Vanguard Services Unlimited, a non-profit, community-based organization, offers high-quality residential inpatient and outpatient treatment and prevention programs to individuals and their families who are suffering from the effects of substance abuse. With over 40 years of dedicated service to people regardless of their economic status, Vanguard seeks stop drug addiction, alcoholism, and other forms of substance abuse. Our family of committed professional staff, board members, and volunteers provide excellence in service to those in need.
History
Established in 1962.
Vanguard is the area’s leader in addiction recovery and prevention, operating inpatient and outpatient programs throughout metropolitan Washington, DC. On any given day, more than 200 adolescents and adults are enrolled in our outpatient and residential treatment programs. In addition, we are engaged in drug and alcohol education and prevention programs reaching hundreds of additional families, adults and adolescents alike.
As the oldest and one of the most successful nonprofit substance abuse treatment centers in the area, Vanguard is proud to offer home, help and healing to people struggling with addictions. Since our founding, we have helped more than 30,000 men, women and adolescent teens overcome their substance abuse problems, rejoin their families and lead productive, fulfilling lives
Meet the Business Owner
Deborah S.
Business Owner
Deborah Simpson Taylor has over thirty years of hands on experience treating substance abuse and addiction. Before coming to Vanguard, she has worked for Arlington Hospital Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program and the Suburban Hospital Addiction Treatment Program.
In 2008 Ms. Taylor was an honorable mention recipient of the Gelman, Rosenberg, & Freedman EXCEL award for excellence in the arenas of innovation, motivation, community building, and strategic leadership.
She currently serves as the President/CEO of Vanguard Services Unlimited, a non-profit organization that provides treatment to of over 150 adolescents and adults on a daily basis — over 30,000 since its formation in 1962.
Ms. Taylor has been based in the greater Washington DC area for her ebture career. She trained at Georgetown University and is a licensed registered nurse in both Maryland and Virginia.
