $ 29 per month to a bill you for every treatment plan. This plan works out to a lot more than the $ 29 per month I was promised. I already paid for six months this year and five months with no treatment(winter-time) this past year. Then they billed me the normal $ 29 for June 2016, plus an addition $ 199 for treatments applied in June 2016. This works out to over 7 times the amount they promised to charge me each month… and all billed in the same month – without my consent. In fact $ 199 is more than I owe for the rest of the year. And they plan on charging me additional treatment fees in July, August, September, and October. Stay away from Scotts and TruGreen as they charge a lot more than they promise and delivery less than they promise as well. I canceled my service effective today, which is important when terms of service are unilaterally changed without the consent of both parties involved.

The grass looks great. Very green and lush. The aeration operator could have used some help. I don*t know if it was sheer laziness, in a hurry or just plain stupidity, he ran up and down my side walk and driveway. There were numerous holes and broken concrete all up and down the cement. After many phone calls, I was repeatedly assured that Scotts would«make it right» and«someone would be out to take a look at it» and repairs will be made. The damage to our property happened last summer. It is now January 7th of 2016. Attempts were made to lay blame, or to make the county or community pay to repair damage, but I explained this is our property and basically it was damaged or destroyed by Scotts., or their quasi trained employee. I am still waiting for repairs… Waiting… not for phone calls or excuses… but for repairs and things to be made right. Waiting… and waiting. MJE Chesterfield County, VA

I received three calls from +1(901) 317‑4010 in Arlington, TN in rapid succession over 20 minutes and finally answered the third. It was Scott’s Lawn Service asking about setting up a time to apply a treatment. Though we had a contract with them, this was a veiled sales attempt. It soon came out that what she was attempting to schedule was not included in the contract. We’ve been bombarded with these calls ever since buying service from Scott’s. Now I’ve asked to be put on a do not call list. The full season of treatments we paid for were applied regularly. I don’t know enough about lawns or the treatments to judge the effectiveness. However, the sales calls we’ve been subjected to throughout the service period are very irritating. The come every month or so from around the country, Ohio and Tennessee come to mind as the most recent call origins. If we decide we want our lawn treated next season, we’ll find a local company that applies organic products.
