History

Established in 2006.

Founded in Arlington, Virginia, WendroffCPA, is a full service accounting firm offering tax preparation, tax planning, CFO Consulting, QuickBooks training and bookkeeping. The firm is certified in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. The firm has become known in the community as being a client’s most trusted adviser. The firm is a member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Society of CPAs. The firm emphasizes the importance of educating clients on the latest accounting trends through social media, quarterly newsletters, webinars on QuickBooks and other tax matters, and CEO round-​tables/​seminars.

Business Owner

Brian J. Wendroff, CPA is the firm’s small business and not for profit specialist, working closely with entrepreneurs to assist them in developing strategic budgets and forecasts to grow their organizations. Brian was a former accountant at the International Accounting Standards Board and is a Service Disabled Army Veteran. He has a bachelors in Accounting from George Mason University (GMU) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently the Chair of the Not for Profit Committee for the Northern Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPAs. In addition, he was recently selected as one of the ‘Best CPA’s in Virginia’ by Virginia Business Magazine and was also selected as a member of GMU’s Inaugural ’20 Prominent Patriots’.

I just started working with these guys, and have been totally impressed! They are so prompt in their response, incredibly knowledgable, and make, what ordinarily is an incredibly stressful experience for me (as a small business owner) easy, organized and calming.
I am working with Kim Conklin and coming from a large accounting firm where I was always pushed off to junior staff — (who messed up my taxes in a huge way, btw) — this is utter heaven. She is a Senior Manager, and yet is working directly with me. She is a pleasure and responds to all of my questions, whether big or small within a day. It’s quite impressive.

I used Wendroff & Associates last year for a complex tax preparation and it was a real pleasure to work with Kim. She was quick, knowlegable and available which was a real relief given that I hired them just a few months before the IRS deadline. Taxes can be very daunting and her ability to explain complex issues with great simplicity gave me the trust that is necessary when building these business relationships. It was wonderful to work them (Kim and Marsha) and hope to do so again in the near future.

I really like dealing with a firm that treats you as a person. Brian, the owner, makes sure you get excellent personalized advice and guidance. He really knows all facets of accounting. I had questions on IRA’s, self employment deductions and several other issues about setting up a business and Brian was able to give me great advice on all my questions. His staff is also very knowledgeable and friendly. For the area, the firm’s rates are very reasonable. If you’re looking for help with your taxes or full service business advice and accounting services Wendroff & Asso. is an excellent firm to deal with.

This firm is great. They are always available in person, by email or over the phone. My company started looking for a new accountant when the firm we had been using in DC went through too much turnover.
We have been working with Wendroff and Associates for several years now. They provide all kinds of services from tax preparation to business consultations. They even do Quickbooks training!
Everyone in the office is super friendly and no question is too «dumb». I highly recommend Brian Wendroff and his entire team. Our company is better off and we look forward to working with them for many years to come!

Good tax prep CPAs are far and in between. Good tax prep CPAs who can also prepare international tax forms [1040NR] are very very rare. I found myself looking for one such CPA a few months ago. Although filing taxes using the Non Resident form is something I’ve done for the past tax seasons, I had some complications that needed an eagle eyed CPA. After doing some searching on Unilocal and Google Places, I found Wendroff and Associates. All I have to say about them is, they are AWESOME!!! Brian, Kim, Jennifer, Darren and others at Wendroff & Associates were awesome at communicating efficiently and effectively, preparing the needed forms without error and putting together the whole package without needing a visit from me in person. Yes, you read that right! The Wendroff team is pretty tech savvy and I did not need to visit their office at all.
The tax prep was painless as well. They just gave me a list of supporting documents they needed from me and I could sent those in by email [scanned copies], mail [photocopies] or in person. I chose to email them because it was simpler. They got back to me with some supplementary questions they had and voila, my tax preparation was done. They emailed me a duplicate set of prepared tax forms and mailed me a set of original tax forms with supporting documents neatly stapled, with envelopes to mail them in, address labels and another set of duplicate forms. To sum up, I highly recommend Brian and his team for a quick, efficient, painless and awesome tax preparation service, even for those filing non-​resident taxes.
Update: May 2013 I had to contact Wendroff & Associates recently because I wanted to send in one of my forms late, due to an address change. Jennifer efficiently took charge of the situation and got me the updated forms I needed. I have nothing but praises for Brian and his team.
Update: March 2014: I retained Wendroff and Associates to do my 2014 joint taxes and they did that on time and efficiently. My wife and I will go with them in 2015 as well.

I’m extremely happy that I discovered Wendroff & Associates a few years ago. They are very responsive, friendly, and do excellent work. I’ve had to file tax returns in multiple states, with a rental property in one state and a business in another, and they handled the complexities with ease, answered all my questions, and completed the work quickly and thouroughly.
They also make good use of technology to streamline the tax filing and payment/​return process. In addition to e-​filing, they’ll also send you a PDF copy of your returns, which are encrypted and password protected to protect your data. They’re also experts in Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online, so if you’re a small business owner, it’s easy to send them your financial data electronically. They are so much easier to work with compared to some of the «old school» CPAs I’ve worked with in the past.
Being a small business owner, I feel very fortunate to have Wendroff & Associates as my CPA. If you’re looking for a new CPA firm, I highly recommend that you give the Wendroff team a try!

I’ve worked with this firm for over 4 years. They’ve helped me to convert from paying taxes as a sole proprietor (LLC) to paying as an S corp, which is saving me a ton of money. Plus, the brothers, Brian and Darren Wendroff, that run this business, are some of the most down to earth, friendly, responsive, and professional business people I’ve ever met. They really stay on top of tax trends and will update you in their e-​mails and on their site. Plus, they call me several times a year to remind me of particular deadlines and they give me new ideas and ways to save on taxes. I highly recommend this growing accounting firm.
