I think Xist fitness in Arnold is great! I’ve had no problems freezing, canceling, or starting a membership. The staff is super friendly, the trainers are helpful and the facility is really clean. Not to mention the prices are amazingly cheap for a membership, even the highest one which you shouldn’t need unless you’re tanning. With other gym’s you’re missing out on separate girls & guys saunas, a separate room to stretch and use interesting equipment, tanning beds, NEWMACHINES/EQUIPMENT, a movie room, and babysitting. They also have paper towels, cleaning solution, and trashcans lined up all over the walls. This gym really isn’t crowded at all unless you go during busy hours. I love this gym and the staff that keep it going. Forever referring all my friends and family like I’ve been doing since day 1.

I cannot say enough good things about this gym! I LOVEIT! It is so CLEAN, the machines all seem to be brand NEW, the staff is extremely FRIENDLY and the classes are great. Its extremely AFFORDABLE, it took me less than 10 minutes to sign up — NOCONTRACT! — and they offer perks like red light therapy, cardio theater and childcare. There isn’t a long list of classes, but you don’t need that because the ones they do offer are fantastic — sort of a mini cross fit, weight lifting with cardio, intense session that works for anybody at any level of fitness. They’re also at the right times — 9am, 5pm, and 7pm during the week then a 9 and 10am on Saturday. That’s all I need because those are literally the only times I would attend a class at a gym. It seems to be a smarter, better system. There is an app ‘MindBody’ that lets you book the class and add it to your calendar from your phone(or you can do it online — but lets be honest, you’re reading this on your phone right now). Seamless. Did I mention the class is taught by an actual personal trainer who works at the gym? Who you’ll see around, who will most likely remember your name, but won’t berate you into paying for training you don’t want. But, you could actually afford personal training if you wanted because the membership for a month cost less than lunch out. And you may actually want it because the trainers are great!(Note: I’ve only experienced the trainers in a class setting, not in 1 on 1 training sessions. You do get a free training session upon joining but they don’t push it on you — again, refreshing). I was also extremely and pleasantly surprised by how nice the gym MEMBERS are. Oh sure there are a couple meaty guys lifting weights and a few high school aged kids tooling around a bit — but its a fantastic mix of people and from what I can tell, a pretty good mash up of all fitness levels. After my first class I had 3 people approach me to ask how I liked it, tell me I did a good job, etc. I’m not a fitness guru — this was definitely my first trip back to the gym in years. I wasn’t expecting anyone to talk to me, much less offer me encouragement and accolades for making it to a class. I’ve worked out at plenty of other gyms and I can assure you this has never happened. If all that wasn’t enough for the $ 20 a month you’re paying with NO contract(?!), why not try out tanning, or the hydro jet massage bed, or the red light therapy? You can feel good about leaving your stuff in a locker because they’re immaculate — then you can shower in what appears to be a brand new shower, or sit in the sauna.(Note: They have memberships starting at $ 10 a month but I’m not sure what they include besides access to the gym). Thirsty on the way in or out? Grab a water, scan your membership card, and it’s charged to your account. So easy. So smart. Maybe I’m watching too many episodes of «The Profit» but I’m fantasizing about opening my own franchise. Seriously, the only thing I don’t like about this gym is that I sometimes feel guilty I’m not paying more for these exceptional services. Final note: I see someone else commented about poor customer service/management — I can tell you that was the opposite of my experience. Every interaction I’ve had with the staff has been absolutely great. They are friendly and knowledgeable and nobody is putting off the«I’m better than you» vibe so typical at other establishments.

This is a nice gym but horrible customer service. Would like to go there but the managers are not very nice.

I was visiting Arnold for the last week on some business. I wanted to find a gym to grab a quick workout, and I’d never seen an Xist before. The guy at the front desk(Ben) told me they had memberships starting at $ 10… Which is freaking insane, because the YMCA alone in L.A. is $ 50!!! The building was all brand NEW, nice, and clean. The equipment was all brand new and I really felt that all the machines were really cared for and sterile. I came in in the early morning and was greeted by «Big Ben» as I call him. He was a gentle giant of a man who was super informative and professional. Particularly because I was clueless about where I was, or anything to do with Arnold. I highly recommend him as a trainer and for anything you need at Xist, made me wish I lived there so I could learn more about technique and dieting from him. He competes in a lot of professional competitions and is unbelievably natural too. If I end up near St. Louis or Arnold again, I’ll definitely head here for my work out.
