R & R Furniture and Mattress

Got a Lazy Boy leather recliner from this store really loved it at first, but after one month of having the chair we started having problems with the leather. They came out to look at the chair. About two weeks or so later they called and told us we can come back and get a different chair. Ian was very nice in helping us with the problems we had,. And was able to replace it. So we went back into the store and found a different Recliner, that i think we will like better. However still not sure if i would buy from them again, the employees there seemed to be cold towards when we came back, you think after having a bad experience like that, they would be nicer. Ian seemed to be the only one that was nice toward us, and really helped us, Thank you Ian.

I would give zero stars but one I a requirement. Unfortunately when we walked we were not greeted, we spent about thirty minutes trying out beds, and did not have one employee ask if we had questions or needed help. One employee walked by looked at us and kept walking. And we talked about buying a bed but since no one was going to bother acknowledging we were there we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. As we left, we got no acknowledgement either. Poor customer service.

You can only real tell how great a store is by how they deal with issues when they come up. We bought two comfy reclining chairs from them — at a good price. They were prompt with delivery, but after a few weeks I noticed the one my husband used did not work the same as mine did — there was something wrong with it. They sent out a technician, who ordered a part. But, the part did not work. They wanted to send out a different technician, but when the technician proved difficult to contact, I told them I thought that they should just replace the chair — that there had been too much drilling, shifting screws, etc, and I wondered if the chair would ever be right. They agreed and exchanged it for a brand new one — delivering it promptly. I recently ordered a dining room table from them. I found a very low price online and they agreed to match the price. Next, I will order a new couch!

I purchased a King Aireloom preferred mattress from R&R Furniture in July of 2015. The mattress is nice to sleep on, after a few days I realized it was shorter than my old queen mattress and was having issues with my feet hanging off the end, which never happened on my queen. When I measured the mattress it was only 78″ in length which is 2″ shorter than its supposed to be and 2″ shorter than my old queen mattress. When I contacted R&R they said there was nothing they could do and that I should contact the manufacturer. When I contacted Aireloom they said the mattress is handmade and can be up too 2″ off of the spec sheet. I find it disturbing that Aireloom can do this as it does affect the way king sheets fit and that R&R would sell something that is not to spec. Also Aireloom suggested to speak with the place of purchase for a possible discount or credit for a new mattress, which was useless. Now I have a mattress that cost me over $ 6,000 dollars that I hate.

I have been thinking about what to write in my review for a couple of days now, as my experience at R&R furniture really rubbed me the wrong way.
I came here last Saturday with my boyfriend looking for some furniture pieces as I had bought a mattress two weeks prior. A lady by the name of Cindy had helped me. I already did not get a great feeling about her but as I made my decision on my own I did not think about it too much to get the purchase done quickly for my $ 1400 mattress.
Fast forward to Saturday when my boyfriend and I walk into the store. No one greets us although there were plenty of people at the check out desk. We brush it off and go upstairs and end up looking at a dresser. Finally an employee comes up to us and tells us that we can take the floor model with us right away and won’t have to wait for delivery. I wanted to inspect the dresser just to make sure it was in good shape. As I was looking over the dresser the sales person said I looked familiar so I told him Cindy had sold me a mattress two weeks earlier. As we talked I noticed some smudges on the dresser and asked the sales person if he could get a wipe to see if it was permanent or not and he walks away to get something to try and clean it.
This is where the problem really started. I guess he must have sent Cindy to come talk to us, and the first thing that she says in a very abrasive tone is «sorry we can’t give you a discount on this item» (no hi how are you, nice to see you again etc). My boyfriend and I just looked at each other in shock and disgust as I politely informed Cindy that we had never asked for a discount, and just wanted to see if the smudges would come off the dresser so we would know if we wanted to take the floor model or purchase a new one. Her mannerisms in no way got any better and her attitude said it all. She clearly thought because we were young we wouldn’t be able to afford anything in the store (despite the fact that I had given her a one minute $ 1400 sale two weeks earlier).
While the dresser was the perfect piece we were looking for, Cindy was not someone we wanted to give commission to so we left. Not only did Cindy lose over a quick $ 1000 sale but R&R furniture lost a customer permanently.
In conclusion if you are young or not dressed «nicely» don’t expect to get any type of great customer service. These employees forget that there is no telling who can or can’t buy and are quick to jump to conclusions.
I hope that the manager or store owner will see this and follow up with me, but either way I will be calling the store to speak about this issue.

I would return to buy furniture from R & R in a heartbeat! My father had fallen and I thought it was time for a lift chair. We checked out their large inventory and decided upon a good looking, yet functional piece. Ian was personable, professional and
very helpful in making this decision. Unfortunately, my father changed his mind after the chair was in the home. R & R and Ian completely accommodated dads reversal! It’s this service, from beginning to end, that we all look for when buying big ticket items. Quality is important. And so is service! Thanks, Ian! Thank you, R & R!

my father and i went in a week or two ago and some lady greeted us but probably didnt take us seriously since not once did she check on us. went to ashley furniture found the same table at a better deal and service. they sure do know the product there. thank you r & r for sending my buisness some where else got the call that my table will be in tomorrow cant wait (: !

