Porsche of Arlington

I went to this store a while ago. The representative named Chris (forgot this last name) and his manager were very supportive. They gave me maybe the most thorough explanation of the features and specifics of the cars and were very patient. Although I didn’t buy a car (due to my health problem) I was very impressed with their service. So I would like to honor their professionalism here.

This past week, my husband and I visited Porsche of Arlington. An Englishman named Chris Dunham greeted us and helped us to narrow down our interests with the vehicles. He is a good listener, is extremely patient (especially since my husband and I have different preferences with the vehicle options), is very knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor, and is not pushy at all. He is EXACTLY the type of salesman that we want to work with. (Heck, we’d even love to hang out with him because he’s so personable!). I’d give five stars plus for him!
But then the managers got involved. The sales and trade-​in amounts changed quickly during our visit. One minute they said, «the most we can offer you for your trade in is…» and then they turned around and offered a higher amount when we were about to leave… If they really wanted to make a sale, the managers would give us their best trade-​in offer to begin with.
Also, if we are going to spend a lot of money on a car, it should have all the options we want. When we explained that the cars they showed us didn’t have the options we wanted, Sammy (the head manager) said that he would look at their inventory. When he walked away, we heard him say, ‘Jeesh!’ with exasperation. Not the sort of behavior we’d expect from someone in charge.
Debating on whether we’d like to give Porsche of Arlington our business. We’ll go back just to work with Chris, but dread the idea of dealing with the sales managers. Perhaps Chris can teach the managers about great customer service.

Great experience with Ben, Ryan and Nasir. Excellent entertainment provided by the in house Brit Chris. Thanks to Nasir and Ryan for the extra hours of effort. We will be back for future purchases. It was a pleasure working with Victor.

Update: The new general manager researched all of the issues we were having and got to the bottom of all of the miscues from the previous staff. He stayed in contact with us making sure everything was right until we received our plates. A Big Thanks to Nasir!

Very poor experience with this Dealership. We spent all day Sunday to put together a deal on a car we selected before they opened most of it was spent just sitting waiting for the «finance manager.» After several months we still don’t have the license plates and no one has taken responsibility to get the situation rectified. The finance manager to no surprise no longer works there. I would not recommend spending any money with them there are too many other places to buy a car where you are treated with respect and great service after the sale.

I should start by saying that I live approximately 4 hours away from the dealership but was looking for a specific Certified Pre Owned car with the right options and Arlington had it. I found the car online and researched it extensively. I spent a fair amount of time on the phone with Reggie, one of the sales associates, who was outstanding and easy to deal with.
When it came time to buy the car, I called 5 days ahead and stated that I was driving in on Friday and to have the car and all of the paperwork ready to go. I gave Regggie all of my information on how to title the car and my personal information. I called and confirmed again on Wednesday that I was coming in on Friday. When Friday came, I called in the morning to ensure that everything was on schedule with the dealership. I was assured that all was good. I called and spoke to the manager, Victor, before leaving and again asked to have all of the paperwork ready to go as I was not financing the car and had already given my information to Reggie earlier in the week to make it a seamless process.
I even called when I was ½ way there. Each and every time, being assured that everything was on schedule, that the care was ready to go and they were awaiting my arrival. I know this seems excessive but I was planning on driving back the same day.
I arrived at the dealership at 6pm and Reggie was not there that day due to a personal issue which is fine. The manager sent the most junior member of the sales team to show me the car and walk me through the options on the car which was semi-​understandable but I had already discussed and researched the vehicle thoroughly. In fact, as this junior salesman was trying to explain the options, I was correcting him as he was very uninformed about this car and the options that Porsche even offers. This was disconcerting to say the least. I attempted on multiple occasions to explain to the salesman that I know more about this specific car than he does and that I just want to fill out the forms and get on my way.
We went to take the car for a test drive. As soon as the car was turned on, the warning for low tire pressure came on so it was apparent that nobody had this car ready in any way despite what was assured. Additionally, the battery (hybrid model) had not been charged at all. Another red flag.
After 3 hours of being at the dealership, I was still at the salesman’s desk filling out the paperwork that was NOT even started. Not even my name on anything. My patience was running short as I had taken every step possible to ensure that I was ready to go. I asked that the car at least be filled with gas before leaving. This also was not done until I finally demanded it after asking to have it done 3 times.
At 11pm that night, I’m still at the dealership doing paperwork with the finance manager who electronically filled out the exact same paperwork that I had done by hand with the salesman.
At MIDNIGHT, i finally left the dealership but was told that I had to return tomorrow to finish one final aspect so I ended up staying local that night. This was now beyond frustrating… until I arrived back at the dealership Saturday morning at the direction of the sales manager. When I drove back to the dealership the next morning, they realized that the remaining item that needed done couldn’t be done on a Saturday. More wasted time and more frustration.
After it was all said and done, the sales manager did give me a voucher to get my car detailed on the dealership sometime in the upcoming year. I appreciated the effort but it did not make up for the poor customer service I received from this dealership. I would have been more impressed with a true, sincere apology but never did receive one from anyone.
You would think that a high end dealership would be more customer focused but this was the worst car buying experience I have had at any dealership.
UPDATE: After about a month of ownership, the Porsche is great. I still have yet to have anyone from Porsche or the dealership contact me to ensure my experience was adequate. I’ve had this from other German dealerships (Audi and BMW).

