My family enjoyed the fried chicken and pulled pork biscuits. However my mom and grandma shared a freshly squeezed OJ… Which did not sit well with them at all. I emailed the manager and they said it’s possible that the orange juice had been kept overnight. If that’s the case, I’m disappointed that they market«day old OJ» as «freshly squeezed OJ.»

I’ve wanted to try this place for a few months now. This place was everything that I thought it would be. If you can stomach a little wait time, it is definitely worth it. I tried two different biscuits — the brisket biscuit and the catfish biscuit. The Brisket biscuit has amazing brisket and is a masterpiece. Check out my pictures — you’ll want to make a trip just because of them.

I’m a fan of anywhere that makes biscuits as big as your face, but this place has a butter and jam bar where you can choose as many delicious spreads for your biscuit as you want. This was a highly recommended breakfast option when I visited Asheville and it certainly did not disappoint. Stop in and try it out!

Nice place very busy but good service nice people. Love the variety of biscuit gravy. Got to love a flight of gravy! Also love the assortment of jams to try and sauces! Was in a kinda weird place reminded me of a apartment complex? But do yourself a big favor and GOHERE! And enjoy!

Heaven on a plate. I’ve been craving biscuit head ever since that first plate of food arrived. I had a classic with fried green tomatoes on top. The biscuit was fluffy wonderful, the egg and tomato were perfect, and the sauces were life-changing. It’s so fun to try all of their different homemade butters and jams and hot sauces. I took home peach rosemary jam, and my friend took home the sweet potato chai spread(we’re both obsessed). The only downsides are that they didn’t have any sweet orange habanero sauce for sale(so good!) and they’re not in Atlanta. My hubby’s potato salad was great, too. :) Can you guys please open up a location in Atlanta? Preferably in Decatur? Preferably in my kitchen? Thank you!!!

Came for gluten-free Asheville Bennie with kale on top! Yum. Sat outside(in the parking lot) but still enjoyed the chirping of birds and warm breeze.

I was really excited to try Biscuit Head. I found this place on Unilocal(thanks to all the great reviews) and I was not disappointed at all! I came during brunch on Memorial Day weekend and the line was out the door, so be prepared to wait but the line goes pretty fast. I ordered the Mimosa Fried Chicken Biscuit, the Biscuit and gravy flight(fried chicken, pork sausage, and sweet potato coconut). The biscuit and gravy flight was so good! My favorite was the pork sausage, nice chucks of sausage and the gravy was so flavorful! The Mimosa Fried Chicken biscuit did not disappoint either. Its definitely a biscuit I had to eat with a fork and knife. This is a must try breakfast/brunch spot, I love the laid back, quaint feel at this restaurant.

With a name like Biscuit Head, what could go wrong? Not much, really. This location is kind of strange, as it looks like it is in the middle of an old apartment complex. There are a few picnic tables outside and more tables inside. We had heard about long lines out the door, but we got there at 9 am on a Saturday and had only a couple of people in front of us at the ordering counter.(Traffic did start to pick up around 10, presumably as the hung-over beer crowds started rousing to life). I ordered the country ham biscuit and was impressed by the size of this plate for $ 8. It came with a fried green tomato on top and a side of «red-eye» gravy. I didn’t care much for the gravy, and I found the dish overall to be a little too salty(I expected it to be salty, naturally, because of the ingredients, but even the biscuit was slightly over-iodinized, I thought) but still delicious. I barely finished it. They also have a jam bar with all sorts of jellies and preserves for your biscuits. Overall, excellent concept and execution for a breakfast joint.

Came here for brunch with the gals and ordered the vegan Cajun Benedict with Smoked grits. I was quite disappointed with my meal. I love grits ever since the south got me hooked so brunch is quite exciting when I see grits on the menu. Why do they call it smoked grits if there is only a tablespoon of cheese? Look at my picture. The grits were unfortunately bland. The benedict would probably be better if it wasn’t vegan; the dish was too simple — if I go out to eat, it has to be something I can’t make myself. So what is impressive? Their insane amount of jam. There are so many flavors and they are all so wonderful! I tried them all of course.

Highly recommend coming here if ever in the Asheville area. I loved my breakfast here! It was so delicious and definitely one to remember. The dining is very casual and the food is brought out quickly. We got here on the earlier side(around 9 am) and were able to get a picnic table outside for 7. The line was definitely way longer as we were leaving around 10 so I would recommend getting here early or just be prepared to wait. I ordered the quinoa scramble. It was amazing! So tasty and unlike something I’ve had before. It was super filling. The quinoa was a cool touch to the eggs and the kale and mushrooms and tomatoes made it taste even better. I loved this dish. Can’t forget about the biscuits. This is really what they’re known for and there’s a clear reason why. They are HUGE. And super delicious. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jam and butter bar here is a must. There were so many to choose from. My favorite was the sweet potato chai jam. This made the biscuit taste like dessert. The banana foster jam and the regular berry jams were delicious as well. You can try each one if you want to!

