Absolutely less than helpful. Went in to find dog booties and sales person basically said maybe I could look online and order. She couldn’t give me any suggestions or ideas besides to Google it. Wanted to buy some additional stuff but felt like I was inconveniencing her.

As always excellent customer service; close to my house; they care about providing the highest quality products to keep my dogs happy healthy and well taken care of!

Love going into Pet Empawrium! The staff is always friendly, extremely helpful, and very knowledgable. Great selection of food, treats, toys, and supplements! They are always willing to help carry heavy bags of dog food out to your car. I’m so happy to support a local business that is just so amazing.

The groomer was fantastic! My 11 year old, 130lb Goldendoodle that is blind looked AMAZING and was done in an hour and 15 minutes. My doodle came out handsome and happy! We’ll be back for sure!

They always have knowledgeable staff that understand how to keep pets healthy and happy.
They actually visit the food suppliers facilities so they monitor the quality of what products they represent and will drop suppliers that don’t meet their

I absolutely love Pet EmPAWrium. They carry only the highest quality food and treats. They have a huge assortment of toys, chewies, etc. If a food I bought there doesn’t agree with my dogs they will gladly take it back. (I’ve done this so I can vouch for them) Lori is great with advice on food, treats, or anything related to our pets. They do grooming but I have never used that service. Great small business in Arvada!

I took my puppy here to be groomed and I’m very happy with the results. I was so fed up with seeing my dog shaved down to the skin. He’s not a chihuahua and I was so tired of seeing him that way. The gal here listened to me and she takes very good care of my dog. She pays attention to my dogs eyes, and nails which I feel are the most important for me. I like how straight forward she is with her time management, she tells me how long she’s going to need and he’s done. Super simple, super easy to deal with. I understand how people can be put off with the folks up front, I do agree, they should be a little more personable and at least give the perception that they’re helpful. At the same time, I barely spend any time up front so I’m very limited in seeing them. The last time I was in, I saw that she dyed a dogs tail pink. I couldn’t resist. I asked about my dog (he’s white) and she can do several colors, and so I opted for him to have a blue tail. I think his blue tail is absolutely adorable and it just makes him look even more like a stuffed animal. I will certainly bring my dog back and have him groomed as scheduled.

I live in SE Aurora and drive to the NW side of town to visit Pet Empawrium. I’ve been impressed by the research done by the owner to ensure that high quality products are available. I’m a raw feeder and have found a great variety of high quality products to add to the menu. They also carry some very good supplements that I have not found at other local stores that have been invaluable in supporting my senior pets during some health crises. I’m also a label reader looking for foods and treats that are US sourced and manufactured containing high quality clean ingredients. This is one store that I can trust to carry a selection of products that meet my needs.

*FLEAS FLEAS FLEAS* :(I’d been going here for years. I use to live in the area. I moved away from Arvada but continued to go here because the pricing was good for having to get three pups groomed. I also don’t trust just anyone to groom my babies. Found it odd though that every time I called to make an appointment I had to give ALL my information over again. The main groomer never remembered my dogs names (which aren’t common) nor my name. I always tipped $ 35 – 40 which I thought was a very good tip. My first issue was when my dogs came home with FLEAS. I called to inform her and she was appalled as if how dare I say they got fleas from her salon. They hadn’t been anywhere else. The fleas came straight from this salon point blank. She was horrendously rude and offered absolutely no apologies or concern for the situation. Which ended up costing me about $ 300 on top of the grooming I’d paid that day. A few months later I decided to go back as I had never had an issue like that with them before and I understand it can happen and also understand her embarrassment and ignorant reaction to the situation. Karma saved me from going back though. This was what happened… I have never been late to an appointment before in all of the 6 or 7 years I’ve been a loyal customer of this grooming salon. I’m 9 months pregnant and was moving a little slower than usual. I called to say I’d be late… once again she had no idea who I was and told me that she wouldn’t be able to groom my dogs if I was more than 10 minutes late. I hung up the phone and will never ever go back here. This is no way to treat such a long time customer. I even feel stupid for thinking of giving them another chance after the disgusting FLEAS incedent. I also found it odd that they NEVER ONCE checked or even asked if my dogs vaccinations were current. After writing this I now realize I was looking at this place through rose colored glasses out of fear of taking my pups somewhere new. This place is AWFUL my dogs we’re always covered in other pups slobber and hair every time I picked them up. They never smelled fresh only like wet dogs. There are plenty of holistic wonderful grooming salons around now! I’d recommend ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

I would give this store a zero star rating, but you have to give at least one. ITS TERRIBLE. The staff is lazy they are always sitting behind the counter having conversations or playing with their phones. The grooming room is dirty every time I’ve seen it. The store itself is even worse though. Most of the food and treats on the shelf are out of date and dusty. It’s always messy in there. The staff and the owner are just alike they care nothing for the customers. You don’t get greeted, in fact, you get ignored when you walk up to the counter. It seems like it’s their hangout and customers are a nuisance to them. Very unprofessional and dirty. I will never return. LAZY. They don’t want to do anything.

