Established in 2013.

Owners John Kerr and Gina Trippi moved to Asheville to enjoy the beautiful mountains and mild weather. They bring years of experience in wine and a passion for customer service. Metro Wines serves the local customer in Asheville and ships anywhere State laws will allow.

I cannot express how thankful I am to Andy at Metro Wines for his amazing service in helping me ship this package of wine to my family. Things with UPS did not go smoothly but Andy was nothing but helpful and easy to work with. Seriously one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you so much!

I don’t do 5 stars… well, virtually NEVER (think I’ve given one other 5 star)
BUT…
I bought a box of wine (hey, there’s some REALLY good wines that come in boxes.)
opened it 2 hours after getting home — it was vinegar!
As I’m leaving town early tomorrow, and the 2 other bottles I bought I gave away as Xmas presents, I was in a dither… couldn’t drive back (it’s 30 degrees, and no car — motorcycle!), so
I called in hopes of at least being credited… and …
they DELIVERED A REPLACEMENT!!! John drove over, agreed that it wasn’t any good, and cheerily took back the bad one.
This is customer service to the MAX… now I’ve always been impressed with their staff (hi Anita!) and their wine knowledge. They’ve consistently recommended great wines (and econimical too!), even when I haven’t known quite what I’m looking for.
I am now COMMITTED to Metro for life! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

This is my favorite wine store ever. We just moved from Atlanta to Asheville and enjoy walking to Metro Wines. John the owner is so helpful and very knowledgeable. Andy is also great and super friendly. Don’t let the small size of the store fool you they have a large selection. This little wine store always has something going on from free wine tastings, book readings or hosting an important fund raiser. Highly recommend.

The service was ah-​mazing. I called to have a gift basket made and delivered to a sick friend in the hospital. John made the experience easy even though I was a thousand miles away. The basket was beautiful. The delivery was prompt and he even called me and confirmed when it made it to the hospital. Thank you.

I just finished my Christmas shopping at Metro Wines. This is a true gem of a local owned business in Asheville. Has a great selection and the staff are just delight. They are friendly and their knowledge will guide you in your selection. I recently attended a wine tasting and it was so much fun. They deserve a five star rating.

Metro Wines compared to the other popular wine stores in Asheville does deserve the highest rating. It’s a joy to shop there and the owners/​managers are extremely helpful and friendly. I find that I get the better wines by letting them help pick the selections. Keeping in mind my limited budget they do a great job. I also participate in the monthly wine club which is a bargain for the quality of wines you receive. Who doesn’t like a case of wine waiting for you each month. I’ve also been to a couple of their special events and they’re fun and good way to meet the neighbors. Hint: Get to know the people managing the place. They have charisma and good taste in wines without snobbery.

A bigger selection than you might imagine. The owners are very knowledgeable and can find just about any wine you want. I asked for a Sardinian wine I had at Rezaz, and John went right to the shelves and found it! Always something available for tasting. And always a good explanation of the wine.
