I came here with a friend of mine yesterday. It was warm out so we both decided that some smoothies would hit the spot. The cakes in the display case look delicious so we thought that the smoothies would also be as good. We were wrong. My friends smoothie had zero fruit flavor. She got strawberry-mango I believe and all we could taste was milk. That is unacceptable for a $ 5 smoothie. The woman behind the counter insisted she puts in the most fruit that she was allowed to but it was really bad. I got a pineapple coconut smoothie myself. It also didn’t have much fruit flavor but it was at least drinkable. I’d never buy another smoothie from here but I would try a cake or cookies.

Less than 12 days ago, I obtained an Italian tiramisu cake like treats for my husband and I at this Tivoli Gourmet-Deli near the Ballston metro in Arlington Virginia. The price was pretty reasonable and tasted satisfactory for my husband and I. I also liked that the workers were polite and wrapped my order in a quality box.

We always buy cakes from here for office birthdays so I already knew their cakes were delicious but I had never walked in! Today I went in to get a birthday cake for one of our staff members and I see the wide range of different cakes by the slice, different cookies, napoleons, eclairs… I was in heaven! So obviously I have to try them all. they are simply too delicious and the staff is very helpful, they were very helpful over the phone and very patient and helpful when I came in. I will definitely recommend this place!

I really like this place. However, usually when I go around 5pm on the week days, they are always out of the fruit tarts! So if you want delicious fresh bakery items, defiantly come early. The employees here are really nice and can recommend their favorites. I also bought a cake here for about $ 22 which wasn’t bad. The cake was delicious. They usually don’t always have the same stuff so I like to drop by random times and days to see what goodies they have. I am in love with their fruit Tart and cheesecake. Yummmmm.

Their cakes are delicious! I’ve had the chocolate mousse and what I think was a marble cake. Both were really good — moist and not too sweet. I love getting birthday cakes from Tivoli.

I had a med vanilla chai latte & blueberry muffin for under $ 6. Both were delicious. Everything was fresh & just the right amount for breakfast. They also had a very pretty display of Italian pasties, and if I were going straight home, I would have taken some tasty treats for later. The store is just upstairs from the Ballston station and a perfect alternative to the surrounding chain-store coffee shops.

This place makes some pretty good dessert. I’ll usually come here before or after my class if I’m in the mood for a bagel and I don’t feel like walking all the way to Panera, or if I just want some dessert for whatever reason. I tried this green lemon cake thing the other day and it was so good. It was moist and so pretty, the fruit tart was pretty darn good too, I just didn’t like how hard the bottom was.

I like to stop there for a slice of apricot tart with a cup of coffee. The cakes are always fresh and the staff is very accommodating. My favs besides the apricot tart, is mango mousse — so light and fresh it melts I your mouth. Cute little place and a good value too! I will be back!

This place is fast and fresh, as well as delicious. I’m probably here 3x a week for breakfast and coffee. They have a simple menu, but it’s enough. Bagels, bagel sandwiches, breakfast burritos, omelets, and breakfast potatoes – all very very basic but it does the job. For lunch, there’s a larger selection, with a ton of hot and cold sandwiches to choose from. Once I got a sandwich for lunch and I expressed concern that it would be soggy, and they wrapped the bread, lettuce and tomato, and chicken salad with apple slices ALLSEPARATELY. I was beyond impressed and even touched. My lunch was perfect that day. When you walk in, there’s the bakery section and then further back is the deli and coffee. They also have snacks you can buy like kettlecorn or chips or nuts, and apples and bananas. Literally they just have everything and my only regret is that I didn’t discover this place sooner! The staff is so supremely friendly no matter how busy it is, and now I’m just waiting for the day they acknowledge me as a Regular.

