Volunteer Arlington

In late 2005, when I decided I was on hiatus for too long from volunteerism, the first place I turned to was the Arlington County Volunteer Office. Er, well, its website but it is very helpful. If you’re interested in finding volunteer opportunities easily, I would check the Online Volunteer Connection at
. Although many of the opps are in Arlington, many are also in the DC, Metro, and MD areas.
You can create a profile and it can email you openings that are matched to your skills/​interests/​time commitment. This is how I got involved with Computer C.O.R.E. and the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing. Another useful feature is that you can log your hours for each individual organization you’re involved with. There are new listings everyday. Check it out!
