History

Established in 1995.

Mother Earth Pillows® began in 1995 in Arnold, MO by Karen Kowal, a RN & Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. Karen was involved for 30 years in the field of nursing, then became a Massage Therapist in 1994. She had searched for natural products for her own use after dealing with personal chronic pain. Her practice grew after 1994, she began developing more product designs for her clients, family & friends.

Using an old Singer Sewing machine in the basement, herbs from her garden, & quality materials & fabric she began her journey. As word spread, more folks came to ask for the ‘Pillow-​Lady’ for products for pain & for comfort to reduce everyday stress. Karen & her daughter Nicole worked for two years from her home. The business grew & it was time to move to a commercial location. This location lasted for 9 years.

In 2007, a new location was found for production & office space… & a separate Retail & Massage location was opened. Mother Earth Natural Solutions.

Business Owner

Karen worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years before attending Healing Arts School

of Massage in 1994. Over the past 16 years as a Licensed Massage Therapist, she has

focused on Fibromyalgia massage, medical massage, relieving chronic pain patterns and

myofascial release. Her goal is to achieve deep tissue therapy without pain.

She has developed and launched an exciting and original modality into the world of

massage therapy known as Pillossage™, Thermal Connective Tissue Release Techniques.
