You know, Steinmart has always been a good establishment, but their pricing has soared a bit in the past two years… this particular location is closing, moving, I guess, so we’ll see how the next year works.

I love Stein Mart. L-O-V-E. In spite of my love affair with the chain with its boutique-like feel, unusual clothing, beautiful housewares, and downright screaming deals, this is my least favorite location. The store seems cramped as compared to other locations, most especially to the front of the store near the checkout area. I have always had less than a great experience with each visit here. One time, when I questioned a price, the manager on duty got immediately antagonistic with me — really rude. I would probably have said it’s kind of stupid that the exact same item in a different color would be priced completely differently, but at least I would have not been put off if he would have explained in a professional manner rather than acting like I had challenged him to a fight. I didn’t come back to this location for quite some time after that. This last visit was the day after Christmas, and was only because I had a return from a purchase at another location. Of course they were busy, but they front area is so cramped there was no way to actually queue up and be served in the order in which you walked up. No single line where each cashier could take the next guest, just a giant cluster of people jockeying for position, cutting each other off and hoping they don’t get behind the one person who takes forever. C’mon SteinMart — can’t you do better? Take a lesson from Nordstrom’s Rack! One line for efficient checkout. Go to the Colleyville or Irving location and get better service and more enjoyable surroundings. But don’t miss Stein Mart. It rocks.

Great place to buy men clothing. I have been going to Stein Mart for many years. They have some really good deals on clothing. Stein Mart has all the designer names. But at a discount. And I have shopped around. The price is cheaper here. Plus they have sells all the time so wait and buy when they have a sell. I was at Macy’s the other day so I needed a belt. And the belts Calvin, Perry Ellis to name a few were 42 dollars. Did not get one. Went to Stein Mart the same belts same designers names had them for 14 to 16 dollars. Much better deal. Izod shirts 40 dollars at the Mall only 19 dollars at Stein Mart. The place is nice and clean never busy. Not over crowded with clothes like some stores. Not much help you pretty much help yourself. But that can be good.

Stein Mart is like a slightly more costly, slightly smaller Kohls. A stand-alone department store with everything from clothes, to accessories, to furniture, to kitchenware, to holiday décor; a one-stop-shop that helps you avoid a trip to the mall(a trip I loathe to take). I recently went to this Stein Mart for the first time in many, many years. When I was really young I joined my mother on a few trips(we didn’t go often because it wasn’t nearby). I remember thinking, «this place is kinda boring,» as any venue without food or entertainment is to a child. As an adult, Stein Mart isn’t nearly so boring to me, but to be honest, it’s not too terribly interesting either… pretty standard. Stein Mart does sell some nice designer brands, although I’d probably never buy a Michael Kors jacket even when it’s way cheaper here. You know, I didn’t find any pieces of clothing for less than $ 20 at Stein Mart, not even in the super-discounted sections. Although many things are on sale and every original price is cut down, you’re definitely going to spend a chunk of change. I’m an adult now and should probably spend a decent amount of money on decent, well-made clothes… But I’m too frugal when it comes to everyday wear(leggings, sundresses, simple tops, shorts, etc.). I can’t bring myself to spend $ 39.99 on one plain black top. If it’s something a little fancy or unique for an occasion, then sure. You’re probably reading this review and thinking that I’m an unreasonable shopper, which is probably true. Is it silly that I’d rather have 4 cheap sweaters in different colors from forever21 than 1 well-made sweater from Stein Mart? Yeah, that’s a little silly, especially when my cheap sweaters fall apart in the wash. I’m getting better though! I enjoyed perusing through Stein Mart’s clothes and accessories and thinking, «these are nice.» Even though most items here look kind of like church-going apparel to me. I swear everything is business casual, and I need casual-casual. Bonus points for Stein Mart’s small but awesome holiday section. Halloween treasures are on display now, and that always makes my day.
