Typical mediocre Denver Mexican slop. Additionally this place has serious exhaust issues, be prepared to wash whatever you wear into this place as the air always hangs heavy with smoke and grease. I suggest you walk across the street to the newly relocated Alameda burrito for your Mexican fix. Maybe Alameda Burrito will eventually assume Lunas location.

I really wanted to love this place. I like trying new things and enjoy ethnic joints. And I’ve got a special place in my heart for hole-in-the-wall eateries. But… I met a friend here for lunch on a Saturday. It has a divey, outdated, mom and pop vibe but that didn’t bother me. The staff seemed genuine and was very friendly. I settled in a booth and looked at the menu. I choose 2 chicken soft tacos and started in on the basket of chips that was on the table. The chips and salsa was average. The salsa was watery making it a little disappointing. I figured a place like this would feature salsa that would be one of their signature marks. Nevertheless, the tacos were brought out in a timely manner and I was eager to try them. Their soft tacos are made on tortillas about 7″ wide. For a light lunch, 2 seemed adequate. The tacos consisted of shredded chicken along with the usually taco fare. Again, I was hoping for something that I could brag about, but alas, they didn’t give me much to work with. Everything was just… mediocre. Where was the homemade special sauce? How about the side of corn salsa? Or secret seasons? It’s those kind of things that really put these places on the map. There was nothing that made them standout. Instead, the chicken was as plain as you could get. I added some pepper in an attempt to give it some zing, but it didn’t help much. For $ 2.25 a piece, I expected more. Overall, it was an «OK» lunch. Perhaps other dishes are better. Chicken tacos seem like an easy homerun to wow customers. But today… Luna’s seems to strikeout :(

Very overpriced for food portions. Spent a fortune for what seemed to have been the most cliché cheap mexican food i used to get anywhere in Texas. The products used to make mexican food are not expensive… What am i paying so much for?

Solid food and always friendly service. Somehow, I haven’t had any alcohol here, but otherwise it’s awesome. Try the steak nachos or huevos rancheros… those have been my favorites so far. It’s a divey little place, but from what I have seen, it is very clean. Definitely give it a try if you need something cheap that will stick to your ribs.

A little whole-in-the-wall Mexican joint for a quick lunch? Why not? I picked up a breakfast burrito to go and was treated to a tasty ensemble of ham, eggs, potatoes, cheese and sauce. The gent behind the counter and waitress seeing to the seated patrons both flashed friendly smiles and the prices were quite reasonable. Based on this admittedly limited experience, I’m very curious to revisit this establishment to sample their other fare. Til then, a solid four stars.

I know good Tex-Mex. Luna’s was good but not excellent. The street tacos were decent and the salsa was tasty. Only cons were that they charge for seconds on chips and salsa and for more than one drink refill. Other than that, it was worth visiting and we would probably go there again if we were in the neighborhood and in the mood for Mexican.

This is probably the Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever eaten — the green chili sauce is excellent — The family that runs this place are very kind and make you feel at home

The folks at Luna’s are very nice, and the green chile is delicious. The rest of the menu is pretty standard, and nothing really blew my hair back. This place could do with a makeover in the restaurant and on the menu, but it isn’t stopping me from visiting once a month.

Amazing green chili. Love the shredded beef. I don’t see Horchata much, so I was glad to get this here, too! Fresh-made tortilla chips and great salsa. Casual and very friendly staff. Nummy!

I lived in Arizona for several years and got spoiled on Mexican food. This is not great, but it’s some of the better Mexican food I’ve had in the Denver area. Their breakfast burritos are quite good. I had a steak burrito that was okay but just drowning in cheese. Too much. I live just down the street so I go here often because it’s the right price and it scratches an itch. Just don’t expect to be blown away.

I’ve only had the chorizo breakfast burrito, but it is the best I’ve ever had. It’s decently priced and everyone has been extremely nice every time I’ve been in.

Absolutely excellent food! Some of the most authentic and best-tasting Mexican/Tex-Mex I’ve had in Denver. I lived in Texas for over thirty years and know good Mexican food when I have it. I’d drive clear over from Aurora to Arvada to do this Green Chili again. Excellent homemade tamale. Terrific Chile Rellano. Go here. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a little mom and pop Mexican place with excellent green chili. I wouldn’t really consider it the best place for kids or a date, based only on the atmosphere. It’s a little on the rugged side. But if you want good green chili and authentic affordable meal this place is excellent. The staff are friendly. I’ll give it four stars because I’ve gone here a number of times and have been consistently satisfied.

Best Mexican food around our house! The cheese enchiladas are the best ever! Prices are great and the service is fab, nice employees. We take our food to go and enjoy it at home. We’ve never had a bad meal here!

I have been here 3 separate times and all three I got take out. The first two times the food was quite tasty, which is why it got 2 starts. I would give it 2 and a half but oh well. Even tho the food was good, I found the prices to be a bit high for such a dive-y spot, but was willing to pay it on occasion. The last time I got stuff from here the food was awful, some was waaaay over salty and some was totally bland. I’m so upset because it’s really close to my house and I so badly wanted my own little neighborhood dive to be awesome. Alas, it is not so. So anyone know of a yummy Mexican food dive around the areas of 80th and Sheridan or Wadsworth?

Holy breakfast burritos! Finally had a chance to make a morning visit to Luna’s today ~ sooo glad I did. Their breakfast burritos are amazing. If you are dining in, be sure to get your burrito smothered in their wonderful green chili. I noticed they also serve things like pancakes and eggs if burritos aren’t your thing. We’ve been loyal patrons here for the past 2 years and this place just keeps getting better and better. The staff really couldn’t be any nicer. Oh, and they have TORTAS now! Hoooray for tortas and french fries…

I ate here at Luna’s a few times when I lived in Arvada. A neighbor lady was nice enough to take me here the first time because I was helping her with getting her newspaper while she was away. The second time was just to try it again, by myself. Both times I just didn’t think Luna’s was all that spicy or maybe it was their recipe for green chili that I did not like. I don’t know. I never wound up becoming a regular here… instead I went to Chubby’s and Santiagos further down on Ralston. While some may balk at this those two are my preferred places to go when it comes to Mexican food in Arvada.

I have been going here with my family for the last 10 years. Their green chili is probably the best in Colorado — their tacos? To die for. Definitely a little mom’n’pop place — but if you want good Mexican food, go here.
