Simplicity Wellness offers patients the services and continuity of care provided by primary care physicians directly from our Urgent Care facility in Arlington.

History

Established in 2010.

In 2009, Dr. John Jones and Dr. John Maguire noticed a need for urgent care services in the Arlington area.

As local physicians with 25 combined years of experience, they were already providing expert care. As accredited emergency medicine providers, they knew plenty about fast, friendly service.

In the year that followed, Dr. Jones and Dr. Maguire used their expertise in emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine to build Simplicity Urgent Care.

The first facility of its kind in the area, the urgent care center provides convenient, consistent care in an efficient clinical environment.

By design, Simplicity Urgent Care makes healthcare easier, faster, and smarter.

In 2012, Simplicity was named as a finalist in the Small Service Business category of the ABBIEs, Arlington’s annual business awards.

In October 2012, Simplicity Urgent Care launched Simplicity Wellness, a primary care practice with all the ease and convenience of urgent care.

Our goal is to provide a medical center where you can see a doctor any day of the week — whether you have insurance or not.

As I mentioned, I’m temporarily watching my little brothers while my parents are away so of course during this time period both of them contracted a skin infection from wrestling. We needed to get this taken care of quickly so I took them to Simplicity Urgent Care across the street.
Unlike the last walk-​in clinic I went to (it’s been a rough few weeks), I was very impressed with the level of care and professionalism that I was met with from start to finish. The front desk person was patient and friendly and helped me work through my mom’s insurance information that I had to receive via FB messenger in realtime.
Our wait was less than an hour which was a pleasant surprise and our doctor was very knowledgeable and kind. She took the time to really look over each of my brothers and explain the next steps. We were off and on our way!
Even after we have paid and left, I was very impressed with our follow up care. They called me the next day to check in on my brothers and when I had a few follow up questions the next day (even on an unrelated matter) they took the time to get on the phone with me and give me advice. That’s service!

I have been coming to Simplicity since it opened and have had really good experiences here up until the other night. I came in on a Tuesday night and it was busy I waited an hour in the waiting room before being seen which was understandable because they were busy and it is flu season. I got called back into the exam room and the nurse who asked all the questions was so nice and adorable. I waited for about 5 mins and then in comes Dr. Roy he asked me what was wrong and I explained that I am pretty sure that I had a sinus infection he did the quickest exam ever (5 mins max) and then told me that he would write me a prescription for antibiotics but not fill it just yet and keep taking my Flonase and Mucinex mind you this is the first time a doctor has told me this and I have had many sinus infections. So I figured he was the expert and did just that and I am feeling better but let’s fast forward to Thursday morning and I wake up with pink eye! So I take myself back to Simplicity and the doctor I saw this time was much more through and gave me tips on how to drain my sinuses and then told me that I should have been the antibiotics and that probably would have prevented me from getting pink eye. I am a preschool teacher and I am sure that is where I caught it from but I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I had just started the antibiotics. I will continue to go here if need be but I may steer clear of Dr. Roy.

I went there in after noon Monday with my husband. waiting room was clean. and no line. I’m a foreigner. Mostly my husband will be answer a question that I don’t understand. A reception there was so rude. She asked me do u understand English? Even my answer is no. She already get the answer from my husband. ?!? What’s the point ?!. Btw nurse (Jose) was really nice and doesn’t a good job. Dr. Jeramy take care me good. Everything was fine. Only one thing should change is receptionist!!!

I am thankful for the receptionist, nurses and doctors here. I recently went here in tears given how horrible I felt. The receptionist made me smile and immediately put me at ease. While I waited some, it was worth it given the Doctor was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient. He listened to me thru my tears and promised to help me. I knew he would. I would definitely go back and highly recommend the clinic. I am so glad it is conveniently located to my house. Thanks to the team there.

I arrived at opening time, 8am on Monday, 1÷11÷2016. The office was not open. I waited until 8:20am then left. I went to VA Hospital Center Urgent Care.
I can’t trust the quality of care from a doctor’s office that can’t even open on time.

The facility is clean and if you go early in the morning you’ll be seen quickly. The staff have always been lovely. Professional, prompt, and friendly.
However, as of January 1, 2016 they don’t take co-​pays but rather deductibles. This made my most recent visit there $ 150 out of pocket. Two people while I was waiting walked out and said it was ridiculously expensive and they’d find another place. I have to imagine this will hurt them over time. The good news: maybe it won’t be that busy?!
I’ve loved having this facility so close to home but there is no way I’ll continue to pay $ 150 for a quick trip to urgent care.

