Richter Animal Hospital & Pet Resort

My husband and I were searching for a new veterinarian for our two aging dogs and read many reviews before deciding on Richter Animal Hospital. We met with Dr. Randolph and he was exactly what we were looking for. The communication was great and all our questions were answered. The staff was so friendly and we didn’t feel rushed through like cattle. I highly recommend Richter!

The staff and vet at Richter Animal Hospital were very helpful and friendly, they made us and Kyra feel very comfortable. The building is clean and welcoming, I think we have found a permanent vet and boarding for our furbaby. Thank you!

Richter animal hospital has been like a home. The people are all sweet, personable and very caring of your pet and you. I will not have another vet clinic as long as I am in TX.

I boarded dog here for a weekend and they were supposed to bathe her well I picked her up on Monday after the weekend and first of all she looked dirty still like her hair was really flat and looked like she had dandruff so I get her in the car and she stinks to high heaven so I get her home and I notice she keeps sticking her foot in her ear so I look in her ear and it’s so swollen and red and it’s bleeding I guess from her sticking her foot in it to scratch it. So i call the office and I’m pissed cause I’m like ok first of all no one said anything to me about her ear. And ear which they have treated for many infections and she was there all weekend. Clearly she wasn’t bathed cause she reeks and IF they so called bathed her then they would have cleaned her ears leading them to see the raging infection. So I take her back in the office manager profusely apologizes they offer to re bathe her and give me some kind of credit. Which the only credit was re bathing her or actually bathing her a service I had paid for and didn’t receive. So turns out she has a staph infection on her skin (which the vet claims she couldn’t have gotten while being boarded there) hence the smell and obviously an ear infection and the dr never once addresses their neglect while she was being boarded and that’s unacceptable!!! It’s so disappointing because my mother and I have gone to this vet for many years and they just brushed it off like it didn’t matter. No one ever called me to follow up to see if she was ok. It’s out of the way which I didn’t mind because it previously was a vet I liked and thought I could trust but they have just gotten extremely overpriced and obviously neglectful and I just can’t trust them with my fur baby anymore. So just beware if you decide to take your pet here or board them in their careless facility.

Richter Animal Hospital/​Pet Resort is THE place for pets in Arlington and probably all of Dallas! I have been taking my dog Mika here for daycare and the staff is amazing. It only took a couple days before they knew my by name and they treat your pet like royalty. Mika goes crazy when she figures out we are going to daycare here! Front desk, daycare staff, and vets, the staff is A+!

We left our two large dogs here while on vacation recently. After touring the suite area I knew I wanted the largest suite that wasn’t the presidential suite. All the suites have clear glass doors except the presidential suite. The dogs seemed to enjoy seeing the staff and people like me come and go; I knew I wanted my dogs to have that interaction. The suite was an easy choice because 1) my dogs would be together 2) they would get treats everyday 3) I would be able to log into an app and view a very good camera shot of my dogs every move. I actually logged in everyday and observed one of my dogs being quite mean to the other by taking his food and treats. My female was being such a butthead to my poor male dog. I think next time I will do the regular boarding area so they have separate kennels and just pay for extra playtime and extra treats.
Some boarding facilities, especially those located in vets offices don’t let dogs off leash during their outings. However the employees described in detail how hard in was to catch my huskyxgsd when playtime was over, so I knew my dogs got to run without a leash. I am grateful this place and the employees seem to do what a dog would want them to do, instead of the minimal. I will definitely be going back for boarding.

We started taking our 2 dogs and 1 cat to Richter last year. A friend of mine recommended Richter to us after we had gone through a bad experience at the previous vet that we were using. Dr. Randolph is great and has taken excellent care of our fur babies. The rest of the staff is helpful and friendly as well. They also have an amazing doggy daycare program.

I have been taking my dog to Richter for about 3 years. She was a pound pup who came with a few issues. Dr. Richter quickly got her fixed up and she has never had a problem since. His staff is incredibly sweet and they love all over the animals any chance they get. Which in turn makes my dog very comfortable to be there, she even gets super excited when we pull up because she just knows she is going to be showered in love and treats. I have never felt as if they tried to run random tests to jack up the bill. The vet techs are very knowledgeable and friendly in person/​over the phone. Most recently I needed my dog to get the Rattle Snake Vaccine, when I called their bottle had expired but they would order it for me, and two days later I get a call that the new vaccine had arrive and to bring her in he same day for it, that right there is AMAZING customer service. That, among many other reasons is why I will continue to take my dog there. Happy dog, happy owner :)

Don’t know who loves this place more me or my fur baby. She can’t wait to come play with her daycare friends (both canine and human). And I love that I can see how much fun she is having either through a webcam or Instagram pics.

Richter’s has always taken great care of my dog. They have an amazing doggy day care program and are nice enough to answer all of my questions and address any concerns I have. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a vet or a place to take their dog to daycare.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. They treat you and your dog like family! Superior care. Prices are fair, their interest is genuinely in the best interest of your pet. These guys made our move to the area feel like home and have done so much for us. Can’t imagine going anywhere else.

