I normally LOVE this place but I have to tell you I am so grossed out right now… I got a take home dosh, finally sat down to a movie and dinner in the dark to relax and bit into a plastic glove!!! Of course there is no voicemail, active Facebook face or email to send them contact or photos but trust me… I’ll be letting them know!!!

The food here was great! Got got specials baked Zito and chicken rigatoni that included salad and bread for $ 7.99. Large portions and we both took half our meal home. Pita bread was good to. All the dressing are house made.

5 stars? Hmmm… You people don’t get out very often, eh? Ha Ha! But, I really do like this place. Been here a few times visiting my In Laws in town(came from Phoenix). Great family atmosphere, pretty decent service(very, very busy both times we went), but not perfect: Had to flag down servers a few times for drink re-fills, ketchup, etc. Have had both the pizza and sandwiches, which were both excellent. The sandwich I had last time, roast beef sub, was HUGE, and delicious. Looking forward to going here again when we visit NC, annually.

Fantastic every time. Excellent quality, quick service, affordable, family pleasing, total package. We get it when traveling thru Asheville for a break from the drive; or for take out as we cruise thru town. Can’t miss.

Ate here a few days ago, had the lamb gyro and it was excellent. They were super fast getting the food out, overly nice, and very reasonably priced. We will be back if visiting the area.

One of our families new favorites. Shared appetizers & deserts. Brother said his lasagna was best he’d ever had. Service wonderful & owner attentive. Will definitely go again next time in Asheville.

Third time coming here, and impressed every time. Being NYE, my expectations were set lower, but should have been higher. Ordering by phone – very sweet, attentive person to order with, gave time frame. Timeframe exceeded. Everything was fresh, good portion sizes, good prices. I made the mistake of not ordering exactly what I wanted by accident, but still loved what I received and ate every bit of it. Lamb Gyro for me and pepperoni pizza for my husband. The pizza was also Awesome! Not too much sauce, great brown on the crust but still soft and chewy /great texture, and the cheese was amazing. Lots of it and good quality. Quite impressed, especially for NYE at 8:15. All the way around very impressive. Thank you!

We were in town for a couple of days and were over by the outlets at lunchtime. We checked Unilocal, and made our way to Apollo Flame to try some local flavor. When we walked in, we were greeted by a kind host who immediately sat us at a booth. Our very friendly server arrived quickly and took our drink orders while we checked their extensive menu. We noticed their subs being served and they were huge, but we went with a the small Apollo Supreme pizza and we shared a regular tossed salad with Greek dressing. The small pizza was the perfect size for 2 or even 3, with 8 pieces. Everything was fresh and delicious, the tea was perfectly sweet. We could tell that this place is a local favorite, with a bustling dining room at the 1 o’clock hour on a Saturday, yet no wait for a table. They are efficient, and we observed such friendliness by the host(carrying a diaper bag for a customer who had her hands full). I love a place with friendly service in addition to serving excellent food. Highly recommend.

Apollo Flame is always a good go to for Greek food. They have multiple locations in the Asheville area. The Lamb Gyro Pita is always a solid choice. There are a few things that are different between locations. Here they offer the Stuffed Grape Leaves which are a nice add on. Never had a bad meal here.

Pretty tasty Greek/Mediterranean. Had the lamb gyro platter with fresh salad. Dressing was excellent: herby and lots of feta. Busy so obviously a local favorite. Price wise decent($ 10 for my meal.) Many entrees were $ 10 – 12. Pizza looked yummy as well.

What can I say about Apollo Flame Bistro on Brevard Rd that is not good… NOTHING! This is the closest restaurant to our home and we eat AFB grub OFTEN! Most typically, I just call our order in and go pick it up… always hot and ready within 20 minutes. I have yet to write a review so I will lump some things together. Gyro platters are off the chart, both lamb AND chicken! MUCHFOOD! So much Greek salad that one cannot possible eat it all! Greek meatballs to die for! So moist and succulent… comes with a small Greek salad. Hot Sub sandwiches… I think I have probably tried them all. Very good. Pasta dishes, great! But what prompts this review is that I have a special love of anchovy pizza and NO one else that I know likes anchovies. So, last night I ordered a small onion, mushroom and anchovy pizza all for ME! I ate the whole thing. It was delicious! Perfect balance of sauce, moz cheese and anchovies. Often restaurants will either overkill the anchovies or underkill the anchovies… not AFB… perfect! In fact, I wish I had saved at least one piece for a snack right now! Prices are good… service is great! They do not have a full bar, only beer and wine, but that is fine! We love some Apollo Flame Bistro!