This place lives up to the hype. Wish it was a little bit roomier, but it’s still nice and cozy. Expect a line and a bit of a wait to be seated. The biscuits are literally the size of my face(at least the«regular biscuit» order is!) and lots of jams and jellies and butters to choose from. The mimosas are probably the best I’ve ever had — you can tell the orange juice is fresh, and they don’t skimp on their champagne like most places do! The special today was pimento cheese grits and damn was it amazing. I will always, always be back to this place to stuff my face whenever I am in the area! COMEHUNGRY, leave HAPPY!

I will start with why I gave 4 stars and not 5. The carmelita latte was terrible… a horrible taste and even worse after taste. The biscuit was amazing though! Of course it was very busy with a line out the door, which based on other pictures and reviews I was prepared for. I has a basic sausage, egg, and cheese. I personally was not fond of the flavor of the sausage. My mom had a country Ham and Cheddar biscuit and absolutely loved it! This place is an absolute must if you are visiting or even local.

What a great concept, but the food was cold and the chef gave me an attitude when I asked him to warm it up — further trying to convince me eggs and hollandaise are supposed to be at room temperature. Like I’ve never had eggs Benedict in my life. I’m from NYC. Get real. It’s a hot dish when it’s fresh. At least the poor desk guy was trying to patch up the chef’s rudeness until the second I walked out the door, which was really nice of him, and earns this review an extra star. The coffee was weak too though. I’m sure there are better places in the area for breakfast. Maybe the other Biscuit Head location doesn’t argue with their customers. I’ll give that one a shot before I leave…

I genuinely love the concept of gourmet biscuits, but I question some of the ingredient choices picked by the chefs here. As this was my first time, I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with the extensive menu. I ordered the mimosa chicken biscuit. This included slaw, sweet potato purée, poached egg, and of course the biscuit. The biscuit itself was quite tasty, and the chicken itself was different but nothing special. What failed to me was how all of the ingredients blended together… or didnt. My biggest issue was that because there was so much slaw, the entire dish got cold before I was even a third of the way in. It was quite disappointing. Also, the slaw was sweet and the sweet potato purée was sweet. Thus, there was really no savory aspect of the biscuit until I drenched it in hotsauce. Even then i believe it just made the dish worse. I downed the entire thing because I was hungry, but I am not quite sure if this was a smart pairing of ingredients.

In a useless attempt to burn off some calories pre-emptively, my friend and I ran hear from our AirBnb where we were staying. However, that was not nearly enough to prepare us for the gluttony that was about to ensue. We only ordered one biscuit sandwich to split– the mimosa fried chicken. Definitely recommend this choice. The chicken was crispy and slightly sweet, and it came with a delicious slaw, sweet potato butter, and a poached egg. OMG it was heavenly. I wanted to try all the different cool sauces they have, but the biscuit sandwich was so yummy on its own that I did not want to take away from any of that flavor. Note that it is a little bit hard to find and easy to drive right past– it is in an office building area and we had trouble finding it at first. The line can be outrageously long I have heard, but when we were there it wasn’t very long and it moved quickly. I can see seating being an issue when it gets more crowded but we did not have that problem. I need to come back here so that I can try everything on this menu because it is all amazing.

We had such high expectations for this place. We woke up early — got in line and got more and more excited. Maybe we ordered wrong but the food was kind of meh. The atmosphere and people were super nice but the jams and butters were soooooo sweet. The biscuits were good but huge and maybe not the best I’ve ever had. The gravy flight is a great deal — yes. You can try a variety of savory options(our favorite was the red eye gravy). The mimosa chicken biscuit was good but the sweet potato butter was so sweet it overpowered the rest of the dish. I ordered a maple ham special and it was too much and again — too sweet. Glad we went but I’d probably not go back…

I’ve only been once, and I usually don’t throw around 5 stars after one visit, but holy biscuits, Batman! This place IS as good as it gets. Besides the fact that it’s centered around biscuits, a southern breakfast staple, it’s DELICIOUS to boot. Seriously, so good. After hearing people rave about this place, I finally dragged my pops to that«busy new biscuit restaurant» he had been avoiding. He was worried about parking, traffic, etc. But parking was a breeze, since this location is in an office park. Traffic wasn’t terrible either. Once inside, we waited for only a few minutes since it’s counter service, and a table was reserved for us immediately after we ordered. The place is quite small and intimate, so on really crowded days, I could see it taking much longer. But we went on a Friday and waited less than 5 minutes to order and get a table. On to the most important part: THEFOOD I had the fried green tomato Benedict biscuit with a side of potatoes to share. It was great and a huge serving. I couldn’t finish it all, and it definitely kept me full for the rest of the day. My dad ordered the pull pork Benedict, which was also fantastic. There is a jam and butter bar, too! This is real. We tried the blackberry jam — my fav! I have to go back just so I can try more of their homemade jams and butters. Can’t wait! This will definitely be on my must-do list every time I am in town.