We stopped in after receiving some advice from a friend to find some food that agreed with our pup. I met the owner and her son and both are tremendously knowledgeable about EVERYTHING they carry. They apparently have a close, working relationship with every manufacturer of the foods they sell and constantly monitor their practices to assure quality. Basically if it’s there, they will stand by it. Love their return policy in the event your four legged children don’t like their dinner (return for credit). Grooming facilities are on site and are kennel free. Meaning you make an appointment, drop your dog off, they begin work, and you pick them up immediately following. All around fantastic business. Stop in and see what I mean. Your pet will thank you!

I wish I had tried the groomers at this store sooner. I make an appointment and my dog is pampered by himself, no kennels, no four to five hours. I run a couple of errands and an hour later he is trimmed, smelling good and happy. All of this comes with no stress and a very reasonable price! Love this shop!

I hadn’t updated my reviews in awhile, but I am still a frequent customer for both purchasing pet food and the grooming of my two schnauzers. The grooming staff has changed over the years but the current groomers always do a nice job on our girls. There aren’t usually too many dogs scheduled at once so that leads to less time that they have to be crated (if at all). I usually prefer the early morning appointments because there are fewer dogs.
The prices are higher here but you are paying for the knowledge that the owner has and her dedication to providing high quality items. She visits the sites of the food manufacturers to see first-​hand how the food is made. In addition she keeps well educated on food, diet, and various therapy treatments and is a source of knowledge if you should have a concern about the well-​being of your pet.
If you want to talk to the owner specifically about a question you have about feeding, diet or health then call ahead to see when she will be working or stop in on a weekend morning or afternoon.

Wow! I’m so happy I came to this store! Lori was extremely knowledgable and helped me with all of my concerns! She was very friendly and I’m so happy to know that I have a great place to bring my dogs! My poor dog wouldn’t go to any stores after a bad experience with a big named pet store for a very long time. Now she can feel comfort in knowing she will be treated properly by a truly loving animal staff! I highly recommend this store!

The two things I love most about this store are that it is locally owned and that I can trust that any dog food I pick off the shelf was not made in China and has holistic ingredients. Yes it is pricier than other stores but the peace of mind I get from knowing that the foods available there are safe and nutritious is priceless to me.

I don’t know if they have been reading the reviews or what but their attitudes have slightly changed. The owner is much more friendly and helpful and her staff/​kids have improved just a bit. The staff/​kids still have lots of room for improvement but unfortunately that is today’s standard for «young adults». I’m still stretching the 4 stars only because it is a local business… but credit needs to be given for improvement.

I, as well, want to really like this store. I really want to give it a 5 star… but i can’t. The staff is miserable for the most part and the sad thing is they are the owners! There are def. a few kids who work the desk that are nice and if you get the owners kid to talk he is nice too. The owner is def knowledgable and passionate about dogs… HOWEVER! If you have a purebreed dog from a source she doesn’t approve of, forget it! If you have a mutt, not interested! She’s got a chip on her shoulder that she needs to drop! If you try and have a conversation with her she really knows everything and really doesn’t have time to chat.
LOVE local businesses, don’t love rude, snobby workers/​owners.
The bottom line is, if you want to help rescue our beloved pets health and start feeding them real food… go here. Get in, get out! If you want to chit chat… grab a friend and go to Chit Chat restaurant just down the street.

Three uppercase words describe this place. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I have been here 4 times (due to the large selection of dog products and grooming), each time I think the customer service can’t get any worse.
I won’t return after last week’s visit. I refused to put up with their lack of wanting to acknowledge/​help me unless I approach the staff.
I have yet to be greeted when entering the store on any of my 4 visits. The folks at the counter are ALWAYS preoccupied with either their computers or talking to each other. Acknowledging the customers is obviously not a practice here, neither by the owner nor the staff.
Each and every time I go, I end up standing there waiting for help, having to ask if I can get assistance. The first time I took my dog for grooming, I stood there for 5 minutes while the two behind the counter finished their chit chat.
I really want to like this place, I really do. Their selection of products is plentiful. But, what good does the best selection do, if you won’t help customers?
I can go to Whole Pets or Black Paw and get GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

This store is decent sized and looks like it carries a lot of holistic pet foods, treats and toys. The collar and leash selection was a little meh.
However, they do carry Zuke’s Z-​Ridge edible chew bones so I will probably come back in the future.
In the back/​front is a grooming salon.
The reason I am not giving this store 4 stars is because the two guys working the cashier looked like they were in misery working there and definitely did not make me feel excited to be there.

I LOVE this store! I’ve been shopping here ever since I learned about the evils of most big-​name commercial dog food producers, and I have never looked back. If Lori doesn’t sell it, you shouldn’t buy it. She is SO extremely knowledgeable and you can tell she feels an obligation to provide her customers with only the best. She has severed connections with some of her providers after they have made some questionable business moves, and I appreciate that as a customer.
Both my show dog and my 2 cats eat Taste of the Wild, on Lori’s recommendation, and they are all healthier than they’ve ever been. Lori also has a very wide selection of natural food treats, «green» toys, and frozen raw food.
The store has recently become very busy, and I couldn’t be happier to see that. This store deserves to succeed because of the service they are providing to their loyal customers. :-)
