Advanced Myotherapy specializes in pain relief, both acute and chronic, using multiple therapeutic techniques including neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy technique and energy medicine.

History

Established in 1989.

Janie Chandler and Joseph Micketti have lived and practiced therapeutic massage in Southern Oregon since 1989. They have been long-​time instructors at the Ashland Institute of Massage, and are co-​owners of their private practice, Advanced Myotherapy. The duo’s work and good deeds have (literally) touched the lives of thousands of people. Joseph alone estimates that he has worked with over 300 hundred students, now many of them local practitioners themselves; and both Janie and Joseph have logged in over 10,000 hours of massage. Janie holds additional training in energy medicine and is an Advanced Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner and a senior faculty member of Donna Eden’s energy medicine training programs.

Quite simply, their level of hands-​on experience and training has allowed Janie and Joseph to attain a level of mastery that can only come with time and commitment.

Business Owner

Joseph Micketti LMT, NMT, initially approached the medical field as an x-​ray tech with a degree from Northern Michigan University. After working in hospitals for several years, he recognized the healing power of touch, as well as the power of a person’s life force in their own healing. After moving to Colorado, he turned his focus to massage and enrolled in the Boulder School of Massage Therapy, graduating in 1986. He began his career as a massage therapist, working in Colorado Chronic Pain Clinic, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This included an apprenticeship and was his introduction to the study of neuromuscular therapy. In 1989 he moved to the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon and opened Advanced Myotherapy with his wife Janie. He has been on the faculty of the Ashland Institute of Massage since 1995.
