My daughter and I found this gem following a Google search for top rated area restaurants. The service was attentive and prompt, perfectly cooked meals for the kid and I, the chips and salsa quite tasty and cool items on the menu(ceviche & calamari) were great touches. If you’re in the area, this is a very cute, solid/complete stop worth making.

I was fairly disappointed in this place since so many gave great reviews. The chips were a little over done and the salsa tasted like something pre-made from a jar and was too tomato paste like. They give a soup sample, tonight was clam chowder and both my Husband and I thought it was awful. I ordered the taquitos with rice and beans. The rice was good, the beans were bland and the taquitos were nothing great. My husband had the beef fajitas and said they were okay but had the same sentiments about the beans. Honestly the complementary desert was the best part. Vanilla ice cream with caramel drizzle and sugared tortilla strips. Our waitress, the oldest of all the wait staff was very friendly though so 2 stars for her.

Best Mexican in town by far! She uses the freshest ingredients and puts genuine love into her food. The owner and head chef wines and dines you with complimentary soup of the day and desert with every meal! I never write reviews. I mean never. She is worth me taking the time.

FINALLY! A good Mexican restaurant in the area! Moved here recently and have been craving a good enchilada. The enchiladas are small as another reviewer mentioned so I ordered the 2BYO — shredded beef and cheese. The service was great too! So happy to have Me & Z’s in my neighborhood.

Definitely happy we took a chance and ate here for lunch today. The el pastor tacos were tasty, as was the soup, the salsa, and the enchilada. The kids scarfed down their chicken quesadillas and the ice cream was a super surprise at the end of the meal. We will be back!

I walked into Me & Z’s and was greeted by a Mexican woman with with a bad attitude. Fortunately, after I was seated, this real nice waitress took my order. I ordered 2 tacos and they were horrible! No flavor whatsoever. I don’t think I’ll be going back to Me & Z’s. 2 stars for the nice waitress.

This place is delightful. Genuine. Family run. Delicious. Gracious service. Stumbled upon it and checked it out on Unilocal.Recommend you try it over some of the more expensive and more touristy Mexican places. Rose garden adjacent patio is lovely, but also have inside dining room, as well as a couple of tables out front on the sidewalk. Shrimp ceviche, chile Colorado, Carnitas were all excellent. Loved the unexpected extras. All made for a great experience. Don’t hesitate.

Fresh home made food. Dessert included with the meal. Al pastor taco was yummy. Home made chips were very fresh and crisp. Great Mexican food

We’ve had two wonderful meals at Me & Z ‘s. Both times Deborah was our waitress. She’s such a nice person and an efficient waitress. Can’t say enough about their great Mexican food. Soup before the meal and complimentary ice cream dessert after. Going again today and looking forward to it. Hope Deborah is working today.

Thanks Unilocalers for your reviews of this little gem of a restaurant. We too enjoyed the soup sample(pazole) before our meal and little scoop of ice cream with caramel and cinnamon sugar covered fried tortilla strips after. What an unexpected treat. They were also accommodating and substituted a salad in place of rice and beans with my authentic crispy chicken tacos. My husband liked the shrimp tacos as well. We will definitely come back.

I gotta say, I don’t really understand all the four and five star reviews. I had lunch here today, and the food was OK, but it was certainly nothing to rave over. As some others have mentioned, the soup was a nice touch. I had a chili rellano, which was pretty flavor-challenged, kind of watery, and very mild. Portions were decent. The salsa was like tomato paste though, again very little flavor. I noticed a LOT of what seem like regulars here, and good for them. It’s a comfortable enough little place, but the food just wasn’t anything special.

I came at a very quite time between lunch & dinner but the service was absolutely superb. They knew I was very limited on time & accommodated me willingly even helping me pack up the rest of my shrimp cocktail & ice tea to go. The Cocktail de Camerones was delish!!! Definitely up there among the best I’ve tasted. Their salsa is decent tho not nearly as spicy as this gringa likes it. But not to worry! Each table had a choice of 3 different hot sauces. The restaurant appeared clean. The restrooms were clean & neatly stocked as well. My new favorite Mexican in 5 Cities.

Nice family restaurant very close to 101. We stopped here for lunch while driving back to SF from LA and loved it ! Very nice and spicy salsa and house chips kept us company while we waited for the entrée to arrive. The veggie taco salad, chilli relleno, veggie enchilada and the rice and beans were all very well done.

Great Mexican food, great service, very reasonably price. Easy 5 stars. For 8.95 I got: * Complementary Chips and Salsa * Complementary Soup * Complementary Ice Cream * Enchilada(was on the smaller side but could have gotten two for 10.95 and it was already plenty of food!)

Every meal is a 3 course meal with this place. Most dinner entrees come with a sample of soup before your meal and a scoop of ice cream at the end. We love this place!!! Try the ceviche! Best I’ve had in a very long time.

I have always been able to count on Unilocal for good eats in new places. Today was take out from Me and Z’s in Arroyo Grande. Visiting family in the area and had just enjoyed the Monarch butterfly grove in Pismo and hit this place on our way back. Small place on the main drag, outdoor seating, take out, friendly and prompt service. Didn’t have long to wait for the food which we took back to eat. Didn’t try any drinks but had a shredded chicken burrito, fish taco, carnitas taco, and pork tamales. Burrito was excellent, fish was delicious, carnitas was good but slightly dry. Salsa was good but not spicy as another review said. Chips were good but the thick, robust chips, personally I prefer a lighter chip, solely a conduit for salsa. Waiting to hear how tamales are received…

Good food; lots of food. Clam chowder app was rich, salty and full of clams. I ordered a torta with shredded chicken, lettuce, guac, salsa, jalapeños on the side, & beans on a soft roll. Meat was nicely flavored. Standard rice n beans on the side. The complimentary dessert scoop of vanilla ice cream was very good and had cinnamon-sugar tortilla strips. The staff was quick, friendly, and attentive. Overall had a pleasant experience.

Food was pretty good, but a little pricey. I had the aguachile, which was delicious! I wish there was less red onion, though. The shrimp was tender, and not too sour. My fiancé had the birria de chivo(goat). He was expecting a more hearty stew. The goat was tender and not gamey, but I think he wanted more meat and substance. We really liked the complimentary soup and small ice cream!

Came here for dinner because my mom wanted to go out, and saw a deal on for this place… the deal was pay 8 dollars for 16 dollars credit. FINEPRINT: you have to buy 2 drinks – cheapest ones are soda at 2.5 each so really your only saving 3 dollars off the whole meal. The good. 1. The food is pretty good. We got the fish taco entrée(11.95), and the shrimp taco entrée(13.95) comes with 2 tacos and rice and beans. Both were okay, 6 or 7⁄10. –comes with a soup(has meat though so I couldn’t eat it – no vegetarian option) –and a small scoop of ice cream and chips sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon good, and a nice touch 9⁄10 2. our waitress was nice and responsive. We never had to wait for that long to be helped 3. The porch dinning, beautiful central coast what’s not to love The bad 1. The salsa – not fresh, tomatoes taste like they’re from a can. Didn’t enjoy it at all 2. They were confused about the coupon and almost confrontational. When we showed them it, the management was like you need to show me the bar code. Having never used it before I said ok then we need to mark it was redeemed. Her response«no» I need the bar code. I’m thinking okay you got to communicate a little more… so I literally repeated myself 3x and then just clicked print coupon to give a bar code to make her stop saying no. So tip: if you’re using the dealsaver coupon show them the bar code on the print coupon tab. It will make your life easier. Know you’ll have to buy drinks. If you were planning on it anyways… good deal! If you normally drink water like me? Pick a new deal.