Just an update — I received a follow-​up call from one of the nurses. Checking to see how I was feeling with the meds prescribed. This has NEVER happened in all my urgent care visits. Kudos to the doctors and nurses at Simplicty!

This is a review on this business’ office practices, not their medical staff.
We went to see the urgent care doctor and when the visit was over we decided to make an appointment for a physical in the future, it ended up being scheduled for about 2 months out. We were very wrapped up in my husband’s sickness that day, so I requested a reminder appt card so that we could mark our calendar. The woman at the front stated that they don’t do reminder cards but not to worry because we would be getting a reminder call before the appointment. Well, that never happened. A couple of months went by and we began getting a bill for $ 50 and I was not sure why. After contacting the billing department and office manager, I was told it was a $ 50 no show fee for the appointment. I politely explained to the office manager that there obviously was some sort of miscommunication, we never got a reminder call and therefore quite simply and unintentionally forgot. However, it was useless… according to her it was our fault for missing the appointment so they were not willing to make any sort of exception. To us, this was extremely discourteous since $ 50 is no small amount. Also, considering the circumstance, for them to say they were unwilling to work with us to waive or lower the amount is ridiculous. We will NOT be returning here.

I had a great experience with them yesterday. I just moved to the area and don’t have a primary care doctor yet, but ended up with a fever and bad sore throat and knew I probably had strep. I went in on a Monday afternoon– didn’t have to wait long, everyone was helpful, and they sent my prescription over to a local pharmacy for me right away. They even called this morning to check on me. I would definitely use them again for a similar ailment, if I couldn’t get in with a regular doctor.

I went in to see the doctor after having already been prescribed a medication over the phone by my primary care doctor. I seemed to be getting worse and so I decided seeing someone in person would be better. I waited about an hour and then saw the doctor for about 10 minutes only to have her tell me what I already knew.
I then got the bill and was charged for a 45 minute office visit in addition to being charged for coming «outside of business hours». I didn’t realize that coming while you’re open was outside of business hours. My health insurance has been trying to call their billing department for over a month with no response.
In addition, the nurse who took my information was terribly rude and almost didn’t allow me to see the doctor due to the fact that i already had a prescription.

In the span of seven days, I ran 1 5k, ran a 10 mile race, did yoga and Crossfit, and did a relay with cartwheels with middle schoolers. I never thought it was a problem until my right knee, left ankle, and right thumb started hurting. I could hardly walk because the pain was unbearable. I came to Simplicity because I was in the area, and I am glad that I did.
The male nurse, Tedasse (I believe) was awesome! He, like me, had a sense of humor that sort of made the pain bearable. The doctor came in and told me that nothing seemed broken, but he wanted to do x-​rays to be sure.
No broken bones! Yay!!!
Unfortunately, I’m not in the area, so I can’t come as often as I want.

This place turned me away when I had a serious concussion and needed to be evaluated because I had my workers comp information on my phone and not printed out. They had no qualms with me driving away as well. Extremely negligent.

After all this time, I forgot to update this review to provide the ending to the cliffhanger of «WTF is wrong with Lea that Dr. Mar thinks is psychosomatic?!?»
A severe allergic reaction to new face lotion, which I had been applying for about a wk (the burning should have been the biggest clue, but I thought that was a result of the dry skin I had gotten the lotion for), with the symptoms getting progressively worse. I had hives, including IN MY MOUTH (which was one of the things I was concerned about that Dr. Mar missed and I had to point out) on my face/​neck, my face was flushed and swollen, and my tongue and throat were swollen. Good thing it wasn’t anaphylaxis, because I would have died. BTW, no questions pertaining to the consideration of an allergic reaction were asked by Dr. Mar, but that should be obvious.
How did we figure it out? I basically went straight up to Boston and the first thing my BF said to me at the airport was «honey you have really bad hives!» which my physician was luckily and promptly able to treat before things got worse.
So…yeah. Epic medicine FAIL that I thankfully survived.
Oh, and that cellular process I mentioned I had to explain? Insulin metabolism, after she accused me of being diabetic (which I am not). Good thing I keep up with medical lit, despite not being a doctor…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I say again, avoid.

