We were overjoyed to find this restaurant so close to our new home. It’s beautiful and we really had high hopes. Unfortunately, the food was really not good at all. It’s greasy and bland. But, I will say that when we order take out from this restaurant it doesn’t taste the same. It actually tastes good. I don’t understand it and I really hope they get their act together because there are not enough good Chinese restaurants in the area.

I don’t understand why people rave about David Chens. Over the past 16 years I have tried to give them«another chance» many times. Each time i am consistently disappointed with greasy, tasteless food. Usually leaves me with a stomach ache too. I really want to like it but can’t. There are much better options in the area.

This is a great Chinese restaurant in this area. They offer gluten free options and have always been quite tasty! The portions are generous and they are accommodating to substitutions.

What can I say about David Chen’s?! I’ve been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years, and it is probably my favorite restaurant in the entire world. Nearly everything I’ve gotten off the menu is great. The service is always very good, and Susan and David are the best hosts. If you are in town and looking for some great, classic Chinese food, go to David Chen’s!

Very bland, overpriced Chinese food. My husband’s sweet and sour shrimp was tough and rubbery from being overcooked. The crab Rangoon didn’t have any discernible crab taste. The mu shu pork was edible but that is faint praise. We won’t ever go back.

My family has tried ordering from here a few times over the past year and every time they have forgotten part of our order. And despite what they say when you call back if you are missing someone’s food, don’t expect them to bring it any time soon. Not worth the disappointing service.

Came for lunch with a friend. The food came out at different times(which would have been ok if the food came out hot). Food was served warmish-not hot and I’m 99% sure that the rice was instant!(That’s a first!) Other than that it was ok.

The best quality Chinese cuisine in Westchester. I drive from the river towns just to dine at David Chen. The restaurant has an traditional old school feel which is great. The staff is very attentive and kind. They always remember your favorite dishes! The food is always fresh, and prepared to perfection. My favorites are the beef or chicken with broccoli, with an ice cold Tsingtao beer. They have a nice parking area right in front.

Good food, good portions. Quality pretty decent for Asian food in this area. We would definately go back, and recommend it if you live in this area or around White Plains. I got chow fun with beef, and it was delicious. The place is quiet, and spacious. Good attentative service. Lots of parking spaces.

Delivery was ok, but we were ripped off. Charged $ 2 for a can of soda! Woman on the phone was rude and refused to tell us the total until we had to repeatedly ask her until she finally told us. They also don’t give whole chicken wings, only half wings with no flavor! Never ordering from here again

Better than good Chinese food, although need a little help with their soups and sesame chicken, everything else I’ve eaten here is great, delivery is long but always comes hot, just order a little earlier if your getting delivery. Great in house made egg rolls.

Definitely some of the best Chinese food I ever had. The pork fried rice is ridiculously awesome and I love their general Tsao and sesame chicken dinners and the chicken with broccoli dinner is also fantastic. So if you want some excellent Chinese food and fast service you should come here.

Just picked up food. General Tso’s, veg lomein, veg fried rice and chicken and broccoli. Had to throw everything out, kids wouldn’t eat it. Smelled, looked and tasted bad.

I’m always up for trying somewhere new, so I was interested in trying David Chen since I had heard good things about it. After leaving, I found the experience to be just okay. It’s typical American Chinese food, nothing too special. We dined in the restaurant which was pretty nicely decorated. Service was okay as well. It was just two of us in our party so we split and entrée(smart move because portions are big). I don’t know if I’ll try here again since it’s not in my backyard but if I lived in the area I imagine this would be my go-to Chinese restaurant.

It’s over. The 20 year run has come to an end. That is if you are happy with mediocre, greasy Chinese food, served on tablecloths with holes and a filthy set of rest rooms… Boneless spareribs that are greasy and fatty, filet mignon that is full of grisle and greasy uninspired egg rolls. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Kira. These guys need to ride off into the sunset…

Good American-Chinese food. Old school fun atmosphere. The portions are huge and consistantly good. The dumplings are giant and tasty. Good lo mein, general tso chicken, 10 ingredient wantons interestingly yummy. If you want amazing real deal Chinese food go to Chinatown or Flushing but if you live in Westchester this is a nice place to go. If it is your birthday the waiter will sing a rendition of Happy Birthday that will have you smiling ;) 4 stars cause you have to take it for what it is American-Chinese.