I really like this place. I’ve been to lunch here several times. This place is lunchtime crazy! In the middle of lunch rush you still can count on being seated right away. Food is always served extremely quick. Shrimp basket is ENORMOUS. No way can I finish it by myself. I shared the meatball sub with my daughter. ZERO complaints from the staff for«sharing!» In house greek dressing is really good! Try the salad. I repeat, get a salad! If not your entrée, get a side salad!

The salad was good as billed and the service was decent for a busy Friday. They were full. I had the gyro plate and was a bit surprised by the deli sliced thickness of the gyro meat. The Greek salad dressing is obviously homemade as it comes out of the corona bottles and is really tasty. The kids pita pizza looked pretty good, but two small meatballs on the kids spaghetti and meatballs was a bit skimpy. A friend had the pasta three ways and looked like a good decision. They had a good beer selection for a Greek restaurant. Fair pricing too. I would go again.

We found this place by accident while driving from Charlotte to Gatlinburg, and it was amazing. In fact, of all the places we visited during the two-week vacation, this was the only one we came back to. The food was good, the prices reasonable, and the staff did an amazing job of balancing the normal tables with a group of about 30. Considering the vast differences of taste within the people in our group, there was still no problem finding something for everyone. Thank you very much, and well done!

I was out with my wife running some errands and she asked if we could stop in to eat here as she has visited a few times before. We were immediately seated in a very busy lunch hour. All of the wait staff was hopping so I was impressed at the service we received during this lunch hour. I chose the Greek salad which WASHUGE… Everything was fresh and delicious. The only thing I didn’t particularity care for on this salad was the feta. I prefer the feta crumbles rather than grated feta cheese. My wife had the shrimp platter which I «tasted» & I have to say well done! The shrimp were fried but with a light batter and just enormous. I think I might try this or the Gyro platter on my next visit.

We ordered food to go and they lost the order. After leaving the manager called and said they had the order and would deliver it free of charge.

Came here for my lunch break while on a training I had to do for work. Nice bright atmosphere and friendly staff. The food came out incredibly fast. I had the veggie pita with Greek salad. Their homemade Greek dressing was delicious. Not much flavor in anything else but it was all made with fresh and crunchy produce and served super fast at a great price so no complaints!

Nothing amazing but good. I think the main selling point here is the price point of food. We enjoyed the Greek salad, which was exactly as you would expect and a spinach pizza. Greek salads are always good as long as they have the staples as this did and the pizza was good too. Overall good, but wouldn’t make a special trip here when there are about 20 other local amazing restarants in Asheville UNLESS you are on a tight budget and need to feed many.

I had one of the dinner specials; a chicken and penne dish with a Greek salad and garlic bread. The other person dining with me had spaghetti with meat sauce and a tossed salad. Our server and the manger both were very accommodating and congenial. We would definitely return to this restaurant. This restaurant was very busy during our visit on a Tuesday evening. – MT from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.

Visited here while in town and had a great experience. Even though a weekend night we got a table right away. Server was super friendly and helpful in making choices. The gyro was great, salad was huge! But the best thing of the night was the tortellini. I believe on the menu it had a red sauce but we asked for a white sauce. OMG. Both kids were devouring their meals and we had to be quick to get even a bite! But seriously, best tortellini I have ever had. Wow. If we are ever in the area again we would return to try more.

We picked Apollo Flame Bistro because we were hungry, and it was close to the hotel. My partner had the greek salad and said it was amazing. I had a small pizza made out of their home made pita bread. The edges were crispy and the topping was delicious with a combination of Feta and Mozarella cheese as well as marinated chicken and spinach. Was it the best Greek food I’ve ever had? Nope. But would I go again? Yep!

It’s good. Not the best Greek food I have had, but it is my favorite Greek restaurant in Asheville, so that’s something. They have a pretty amazballs Greek salad, as they should. We even buy their dressing to take home. I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like, but that being said, I tend to order from the same rotation of 4 or 5 things: Greek salad, Mediterranean pizza, gyro, gyro platter, and grape leaves. I have seen their antipasta and it’s HUGE so if you are in the mood for that, come hungry. I hear it’s fantastic. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard Americanized, Greek restaurant. They have a mural on the wall and a fountain here and there. If you’re in Asheville and looking for a Greek place, this is the one I’d recommend.
