What an absolute blast! Not only is this an incredibly convenient situation to break from the normal wine-​on-​the-​couch routine, but it is also a great excuse to turn off your internal critic and have fun! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed numerous classes at this particular Wine and Design, and I could not have asked for more than they provided: wit, whimsy, and humor from the instructor all while truly facilitating a great learning experience… and no clean up! I love the repeated line «there are no mistakes at Wine and Design, just happy accidents.» The instructor I’ve had each time has been thorough and helpful while also keeping it light and fun. I will most definitely be back!

Wine and Design is the perfect night out for a group of indecisive friends that need to relax. Really! You choose what you’d like to learn to paint, come in with everything already set out for you, and the instructor feeds you the steps to make your chosen painting. Easy. You’ll be so concentrated on your beautiful piece of art that your worries melt away for your visit.
Each time I have been I have had Hannah G. as my instructor. She’s very kind, helpful, and informative. It’s in a really supportive environment too, no negative thoughts allowed! Everyone’s pieces always turn out different with each person’s personal style. It’s neat to see and compare at the end of class how they all turned out! And if you need help or have questions you are always urged to ask them for whatever you need. You paint with acrylic, too, which is super easy to paint over if you need to fix something.
They always have group specials and Groupons. If you don’t want to paint in the studio, they also do classes at restaurants sometimes too, just check their calendar.

Really enjoyed my 2 hour paint class. Instructor was very helpful and created a warm and fun space to work. Class moved at a good pace (my first time taking one of these classes); had extra time at a break and end to add additional touches. Met lots of other women traveling and taking advantage of the groupon offer. Had a great class and would return.

I just attended a Wine and Design class for the first time with my 22 years old daughter, who was home visiting from college. Everyone was extremely friendly. We arrived 15 minutes early, and settled in. Everyone brought snacks from home and put them on the table in the back to share. I added my fruit and cheese tray to the snack table. They provided plenty of cork screws for the wine bottles and bottle openers for the beer.
I brought my own wine glasses. If you don’t bring your own, you can use plastic cups that are provided (plastic plates and napkins are also provided). The atmosphere was jovial and the instructor made us all relax and have a good time. I love that Asheville is so pet-​friendly. the instructor had 2 dogs that attended the class with us. They were both well behaved and adorable. I had a wonderful evening with my daughter. I have no artistic skill whatsoever, but my finished painting was actually quite great! I will definitely be coming back !!

I went to Wine and Design last weekend with my family. I’ve definitely experienced better in the Raleigh area and although this is in Asheville I went to another BYOB painting class in Asheville which was significantly cheaper and better. The biggest turn off for me was the enormous dog that is walking around inside. I saw him/​her as soon as I got to the door. I told the lady at the front that I’m very allergic to dogs and she said she would put him/​her away. I could hear her loudly telling the other lady who worked there that shes never left the dog in the car before. There was another room where she could have put the dog. It was at least another 15 – 20 mintues before she left with the dog. She did not care at all about my allergies and I woke up the next day with my eyes swollen and in hives. They are very inconsiderate and should take their client’s allergies into account. I didn’t pay $ 35/​person for 4 people to end up having to need medical attention for insincere people. Definitely will not be going again and would not recommend.
While the daisy we painted was okay the instructor did lack on that end as well. She was vibrant but not very helpful in regards to how to make a painting better.