I would rate R&R Furniture in Arroyo Grande excellent in the service department. Cathy spent several days with us as we just bought a home in Nipomo and were not quite sure on what style of furniture we wanted. She had us start with the beds and it was unbelievable the selection that we had to choose from. She was very patient in helping us look for rugs, living room couches and painted a very vivid picture of what all would look like. The store had discounts for the first part of the year that we took advantage of and Cathy again helped come up with more savings in product. We would recommend this furniture store to our friends and neighbors. She was also not at all afraid to look in the many catalogs to show us different styles.

My family and I drove all the way down from Paso Robles and they told they were closing in 2 minutes and would not help us! That is not very good customer service! We were interested in getting a chair for a Christmas present!

I wouldn’t shop at Get A Mattress, but now the location is called R&R Furniture. I figured new owners, should be a better experience. I was right! The price didn’t intimidate me, the staff was friendly and well organized, and the displays were well done in that giant space. Looks like they finally got it right over there, Welcome to the neighborhood R&R Furniture!

I went in to R&R furniture a few weeks ago in need a new mirror for my apartment & was so ecstatic to see that Cindy was still there! Purchased a mattress through her over a year ago. Went in with the worst lower back problems. She was very patient with me & answered all my questions. I’m a college student, and I don’t make much money so I explained to her my situation and what I could afford. I left the store with a better mattress then I thought I could afford! She worked harder for me (someone with hardly any money) then she needed to & before I left she gave me a hug and wished me luck on all my schooling. My mattress is amazing & the back problems are gone! So glad to see she’s still there. It’s refreshing to work with a sales person with so much knowledge, that will take the time to make sure your getting a great deal for your money, and work as hard as they can for people who don’t have much! I had an amazing experience at R and R furniture. I’ve been to several local furniture stores in the area and had very little success. I was never able to find a knowledgeable experienced sales person that would take the time to help me and not rip me off, until I got the privilege of working with Cindy. I’ve had back problems for ten plus years. Cindy was incredibly helpful and empathetic to my circumstances. She worked with me for over three hours until we found the mattress that was just right. After we selected the mattress she got me financed and set me up for delivery the next day. The delivery guys showed up on time and set everything up in a timely manner.

Goodness. I went in for this new grand opening.
The merchandising on the first floor was done well.
They had no prices on furniture so you had to talk with the sales staff.
They had product on the floor they they weren’t even willing to make same day floor model concessions for.
Staff hovers around eves dropping
Then when you need them, you have to go up and down stairs to find them.
I emailed them an offer today for two pieces at their «showroom», let’s see how they respond.
I think I had the same sales associate as the other reviewer
Called them twice today, associates too busy to take calls.
Emailed three times with one reply which was to call the store.
Sad business

This place was called «Get A Mattress» last month, and their high prices, poor service and offensive salespeople (I’m looking at you, Cindy) did not exactly position them as a juggernaut in the furniture business.
Now they are R&R Furniture. Did it solve all these problems? NO! Still beleaguered by the same problems. As long as that rude woman Cindy works there, as long as they lie to their customers (specific example forthcoming), and overcharge, you shouldn’t shop there.
I wouldn’t level a serious charge against a business like that without a solid reason, and here’s how Cindy lied to us:
We were buying furniture when they were having a big «25% OFF EVERYTHING IN STORE!» sale. Cindy told us that the chairs, benches and table were going to be 25% off. GREAT! While finalizing the purchase, her demeanor changed and she started acting bizarre, strangely rude. She totaled our purchase and we were shocked, everything on the invoice was only 10% off. Bear in mind, this is after being promised both verbally by Cindy and the huge banners all over the outside of the building that there would be a 25% discount. Her explanation came in the form of stammering, unconvincing excuse that since we were «breaking up a set» by purchasing four chairs from a collection and a table from another collection, that their fine print policy was: No discount whatsoever. She told us we were lucky to get 10% off. Give me a break.
Then came the out and out lie: We overheard some other employees talking like they were going out of business. We asked Cindy, «Are you going out of business?» She looked us straight in the face and said, «NO! Not at all!» We told her that we’d hold off on our purchase until the following week if they were going out of business and continue to offer steeper discounts, she assured us they were here to stay, and our furniture would be gone if we didn’t buy it today. We bought it all. And we had to haul it ourselves, since we wanted it that day.
GUESS WHAT? SEVERAL DAYS LATER there were huge banners all over that place announcing, «GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!» «UP TO 75% OFF!». We were so angry and disgusted. Her lie cost me over a thousand dollars, we went in and they had more of the pieces I’d bought, discounted to the absurd. She cost me a lot of money. In recap, she was rude, I heard her berate other employees AND customers within earshot of us, and she LIED. Everytime we drive past that place I think of being treated poorly, and the large amount of money she cost us by lying to us.