Tucked inside a business building across ballston metro. It’s a great go to during my commute because it’s literally next to the ballston metro. It’s a family owned business and I’m all about supporting locals. Couple stars down for the bakery section. Really not that great and not fresh. Better to go elsewhere. The sweets are definitely not made by them. Although I do enjoy their sandwiches and ice chai tea! They also serve breakfast. I recommend sticking to the basics like bagel with cream cheese. My experience with the breakfast choices were gross… keep finding hair… yuck. BUT during late afternoons for some reason… I don’t have any problems. Maybe it’s a switch of cooks. The BLT sandwich is my go to. You can choose your choice of bread and how you want it made. The chicken salad sandwich is also good with rye bread. Everything is less than $ 10. Definitely inexpensive and a quick grab. Minimal seats but never crowded. So you’ll always find a seat. It’s really not a bad place. Just stick to their sandwiches and drinks.

Nice selection of desserts. Good for a coffee and dessert during the middle of the day. Nestled in front of the Ballston Metro it’s a 10 minute escape. People walking all around. Seating is usually available although the lines can sometimes be long. Try the chocolate cake with some lack coffee :)

I enjoyed their breakfast for the first time this past week, since my typical breakfast spot recently closed(RIP Manhattan Bagel). I was pleasantly surprised! I had a toasted bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon. The majority of breakfast spots, within a block or 2 of the metro, do a terrible job with breakfast, churning out sandwiches with cold/unmelted cheese, barely toasted bread, or run out of what you want bread-wise by 8am. If you order a toasted bagel with creamed cheese from Panera, they put a bagel in a bag with a plastic pod of creamed cheese. Your food is cold by the time you get to the office. I can confidently say Tivoli’s breakfast sandwich was everything I wanted. They have great everything bagels, the women at the counter were very nice, and my breakfast was warm when I reached the office.

Your sweet tooth will have so much fun here. It’s a gem of a location with employees to match. After a long day of sitting through conference lecturers, I made my way to this place. The desserts were so pretty, I wanted one of each! I settled on an éclair, a couple thumbprints with raspberry jelly in the middle, and an almond cookie. Yes, all of that just for me and I did not share. Great location next to the Hilton and right off the Ballston Metro stop.

This place is cute. Soon as you walk in your instantly drooling over the delicately crafted backed cakes, desserts, cookies, cupcakes… you name it they have it. Definitely not a place for those with irresistible sweet tooths. Its right up the escalator from the Ballston Metro Stop in the Ballston Metro Center office building. I stopped there one morning before an interview and just picked up a bagel and cream cheese. The seating however is very limited. I was kind of lucky because I arrived about 10 a. m after all the rush traffic and there were about 3 of 4 tables available. The spacing is tight still even when there is no one occupying them. So, I would suggest that you take you food on the go if you can.

Here’s a test for those of you who have started to doubt your humanity because your boring job and obnoxious superiors and lack of life outside of work have made you feel you’re just a cog in a giant machine. Enter Tivoli from the side facing Ballston Metro. Did you instantly start drooling over the array of fancy candies and gorgeous pastries? Did your sweet tooth roar GIMMEALLFOODSNOW so loudly that the windows rattled? If the answer is no, you are in fact a cog in a giant machine. My only problem with this place is it puts me in Sweet Overload. Which is what happens when you are confronted with so many beautiful sweets that you can’t decide on one or three or a dozen. This is also the only place that I know that sells a particular candy I really like. The staff is very nice and I understand they also serve other kinds of food, which I am sure I will check out, some day.

This place is a bit hidden inside an office building on the ground level, but sure is amazing! I love finding small businesses like this and prefer to frequent these over Starbucks, etc. I’ve only had their baked goods and smoothies, which are both amazing, but my mom goes there for coffee over the other coffee shops in the area. This says a lot as she’s a true coffee snob! I love the fact that they have a good selection of snacks including gluten free chips. I’ve been meaning to try their deli meats and cheeses, but can only imagine that they are pretty darn good.

Tucked into the front corner of an office building, this place is far better suited for«to go» food rather than eating in the establishment. Most of the tables are in the office building’s public foyer. The garden salad was full of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and shredded cheese. However, the dressing was so-so and poured out of a gallon container right in front of me. The tuna melt was okay. The filling was good but the ciabatta bread seemed a bit stale to me. Service was friendly but very very slow.
