Deanna did a fantastic job with my hair on the day of my wedding/​elopement. My stick straight hair typically only holds curls for a few hours at most however Deanna managed to get them to stay for 2 days! I absolutely loved my hair and enjoyed our conversation throughout the process. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I have been going to Willow’s Dream for several years and couldn’t be happier with any other salon! The gift shop is always stocked with funky/​retro items and the discount on day of service is just an added perk. My stylist/​hair guru is Amanda Maciog and I cannot say enough great things about her! She is AMAZING with color and always gives me what I want but she isn’t afraid to tell me if she doesn’t think something will look good… which I absolutely appreciate! I would definitely recommend Willow’s Dream and particularly Amanda!

Amber cut my hair today. It was her first day at this salon. She is awesome! She made me feel welcome and like an old friend even though I am from California and she will probably never see me again! My hair had the best cut that it has had in a long while! If you are in Asheville (and if I’m ever in the area again), definitely visit Amber to have a great experience!

I have been coming to Willow’s Dream for almost ten years now. Amanda Maciog is my stylist who not only gives me a great haircut each time I go in but keeps me entertained with her clever, sharp wit and conversation. Her knowledge of products, coloring and hair care are on point. It’s always a great day when I get to sit in her chair!

Amanda Maciog has been cutting and coloring my hair for years and she is the best hairstylist I’ve encountered here in Asheville. She’s a precision haircutter, yet she adds her own touch and creativity to each cut. She’s a fantastic colorist as well. I’ve had every hair color imaginable and Amanda always gets it right.

Deanna at Willow’s Dream was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad! I am in AVL temporarily and needed a haircut, and she did a great job and had some great suggestions for how to grow my hair out in the future. Also there is a cute gift shop in front of the salon!

Anna D has cut my hair twice, and although I’m still not sure what I want, I’ve gotten nothing but compliments both times! She’s bright, fun and friendly and I’ll continue to be a happy client in the future. the salon is fun, bright and warm, as are all the staff. The shop on the first floor has some great gifts, jewelry and clothing.

Everyone at Willow’s Dream was very kind and helpful and Laurie did an awesome job cutting my hair, I rarely treat myself to a hair cut so she had to fix the uneven bangs that I had cut myself :) She texturized my thick hair to get rid of some of the weight for a lighter summer cut and she did a great job getting my unruly cowlicks to behave without even adding gel or hairspray. I would recommend Willow’s Dream and Laurie McGuire if you want a great haircut with people who are down to earth, not snobby and will listen to you. I’ll be back :)

I hate to give this place a bad review, and its really not the salon as whole, but my particular stylist Steve. I’ve been contemplating this review for days, and instead of cooling off I’m getting more unsatisfied the more I think about it. The receptionist was very friendly on the phone. The salon is beautiful, whimsical and quirky. I went in with a clear idea of what I wanted. My whole life my hair has been loonnggg, with long layers and some wispy bangs. I haven’t had it cut in over year, being a busy new mom with a tight budget. This salon came highly recommended by coworkers (Deanna in particular). Due to childcare and time constraints, I couldn’t get in with Deanna. I told Steve I wanted a long bob, and an ombré to cover up some old red color and to lighten me up for summer. He immediately told me he doesn’t do ombres and a million reasons why. Ok then… He then told me he wouldn’t do a long bob on me because he thought I wouldn’t be happy with how much shorter my hair would be. I was confused. I came in here wanting something new and fresh and was flat out denied. He proceeded to give me a $ 20 Fantastic Sam’s straight across blunt cut that falls just below my shoulders. I kept asking him to add movement and dimension. I was at least looking forward to the blowout. I usually leave the salon looking like a Victorias Secret model, my hair is thick and full of volume and styles well. He blow dryed and flat ironed my hair completely staright and flat to my head. No volume, no lightness, no life. I seriously could’ve went to any strip mall salon and got this for $ 20, instead I payed $ 45 plus a $ 12 tip. He assured me when I let my hair air dry it would curl up nicely and have volume. I washed and let my hair air dry the next day, because of the straight across blunt cut its bushy at the ends instead of decending nicely. The more I try to work with this cut, the more I hate it. There’s no way that I can afford to go back in somewhere to get what I wanted in the first place so I’m stuck with this for awhile. I just wanted a fresh to make me feel good about myself, being a new mom I never get that. Instead I was denied what I wanted and I feel robbed. I’m sure there are some great stylist here, avoid Steve. $ 57 gone and I wish I would’ve waited for Deanna

I’m not usually quick to trust hairstylists to «get» what it is I want done and then properly execute that, but upon meeting Krisha I totally trusted her to chop off most of my hair on a whim one day, and I am absolutely elated with my haircut. She was so kind, personable, and talented. She really listened to and understood what I described to her, and I’m so lucky to have found such a great hairstylist on my first try since moving to Asheville.

Very cool location and great stylists. Michelle colored my hair and it turned out exactly as I wanted it. Make sure to check out the rooftop deck on a pretty day.

Leah Krause just joined Willow’s Dream, leaving a corporate spa. She is very professional and knowledgeable about nails and I gladly followed her! She is still creating her own space here. I recommend her, and have booked my next appointment there already.

I’m a 29 year old man who has honestly never had a haircut I was proud of before finding Steve at willows dream. He explained the science of hair growth and how my hair specifically grows and why certain hair cuts wouldn’t work for me and face shape. He’s fast, personable, and affordable. I just can’t say enough good things about my experiences. I’ve already made a fourth appointment. Thanks Steve!

I found Willow’s Dream and Deanna from a friend’s recommendation. I have had such a good experience, now on my 3^rd round of cut and color! Deanna is amazing with color, and gratefully, has had a natural sense about what to do to with my hair. I came in with a challenging color situation as a result of henna (reddish) coloring that I have been trying to grow out, and she created a high and low light scheme (without bleach!) that made it all look unified and actually fantastic! I have been very impressed. She is laid back, enjoyable to talk to, uses Phyto natural products and has also taught me a few styling tricks for my hair. I also really enjoy the ambiance of the salon with the bright airy space and the mixture of antique furniture and art. Bonus is the roof-​top patio I got to sit on while my color was developing :)

Amanda Reid cuts my hair here, and she is amazing. Friendly, perceptive, imaginative… she always gives me exactly what I want, even when I’m not sure how to describe it. The «new» location downtown (they’ve been there a while now) is convenient, with its own parking lot. I know they do other services there, and they seem to do them well, but I’m really only interested in hair, and I’m very happy with Amanda.
Another plus: online booking system that works great.

Love this place! I wish I lived in Asheville so I could be a regular. Sonia did my pedicure and was amazing. I felt like I was walking on pillows afterwards. If I had more time I would’ve scheduled a massage with her. I’ll definitely be back!

Heather has been making my hair amazing for the past year. I have blonde curly hair and she has mastered the art of natural blonde highlights and color. I have lived in NYC and Chicago and this woman is just as good, if not better, than any top stylist in a major city. Go to her, you will not regret it!

Great salon. They take me walk in. In a coup, they stole away several popular stylists from another great local salon. I like Jack who cuts my hair. People are nice. Trippy place in an old house. Easy to miss on busy Merrimon Avenue. They sell stuff… knick nacks and gifts.