I have been here twice and both times were worthy of 5 stars. The first visit had me in and out in 30 minutes. The lobby was empty and I sailed through the process. I saw a doctor within 15 minutes and the results from the flue test immediately.
The second time I visited was for a broken finger. Instead of walking to a different wing and waiting again in a new lobby for an X-​ray, I walked across the hallway and was done in 10 minutes.
If you have never been to a local urgent care facility than I highly recommend you try Simplicity Urgent Care.
Both times, the experience was exceptional. I will definitely go there again.

I visited this urgent care twice so far, the first visit was pleasant, and average, nothing special, but they took care of me, and I was satisfied, so I got another thing that I wanted to check so I went there again.
I was there yesterday, and my reason for this review is to help you with your next visit, its a nice place, but make sure to avoid DR. JEREMY SPINKS. Ask for another doctor or you will only get 10 seconds from this INCOMPETENT Dr. Spinks.
They did some tests and decided to send me to the ER for no apparent reason, simply because he didn’t know what to do next.
I didn’t go to ER, rather, I visited another Doctor which had a very different but accurate diagnosis. I’m 30 years old, and I have never seen a doctor that doesn’t know what he is talking about more than this Dr. Spinks.
The nurse at Simplicity performed a heart test, blood pressure test, pulse test, and she was very nice and professional. But then he walked in, said «nothing looks wrong to me but we cant provide you ANY GUARANTEES so you should go the the ER». He was walking out of the room as I was asking him questions as on why do I have to go there and what do you think is going on. He spent ONLY 10 – 20 seconds with me, and that was the only time I saw him during my 1.5 hour visit (the rest is waiting and nurse tests). I wasted time and money seeing this inconsiderate, and incompetent non-​doctor, go there, but make sure to AVOID SPINKS.

I went in right when they opened and was in and out in under 20 minutes. The doctor was very nice and everyone was professional. Definitely one of my more positive experiences with urgent care. The one downside is their pharmacy is running low on a lot of things so I had to go to cvs down down the street. I’m on business travel so I was really hoping to use their in house pharmacy but cvs is maybe .5 miles away so not a bad alternative. I would definitely recommend this place.

Appalling experience here before the holidays. Refused any treatment for my 80-​yr-​old father because I couldn’t produce a secondary medicare card (had his license and primary insurance card). Was told «we are private and need two cards for billing». My dad was dehydrated and weak and they would not even take his blood pressure or lay a hand to help. Had to drive to VA Hospital Center and put him through a stressful six hour ordeal to get IV fluids. Will NEVER return to this facility. One star as there was lots of parking and an empty waiting room — no wonder.

I have visited Simplicity Urgent Care twice now. The first time was just for a medical questionnaire for work so I was not sick nor did I see a doctor. It was a pleasant experience. The second time, however, I was in need of medical care so I decided to visit here once again.
Upon entering, I was greeted and my information was taken. The waiting area is nice, complete with a bathroom, children’s area, TV, seating and magazines. There is a private area of the reception for you to explain your visit so the entire waiting area does not know your information and why you are there. I have health insurance and, as far as I can tell, do not have any issues with any of the billing.
I was called in about 10 minutes and the nurse was very detailed in taking my vitals and asking me questions. I came in with a horrible and painful infection, knowing exactly what it was. Being a veteran of this infection, I had brought in my own sample so I would not have to go through the pain and anxiety of obtaining the sample at the doctor’s office. Unfortunately, the nurse insisted on obtaining a fresh sample, even though mine was only about 20 minutes old. I took it right before coming to the office and every other clinic I have been to in the past accepted my own sample. This is the reason why I removed a star because I had to go through all of that discomfort at their office, which I felt was not necessary. Being in so much pain, there wasn’t too much of an objection I could insist upon either.
The doctor that helped me was Dr. Haque. She spoke with me in detail about my prescription options and examined me fully. She is a great doctor that I could tell cared about my well being and was passionate about what she does. If it was possible, I would schedule all of my medical needs with her. However, this clinic is walk-​in based and does not let you request specific doctors. Upon my leaving, the receptionist wished me to feel better, which I thought was really nice. I also received a phone call the next day from the receptionist, asking if I was feeling better and to call them if I needed any further assistance.
This clinic also has their own pharmacy, which is great! However, in my case, they did not have the prescription I needed so I did have to make another stop to a CVS (there is one 4 minutes away up Columbia Pike). This leads me to believe their pharmacy is limited.
All in all, it was still a pleasant experience. I would certainly go back if I needed medical care and would recommend this place to others in the same situation.