The service is always brisk and professional– not that much is required
Reggie in sales has been doing this awhile and is able to navigate the many options to create a well designed ride
The price is well the price for these cars but Reggie was able to create a very reasonable deal

Dual review.
Sales good — they are selling you a vehicle and went out of their way to make the transaction happen.
Post-​sales — absolutely terrible. The place projects a strong disinterested once the money moves; it feels like unless you are an NBA star, diplomat, or other notable, you are not important to them; the consistent poor post-​sales experience, such as service, and it will be at management levels as well, will sour you quickly and really ruin your day (s) — don’t under-​estimate the ability for this to corrode your goodwill and patience.
My advice, if you find your dream car here, then work with Mike in Sales — recommended highly; otherwise take your money to Silver Springs for the purchase and for any post-​sales work which is the relationship you really want.
You may think Porsche = no problems and hence no need to revisit once purchased — this is a false sense of finality to the relationship, you will need to revisit for a variety of reasons: standard servicing, accidents, detail work, weird intermittent issues, questions, upgrades, etc.
Our last experience with the service department and the service manager was appalling and insulting — write me if you want to know details b/​c we are straight shooters and this was, well, what you would expect from a two-​bit garage in the middle of nowhere.
BOTTOM LINE: I very much encourage you to think hard about the long term relationship you will need to have with this type of vehicle; it sucks to travel further, but like with other important services, would you decide on distance alone?

I have to acknowledge that the management did take this review seriously and tried to make amends. For that I am revising this review up a star for their immediate involvement, though late, and their attempted resolution.

Very disappointed with how this Porsche dealer does business!
I currently have 2015 GT3 and wanted to buy a new GT4 from them. I called and dealt with Antuan who was very helpful at first but later on just started ignoring me.
They wouldn’t take my order for some unknown reason and won’t reply to me at all.

I came here with my boyfriend contemplating between the Cayenne and Panamera… normally when coming to a dealership their meeting you in the lot to welcome/​introduce themselves to you, not here. We even walked around the showroom looking at the different models and all though we saw many associates no one once even greeted us or said someone will be with you shortly. The receptionist at the front looked me square in the face and just walked by w/​o a word. Another couple was finally able to flag an associate down who rudely told them there was no telling when he would get to them, and rudely handed them a card and said something to the effect of call me later. It’s quite clear they don’t value their clients or potential clients at this location, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere;we will.

We came in on a whim and Ben was friendly and cordial from the beginning. Despite being in our gym clothes he took us just as seriously as we walked in after work. Rare and important quality in a person.
He was so knowledgable about every vehicle, he’s an enthusiast which is who you want to work with when purchasing such a fantastic vehicle. He’s energetic yet patient– my boyfriend had about a million questions. Our phone died, he found a charger. We got hungry, there was food recently catered to Porsche that was offered to us. It’s these tiny service focused actions that turned what can be a stressful trade in and purchase of a car to an enjoyable, fact filled experience. We can’t wait to get our next vehicle through Ben!
Onto the facilities — great new showroom! Same location of an older Porsche dealership but now it’s a Rosenthal owned location. It’s your standard floor to (3 story) ceiling windows, squeaky clean floors, complimentary amenities such as newspapers, magazines, coffee, tea, water, food when available, wifi, and I’m sure a few others I missed.
We found an amazing AMG Mercedes through this dealership, we can’t wait to come back and get another!

