I have been crying for two days because of the Edward Scissor Hands haircut I got. First. I walked in– one hairdresser was seated in her chair talking on her cellphone on speaker phone. The two started bickering about who’s turn it was to cut hair. I said I didn’t really care who’s turn it was, but I wanted the person who cut short hair better– I was going from past shoulder length to a chin length bob. Needless to say, the woman on her cell phone insisted the other person was better. I showed her several photos. She kept cutting… And cutting… And cutting. At one point she told me she had to cut the back so short because she couldn’t «get it straight». Instead of asking if I have a cowlick back there(which I do, just off the the left that causes it to look like its curling up), SHEKEPTCUTTING. Horrible. I should have known when she was washing my hair with freezing cold water and pulled the back of my dress down without asking to see the tattoo on my back. I look like she used a bowl to cut my hair. It’s definitely my fault I didn’t say anything, but I didn’t realize what a bad haircut it actually was until I got home… It’s crooked and so unbelievably uneven I literally can’t do one thing about it. I called my hairdresser from back home in New York and her first response was«oh my god did you go to supercuts?!» And then proceeded to tell me that if I want it fixed the«sides will probably have to come off because they’re so uneven» Also come to find out, I’m a little irritated their haircuts are $ 40. My reason being– when she rang me out and charged me $ 40, she said she was giving me a discount… Needless to say, the hairstylists couldn’t care less whether they had a customer or not, and the Asian woman with purple hair can’t cut hair to save her life.

This review would be more of 2.5 stars, but I’ll round up for good measure. If the review was for Julie’s Eyebrow waxing it would be 5 stars. I work across the street from the Ballston Mall and frequently visit Julie to get a monthly eyebrow and upper lip wax. She usually gives me a great deal, like $ 12 for both, and in turn I give her a $ 7 tip or more. She is FANTASTIC with eyebrow waxing. She gives them great shape, length and will tweeze any small strands left. I’ve paid triple the price for an equal or worse job. The shop is bright and clean– its a chain so it has its own company standards. However, the management seems a little lackluster. I would make appointments to see Julie, but when I showed up I would end up waiting 15 or 20 minutes because she had a client run over their scheduled time. Couldn’t someone call me and tell me? When I’m there– no one ever talks to me about their other services or gives me a coupon, even though I’m a big repeat guest. You won’t be offered water or a beverage which also separates them from other 5 star salons in the area.

My husband was in a hurry and needed a quick haircut. He popped into this Regis Salon. The woman who took him acted annoyed that he was there and said that although she was supposed to leave in 10 minutes, she would cut his hair if he paid cash. Eager to get a cut, he complied. Unfortunately, she worked so quickly that she dropped the comb, did not towel dry his hair, and gave him a haircut he is now, and should be, embarrassed of. Needless to say, 10 minutes is not quite enough time for a haircut and he won’t be coming back…

Horrible service! I received the worst color job I’ve ever had. It will take years to regrow the damaged hair. The worst stylist is Rahime. She doesn’t listen to what the client wants and has an IQ of a rat. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I had the worst haircut of my life at this salon. I have long hair and like some subtle layers in the back and chin-length layers in the front. I asked for about two inches off. I got a half-mullet, half-skunk tail. I have an annoying bang that keeps falling in my eyes(and is way shorter than chin length). I can barely put my hair a ponytail because it seems the back of my hair is layered super short at the top, presumably to complement the mullet look. The styling for the blow dry made me look 20 years older. I used the $ 40 for $ 20 LivingSocial coupon and looked up the rates for a cut and dry on the Regis website which said $ 35. When I got there I was told that the price for«long hair» was $ 50, which the hairdresser did reduce to $ 40, but I still found sketchy. The manager was totally unhelpful in that situation. The hairdresser was also fairly unprofessional, wearing a ripped and stained sweatshirt. I will never go back. I’m probably going to go to another salon and go back to wearing my hair short because I am humiliated of how my hair looks even after showering out all the product and styling it myself.

If you received the recent $ 40 for $ 20 Living Social coupon, keep in mind that you can only use this for your basic hair cut blow dry service. The fine print doesn’t say it on the coupon, however they do let you know right when you come in. Like Katie m. below, I had Julia. She was super friendly and very fast. I have a ton of hair(long and thick) and she put all over highlights on my strawberry blonde hair and gave me a nice trim with angled bangs. It was my first time for highlights and I guess the price is normal for this area($ 100 + extra $ 10 if you have long hair). I’m only saying this was OK because the manager seemed rude. She was very hard on her employees even in front of customers and was just lounging like a queen when I came in. Super unprofessional lady. After she left the salon she phoned my hair dresser asking for me to pay while she was still putting highlights in my hair. Not cool. I’ve never been to a salon where they ask you to pay in the middle of the thing so I refused and said I would only pay after the service was complete. My guess is the manager was assuming I wouldn’t pay the full amount for highlights because of the coupon. The manager at this place is what drags the rating down. Even though Julia was great I’m never going again.

So I got a «fat girl’s goatee» haircut. Bangs and graduated length to cover up the double chins. $ 40 for a haircut is the going price here. I walked in, got my hair cut according to my directions(including no more than half an inch off the back) and was out of there in fifteen minutes. When I looked in, I wondered if they would assign me the Asian hairdresser with the maroon streaks in her hair but Tara with her blondish curly hair did a fine job. Although, as I told her what I wanted, she did get progressively more excited at the prospect of covering up my chins. She took the blow dryer and the curling brush to lay the newly razored hair into a faceplate of hair. It did look nice and will never look that way again. Next time, I’ll try one of the barber shops for my goatee.

I went to Regis in Ballston Commons 2 weeks ago because I was new to the area and received a coupon in the mail. I wanted a simple cut — shoulder-length and straight all the way around. I figured that would be easy for anyone. I was wrong. The woman who cut my hair was, first of all, incredibly unprofessional. At one point, she even told me that I needed to be careful because I was developing wrinkles between my eyes… and a few other unsolicited comments. She also used measuring tape to measure my hair… like she couldn’t cut a straight line around without it. She then started layering the back after I specifically asked her for no layering. She told me that she needed to to make it look better. When I left, I had two distinct layers in the back, and it was shorter than the front… not in a good way. I ended up going to a different salon the following week and getting it fixed.
