For more than 45 years, Virden, Chapman & Virden, PLLC has built on the high standards of its founder, Walter Virden III, with a commitment to integrity and quality service for its clients. As a firm, we strive to provide professional services to our clients in a proficient manner, and we keep abreast of the latest advancements and evolving technologies. We maintain an extensive library, including the Internal Revenue Code, tax court opinions and IRS regulations. In addition to the firm membership in the Texas Society of CPAs, all three CPA partners maintain membership in the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. To ensure technical proficiency the firm participates in the peer review evaluation process for Compilation and Review Services, and each partner averages 40 hours of coursework in Continuing Professional Education annually.

History

Established in 1969.

In 1969, Walter Virden III, founded the firm Walter Virden III CPA, and established a reputation as a trusted advisor. In 1970 the firm joined the Texas Society of CPAs and has maintained its status since that time. In the ensuing years, the firm has developed prominent practice in accounting, financial reporting, income tax planning and preparation, compilations and reviews, payroll and sales tax preparation, retirement and estate planning, business consulting, and software consulting.

In 1977, Walter Virden III CPA strengthened its accounting practice by hiring Anneta Chapman. Chapman, who earned her CPA certification in 1982, has practiced as a CPA for the firm since then. The firm continued to grow, and in 1997, Walter Virden IV also joined the firm. In 1999, the three professionals formed the partnership, Virden Chapman & Virden, PLLC, and the entity has continued to serve it expanding client base in Arlington and the surrounding Metroplex.

Business Owner

Walter Virden, III, a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, is a certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist, and Certified Financial Planner. He also holds the NASD Series 7 and Series 66 Licenses and a State of Texas General Lines Agent Insurance License. Walter started his career as a staff accountant with Boyd, Young, Gano & Stallings, CPA’s and then later became an Oil and Gas Accountant with Atlantic Richfield Company. In 1972, he founded his own company, Walter Virden, III CPA’s. In 1999, Anneta Chapman and Walter Virden IV joined the firm to form Virden, Chapman & Virden, Pllc, Certified Public Accountant’s.

Walter is an active member of Saint Mark’s Church in Arlington and a member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. He is past President Rotary Club of Arlington, Past President, Board of Trustees for the Arlington Museum of Art and is the current Treasurer of the Arlington Rotary Foundation.