I live in New Jersey and have shopped for the perfect Panamera all over the east coast. I finally found what seemed to be a nice car with low miles and still under factory warranty. I called Porsche of Arlington and a very nice salesperson named Alex Pardo answered the phone. We have a pleasant conversation and I asked Alex to personally check the car out. He went out and took 3 videos of the car and assured me that it was in great shape. I decided to go to Virginia and Alex was 100% correct the car was immaculate. Thanks to Alex and Kevin Shin I now own my favorite car. These guys are GREAT!

My review is based upon my experiences with PoA when buying a pre-​owned Audi Q7. I was initially led to their dealership through a car buying service. I was pre-​approved for a loan in excess of the value of the cars that I was looking to buy.
1. My point of contact from the buying service was Kevin Shin, when I arrived to the dealership Kevin briefly welcomed me to the dealership and quickly gave me to another salesman, Nicholas Segedi.
2. Nicholas Segedi is a younger salesman, but wise beyond his years. He was attentive and listened to the needs of the customer. I had submitted interest in the Audi, but stated that I was actually looking at the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and MB GL350. They had the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 on the lot. We grabbed the keys and took both for a test drive and it was clear to me that the Q7 was better for our needs.
3. Nicholas allowed me to drive the Q7 home for an extended test drive, since my wife would be driving the car and allowed her to drive the car back to the dealership where we quickly switched to the X5 for a back to back comparison. After the comparison, we decided that we would be interested in the Q7.
4. Here is where we went from 5 stars to 4 stars. I had 5 star treatment from Nick, but when the sales managers got involved it quickly deteriorated. This was late on a Friday night and right when the dealership closed, (8pm). We needed to get home to get the family dinner and wanted to come back on Sunday, but were pressured by Victor to make the sale before we left the building. The sales techniques that they were using for «old school» pressure tactics. For example, «What price would it take for you to buy this car tonight?» My response, «I would really like to go home right now and get our kids some dinner, discuss it among ourselves and then come back on Sunday.» Dealers response. «Oh, do you need some time, we will leave you alone for a few minutes to discuss it amongst yourselves.» Everyone leaves my wife and I at the desk alone. Meanwhile, I can’t even leave because they have the keys to my car! After re-​stating the fact that I wanted to go home and do some more research and come back on Sunday, I was told that Saturday is their busiest day and that the car would probably be gone by the time I got back on Sunday. Really… you need to re-​train your sales manager in what the modern sales tactics are in the car business. Enter the general manager, who introduces himself and reiterates that he would like to earn our business tonight, and that was their goal. Again, old school pressure tactics. Come on, you can do better. All of this, because they are not good at reading their customers. They have no idea of what tactics would work with me, because they were not the one who had been dealing with me the whole day.
5. If they had empowered their salesman, Nick, with the authority to negotiate the price down to certain levels, and gave him the information about what the dealership has in the car and to ensure that a certain profit level was maintained, Nick would have been much more effective at moving the car than the sales manager or general manager. Nick understood that high pressure sales tactics would not work with me, and a more numbers based approach would have been better. The average customer coming into the dealership has a lot more tools available to them than in the past with Kelly Blue Book, online CarFax reports, internet research tools, crash test ratings, reliability ratings, online recalls, etc… We also know and understand that the dealership needs to make a profit in order to stay in business. If someone would have showed me the numbers about how much the dealership had in the car and the minimum profit that they were willing to live with, the negotiation would have gone quickly and less annoying.
6. In the end, we decided to go with the car, due to limited availability of the car, and a fair market price for the car. However, the sale was almost lost due to high pressure sales tactics. There are too many other options available that don’t employ old school car business high pressure tactics.
7. Financing… Ok, i had a pre-​approved loan through USAA, but I still had to submit a credit report with the dealership, which seems insane since I was pre-​approved, in addition I had to sign a Privacy agreement letter allowing the dealership to give my personal information to companies that would be marketing to me. I don’t agree with signing these two required documents (I was told that they would be required to complete the sale, after I refused to sign them). However, a bright spot was Tony who was very congenial and pleasant. He was able to beat my APR by ½ percent, saving over a thousand dollars on the life of the loan. In addition, he was both willing and able to explain some other things related to finance, but not the loan. Nick and Tony could teach the dealership about how to treat customers!

