Tailwaggerz

First of all, I’m a new dog owner so I went into this with my mind open. Adam quickly closed it. After sending him a message asking about rates and suggestions for decreasing my dog’s leash reactivity he told me to get a dog physical (he’s a puppy, we’ve seen the vet 5 times in the 2 months we’ve owned him), nutritional analysis, in person consultation to go over my dog’s history, and form an action plan. Seemed like Adam was more interested in taking my family for everything he can, instead of just asking questions because he didn’t ask one in the response to my email. Oh, and he didn’t answer how much it was going to cost, which after doing weeks of looking up trainers that help with leash reactivity, that’s all I really would have liked to know. His email seemed very condescending and if you want someone that’s going to answer questions and be upfront about their business, go somewhere else. Tailwaggerz isn’t for you… trust me.

Adam came to the rescue of me & my out of control Boston Terrier puppy Charley 7 years ago, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hired originally to take Charley for walks during the day, Adam ended up being our trainer, friend, and source of endless support. Adam genuinely has the best interests of his animals & their humans at heart. He loves & understands our 4-​legged friends completely. Adam is very professional, very well trained, and loads of fun. Charley adored Adam, & went bananas when Adam came to our house. Charley was a dog who needed (still does) lots of exercise, and lots of mental stimulation. Adam helped us both learn how to understand each other. Charley is now the sweetest, most well behaved dog ever. I don’t know what we would have done if Adam had not been in our lives, we miss him very much! Peace, love & Frisbees!

Courteous, professional, and possesses an obvious love and appreciation for animals of all kinds. My cat normally shies away from strangers, but she comes running when Tailwaggerz shows up. It makes it a lot easier to visit family out of state knowing my kitty is in good hands.

Adam is awesome! We first hired him several years ago because our normally friendly dog had tried to bite someone. He helped us make our dog feel more secure (we had just moved and gotten a couple of new kittens). And our dog LOVES him! I always see Adam around the neighborhood with a bunch of other pups. He has cat sit for us and spends extra time with them and sends us photos, which is great when you are missing your pets!
We also recommended him to my folks who had gotten an English Setter puppy that was full if energy and a little stubborn. He helped teach them how to work with the puppy so he didn’t turn into one of those annoying dogs. He uses patience and positive reinforcement and treats in his training. He is great!

Our whole family loves Tailwaggerz — even those without tails! Cats, dogs, frogs, and humans all appreciate the professional and kind attention.
We have used Tailwaggerz primarily for dog adventures a few times a week for the last year. Our three dogs each have enjoyed every outing they’ve had with Adam — we can tell by the wagging tails and peaceful house when we get home.
We have also used Tailwaggerz for petsitting when we have had to go out of town. It took a lot of stress off of us to know they were going to be well cared for in their own home. We came home to pets who hardly acted like we’d been gone! And Adam took care of the little things that make a difference like heating up cat food for a nervous kitty and taking time to make sure each creature had some one-​on-​one time.
I appreciate the fact that Adam is a professional dog trainer in addition to being an amazing adventure provider. He has helped reinforce our training and the dogs’ good behavior with his positive methods.
I can’t say enough good stuff about Tailwaggerz and I recommend them to every one of my friends with pets. What a great alternative to a potentially stressful and expensive doggie daycare or kennel!

After frantically searching for someone to watch our dogs over the Christmas holidays and calling literally every vet, dog sitter, etc. I stumbled upon Tailwaggerz. Boy am I glad I did! Adam is a true professional, yet passionate for animals. We scheduled a «meet and greet» for him to come by about 2 weeks before we left for our trip. He met our dogs, took them for a short walk, and even brought homemade doggie treats which our pups loved. I have to admit I was a bit nervous to leave our dogs, as we were going to be out of the country but Adam’s demeanor with our pups calmed my reservations. He emailed me twice daily to keep us up to date on how our dogs were doing and even included several pics each time. He even took out the trash and checked our mail. My only complaint is that our dogs love Adam so much that they looked a little disappointed when we arrived home from our trip. He has since watched our dogs again and I will continue to use his services in the future.

Tailwaggerz rocks! We’ve been using Tailwaggerz for two years now and can’t imagine life without Adam! Our Corgi Milo waits by the front door for him every day and it’s clearly the highlight of his day. Adam’s worked with Milo on his reactive behavior and worked with us to get his weight down to a healthy range. He clearly loves animals and it shows. I love that Tailwaggerz also offers the option of dog adventures (field trips!). How cool is that? All in all, I can’t recommend Tailwaggerz enough.

As a professional dog behavior counselor and trainer, I am especially picky about not only who takes care of my own beloved furry family members, but also of who I refer my clients to when they need pet sitting/​walking services. Since most of my clients have dogs with «special needs», I can’t refer them to just anyone. They need someone that has the skills and education to know what to do when their dog lunges at people or other dogs, is fearful of people, is hyper-​stimulated just by being outside, or even just a dog that is super rambunctious and needs calm, patient and skilled handling. I am happy to be able to refer them to Adam. I know he will be able to manage the dogs competently and will reinforce the appropriate behaviors. I don’t worry about dogs regressing or learning new bad habits with him, a concern I do have with many other petsitters. And my dog and cat love him, which is obviously a huge deal for me!