Hands down my favorite meal while visiting Asheville. Wish I’d had an extra morning in town to go twice! There were only a few people in line in front of us when we showed up at 9:30 on a Monday morning. Line moved rather quickly and there was no wait for a table.(You order at the counter, get a number, seat yourself, and they bring your food to the table.) I got my hot chocolate right away, which comes in a cup and is automatically made with whole milk unless you ask for skim. I ordered the gravy flight and am so glad I did. Such a great deal and, omg, so effing good. For my three gravy options, I chose the sweet potato coconut(tasted like a delicious curry), tomato scallion special, and fried chicken. Each was better than the last. And, as a bonus, the biscuit is just so large that I had enough left over to go to the toppings/spreads bar to try some other delicious jellies, etc. My husband had the mimosa fried chicken biscuit. So large and good. Came topped with a delicious sweet potato spread of some sort. The poached egg is really unnecessary in that this is already so good and sizable, you wouldn’t miss it if it wasn’t there. We also shared a side of fried green tomatoes(because at this point who’s counting calories) and they were pretty good and not at all greasy.

The Asheville food scene is amazing! Such fun! And the FLAVORS! Holy moly, so, speaking of flavors, Biscuit Head has them all. From the variety of gravies, to the assortment of jams, Biscuit Head has you covered if you want big, bold flavors early in the AM. Located in a… Im not even sure what you call the area. Small strip mall? But I don’t think the other buildings were restaurants. So maybe it was a small office space? Im not sure. I was driving a rental, so all I cared about was getting to my destination without hitting or being hit by any other cars. Ha. Anyway, the place is small, so like everyone says, make sure you get there early. The place does a great job of streamlining everything. You have menus outside and inside so please use them to your advantage and know what you want when you get up there. You order, pay, and then find a seat and wait to be served. I was a little confused on the tipping part. Well, my family made me confused. There was a tip jar next to the person that takes your order. But I’m always used to tipping at the table, after the service has been provided. My family threw in a few bucks at the tip jar and then we watched as no one seemed to tip as they left. This creeped me out. Im sure theres a reason for it, but I couldn’t handle leaving a table without a tip on it. So I left a few more bucks. I guess everyone works together and they split it at the end? Who knows. you can never tip enough, so yeah. On to the food! *yayyyy!*. So We ordered the gravy flight because seriously, if theres a flight of something, I’m getting it, and if its GRAVY then I’m REALLY getting it! Our gravy flight consisted of: Fried chicken Gravy, Sweet Potato Coconut, and the Gravy of the day which I think was some sort of spicy sausage? But, omg, yes. I got the Sweet Potato Coconut one because that sounds super fun and crazy. And it was. Woo the flavors were great! It was more. curry flavored though than the sweet american style I was thinking of. The Fried chicken gravy was THEBEST! So I got the Brisket Biscuit. I was innnnnn heaven! The biscuits are full and fluffy and f*king amazing. Everything on the biscuit paired perfectly together. The only thing was the goat cheese. They put just a dash on there. And while I was eating my biscuit I remember two or three bites where I died and went to heaven(I mean, just a little more so than all the other bites) and that was when I got a taste of the goat cheese(smoked chevre). I really wish I had a little bit more. but then again I don’t know if more would have been too much. Especially for most people because I don’t think a lot of people are true goat cheese lovers. But I thought that that cheese seriously was the perfect finishing touch of flavor on my palette! So, I’m not complaining! I’m just, being greedy. But I get why they wouldn’t add too much! My sister got the Mimosa fried chicken biscuit and, omg, I’m just now realizing I didn’t even try a bite of hers!!! Dang it! I think I was so enamored in my own meal in front of me I blacked out for a bit. Well, she said hers was delicious. So, I’ll take her word on it. The gravies are thick and delicious, as are the biscuits. You’re getting huge portions. This is legit a big ass hearty breakfast! I seriously couldn’t eat the rest of the day. If anyone gives this establishment anything other that 5 stars I might have to question if they even like food. or flavor. This place is not for the bland of heart. Amazing, amazing, amazing! This will be a staple of mine every time I visit Asheville.