I have an older 996. I was impressed with the service team. They work WITH clients to find a reasonable high quality repair solution. My 996 is running so well. Go there if you want the best resolution.

Terrible experiences here. My husband has a Porsche Cayenne and has taken it to this dealership several times for warranty work and other service. Every single time it is a debacle.
I have gone to pick it up a couple of times (I work nearby) and the service dept staff leaves a lot to be desired. They barely acknowledge that a customer is there and are very unpleasant. Add to that, every time the car goes in we triple the time estimate they give us. A few days always becomes at least a week to 10 days. A week becomes three. I would expect this from a non Porsche dealer service place, but they should be experts.
The last time I was there I overhead a service person telling a woman she needed particular tires for her car and that tires from other vendors would not be highly rated enough. They just seem shady. I am generally a trusting person.
I have owned three Mercedes SUVs and each was serviced at Euromotors so I am familiar with what service in a high end dealership should look like. Euro makes these guys look like a pinto dealership.
FOLLOWUP — After being contacted because of this Unilocal review, my husband called to try one last time. Again, he was basically left with a very dismissive attitude. We have decided to take our car to another porsche dealer in the area. HOPING for a much better experience.

Very friendly and helpful, they took time to show us many different cars, they break down numbers and help with financing.

Sales is a FRAUD !!!, which is headed by Kevin and Victor (Sales and financing managers)! Before I came to the dealer, I called and asked if they have what I looking for. I was searching for new Porsche cayenne brown (mahogany) color, Gas or diesel (I was not sure) … In the phone they told me That they have a biggest inventory in Virginia. But it turns out that they had no cars there at all!!!(And I was ONLY ONE costumer in the showroom for all seven hours be there!)
These ppl tried to scam me by pulling my credit and asking for cash down before I even ordered the car!?! 40k$ down now and the car will be only in December (No Guarantee .)
Overall this was the worst experience of my life !!!

I purchased a used car here back in January. The dealership failed us in several ways.
1 — David «Tex» Robinson was a hassle to work with. Aside from the typical salesman «vibe», he clearly attempted to misdirect us a few times. The most prominent was when he said he’d talk to his manager about a price, and then stood behind a car instead. Seriously, dude? More minor points are regarding cosmetic repairs that they claimed would be handled by a sister dealership, and then throwing that out the window. Is it too much to ask for, for a salesman to be up front about what you’re getting? I hope this guy gets fired, I shouldn’t have to work with a slime ball to give someone my money.
2 — I got a call in telling me that my tags had arrived. I went in– no tags could be found. I waited a couple more weeks, right up until my temp tags were about to expire, and then called in to get a status, and believe it or not, NOTHING had changed. They were able to rush a tag in (somehow), and they got me set up the day my temp tag expired. This was inconvenient because I don’t live near the dealership.
3 — My car didn’t come with a spare tire, or a jack stand. I probably should have checked these things, but I guess I never thought they would be missing from a vehicle I purchased at a dealership. You live you learn. I’m in the process of working with the used car sales manager about this, but it’s very unlikely that they’ll do anything about it. I’ll update the review if anything changes.
They have damn good coffee though. I’ll give them that.

I came into the dealership yesterday to look at and talk about a pre-​owned Porsche 911. I walked in and told them what I was looking for. The gentleman went into an office, talked to somebody, and came back to tell me somebody would be right with me. Then he took a family outside to look at a car.
At this point, I am the ONLY customer inside the showroom. There is a lady at the front desk, and that’s it. I wait. I wait some more. I read a magazine and continue waiting. The lady at the front desk is now on the phone. After about 15 minutes, I’ve had just about enough and simply leave.
If I’m going to spend $ 100,000 on a car and this is the level of customer service I am going to get, then to hell with you. I’ll take my business to a different Porsche dealer. Seriously, this dealer couldn’t even send somebody to talk to me in 15 minutes when I am the only person in the showroom? Pathetic.
