Arroyo Grande Optometry

This office is so helpful and nice. I don’t usually enjoy going to any sort of doctors appointments but Dr. Weitkamp and staff are so amazing. Have Liz and Lety help you out… very kind and knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend Arroyo Grande Optometry to all of my family, friends and co-​workers.

I was seen on time. The front office staff was welcoming and courteous. Dr. Weitkamp was friendly and easy to talk with. He took the time to answer my questions and understand my specific contact lens needs. He recommended a brand/​model change to better accommodate my usage patterns. So far they are working out great. This is a good practice and I will recommend to others.

New to the area and so glad to have found this place… not to mention its close to home. I took a day off from work and initially didn’t have an appointment as it wasn’t on my agenda to have my eyes checked but figured better now than later. I called and they were able to accommodate me last minute.
Dr. Weitkamp was very personable and did not rush thru my exam. As a new patient it was very comforting to know that he truly cares about his patients. Based on my exam I was sent home with sample contacts to try before I get my final prescription to make sure I get the right brand. When I think of samples I think of 1 or 2 pairs… but Dr. Weitkamp sent me home with 3 different brands and ample samples to try! In previous experiences with other optometrists I’m lucky if they are even willing to find the right ones for me (as my eyes are very sensitive to contacts) and they are usually quick to do my exam and send me on my way.
I can’t say enough nice things about this place and am just happy to have found it. If you’re looking for a family owned optometrist or simply need an eye exam… skip the costco’s the Sears, targets etc. and call this office… I promise you won’t be sorry! Oh… and one of the brands I’m trying now is definitely the one for me… I’m seeing everything in HD and can’t even feel I have anything on my eyes!

Awesome place. Great service. Can accommodate a last minute appointment. Very friendly. Decent selection of frames and they will order something if they can. I had a prescription from another state that was within 6 months. They took me right away and were very helpful! Thanks!

I had always gone to Costco, malls, or Walmart for my eye exams and glasses and this year I decided to try a local optometrist office. I originally had an appointment close by but after my boss raved about how great Doctor Weitkamp was, I cancelled and made an appointment here. I had ALWAYS been told in the past that my eye prescription wouldn’t fit well with contacts (that they’d literally fall out and not hold in place every time I blinked), had this happen three different times in 6 years. Too my surprise I was told I was a great candidate yesterday! Finally an eye doctor who wanted to help instead of feeding me lies so I’d spend $ 400 on frames I didn’t want. I am so very pleased with this office I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else now. I recommend anyone who isn’t 100% satisfied with their current optometrist to switch. I guarantee you’ll be extremely happy you did: :)

My 6 year old daughter got sand in her eye today at school and by 5 pm (on a Friday) she was screaming in pain. I quickly googled an optometrist. They got me in right away, the Dr. was caring and gentle. He fixed my daughter right up. He advised that he is always available day or night. I will definitely return for our family to have routine care here.

As a pilot I need to make sure that my eyes are in great shape. Arroyo Grande Optometry is fantastic. They gave me a comprehensive eye exam much more than any FAA Flight Physical. James is a great optometrist and I highly recommend his optometric facility if you live in the area or out.

Great visit.
Very knowledgeable optometrist who answered my questions thoroughly and intelligently. They seemed very honest and straight-​forward, not in a rush or hurry and the prices I think were very fair. Not pushy at all with trying to sell you anything or sway your decisions.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing glasses or contacts lenses.
