I’ve been a customer here for a few years. These guys have some really high quality slab lumber for a pretty reasonable price. They also carry a wide selection of tools. When I need material, this is definitely the first place I stop in at.

Beautifully selected wood slabs. Great selection of Festool tools. Also nice that they have a large used selection of tools for purchase.

Never again. Misinformation, excuses and 6 hours of driving. I delivered some band saw blades to this business. They said they would be available Tuesday week, but when I showed up during their regular business hours(as posted on their website) they were closed. A sign was on the door saying closed due to weather. I drove 50 miles to get to the store – the roads and the weather were fine. On my second trip to get my blades I showed up two days later and no band saw blades. They blamed the weather on Tuesday and then said because they didn’t have any orders for their sharpening guys they had not called them to do a pickup and as a result my blades weren’t back yet. Per their website: «Turn around time is one week: Drop off before 5pm MONDAY and pick up following TUESDAY.» This is a real reputable business. They have been around a long time, but this was clearly their screw up. Why wasn’t I called on Tuesday saying they would be closed? They clearly had said for me to just show up after lunch and the blades would be there. Then the excuses on Thursday? Why weren’t the blades delivered on Wednesday, their next day open? Now in order to get these blades I will have driven 300 miles and spent 6 hours in my car. Never again. I will never use this business again. Update: It has now been two weeks and still no blades. They said they would call me when the blades were in(I was told this directly on Thursday February 19th, last week). It is now Thursday February 26th and no phone call. These band saw blades were originally dropped off on Tuesday February 3rd and should have been back on the 17th. What is up with this business?!? Update: Finally got a call at 2:34pm on Tuesday March 3rd saying the blades were in. They were supposed to take 1 week(according to their own website) and they took 3 weeks. It will be interesting to see what excuses they come up with when I pick up the blades. Picked up the blades. $ 12 a piece for work that was two weeks late. Unbelievable. I would have Fedexed these to my customer’s house(because of my business’ mistake) or delivered them in person. Absolutely unbelievable.

Very impressive selection of large wood slabs and specialty tools. Not a great deal of hardware and the tool prices are a little high.

The guys at Asheville Hardware are great to deal with and their selection of tools and supplies are superb. I can always count on finding a perfect hard-to-find item or the best woods there!