My dog had a great place to stay when we lived in Phoenix. He went there weekly for daycare, monthly for grooming and stayed there when I was out of town. He demanded to go there because he loved it so much. Richter Animal Hospital portrays that it will be of a similar caliber. However, what I saw on the webcam definitely showed that was incorrect.
When dropping Cooper off I signed him up for daycare. I marked Fri & Mon and the lady checking me in reminded me that Monday would not be a typical daycare day since it was a holiday. On Friday, prior to & after our flight I checked on Cooper several times and never once caught him outside of his room. His usually perky ears were practically touching each other on the back of his head. He looked stressed. He is not used to being stuck in such a small area for so long — hence why I wanted daycare.
Cooper was still in his room around 1pm so I called to find out why — only to be told he has been in daycare. I pointed out that this was a lie, only to be told that new fence was being installed and that I ‘was told daycare wouldn’t be normal’… I knew that for Monday — not Friday! I was also told they were doing what they can for ‘over 100 dogs’. Later when I tried to check on Cooper again the camera wasn’t working. Still didn’t work through Sat AM when they decided to inform me new cameras were installed and needed different software. It seems odd that a place (which is probably at max capacity on a holiday weekend) would do so much construction during that time.
Sunday night saw my dog did not get fed (the other days the bowl was at least in the room so I assume he did get fed those times — although he lost lots of hair and a few pounds so who knows). Tried to see if we could pick him up Monday but since it was a holiday we couldn’t get ahold of anyone. Picked him up as soon as we could Tuesday. Needless to say, he was happy to be home! Some coworkers have since recommended themselves or Urban Paws in Dallas– which I will be checking out next week.
A few questions to ask yourself before trusting this place with your pet:
–how can a dog be in daycare if he wasn’t once caught on camera outside of his room? I still got charged for a supposed evaluation that I doubt occurred.
–how does a place that at any time has 100+ dogs staying there have so few reviews (positive or negative)???
–do you have someone that can go ‘rescue’ your pet while you are gone if need be?
My dog is like my kid. I’m going to check in on him. Unfortunately, this place failed miserably.

Best vets and staff around. I have been using RAH for years now and I have never had one issue! I personally own 7 dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs so needless to say we have experienced a wide variety of incidents over the years. All of which they have handled with amazing bed side manner and the best ways possible. The one incident that sticks out the most for me though was the loss of my best friend~my 11 year old Bull Mastiff Bully Bully! He was MY first dog to ever have to let go and I knew that it would be the hardest decision I would ever make! I was a vet tech for years before so I had gone through the whole process before but on the other side! As I sat in the room with my Bully and his head in my lap the staff slowly came in one at a time with teary eyes and gave my boy kisses and reassured me that everything would be ok and that there will be no more pain. As Dr. McDaniel came in for us to say our final goodbyes she shared numerous tears with me as Bully crossed over the rainbow bridge. The way that they all handled my sweet boy made my heart smile. They helped me make ceramic paw prints and truly made the situation 100 times better then what it could have been. For this once specific incident I will always be loyal to the RAH staff.
On another note Dr. Richter has done several surgeries for my kids that most vets would refer over to the Surgery centers! This I appreciate more than anything. The fact that he is capable and comfortable with performing surgeries that are considered advanced is proof that he is up to date with the current technology of veterinary medicine. He has a true understanding of how much my dogs mean to me and never makes me feel like I am doing anything excessive. He never pushes for unnecessary test and knows exactly how aggressive I want to be with treatments!
I highly recommend this place to any and everyone who wants the absolute best care for their pet. I own a dog daycare and boarding facility in West Fort Worth and I tell my clients all the time that they are worth the drive. The entire staff is amazing and they really do care about your pets!

My dog Hailey loves it here. Everyone is so friendly. She enjoys the daycare, the groomer is a amazing. She doesn’t even mind being boarded here. Two thumbs up. Our furry friends are like our kids, this place treats them with care.

It’s kind of hard to review this place for me since an old friend of mine works here but I’ll try…
So, putting that aside I’ll tell you what I experienced.
My first impression is that this clinic is beautiful. The front is nicely landscaped, and the interior is inviting. But I’m also judging a location that’s brand new (Grand Opening was Nov. 13^th, 2010 and you see what date my review is).
The staff was very courteous even when they were busy with other customers (acknowledged me soon after I walked in).
Check-​In is painless. If you’re a new client (like myself), just bring a copy of your pet’s shot records and fill out a short form for contact information (that’s it).
Later when I picked up my dog (who was in a great mood), my friend gave me a tour of the facility.
If you’re familiar with the PetsHotel at PetSmart then you’ve got the basic idea of what it’s like here (but there are some added benefits to boarding here instead of a PetsHotel).
There are suites for dogs (with televisions, beds and apparently web cams — so you can keep an eye on your pet while you’re away). And they offer an enclosed backyard (with tall wooden fences) to give your dog someplace to run around.
I particularly liked the cat boarding area (which provides an outside view for your cat). Hopefully they have something out there to entice birds, squirrels and other small woodland creatures to gather by that window so the cats will have something to watch (other then an empty yard).
Overall, I enjoyed the experience there and will likely return for future boarding and grooming needs.
