NW Dance and Acro offers classes for casual and advanced dancers in acro, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, silk ribbons, and tap, in a positive and nurturing atmosphere. Through our well-​rounded and highly skilled instructors, our focus is on strong technique, while promoting the love of dance in our students. Led by studio owner/​director Ms. Augga Hawkins, our dancers have enjoyed opportunities to perform regionally, nationally, and internationally, on stage as well as on television.

History

Established in 2007.

Northwest Dance and Acro opened its doors in a small building across from the Arlington airport in 2007. Since then, the studio has grown and flourished and relocated to its larger location in the heart of Smokey Point which gives dancers the room to move more freely and allows space for exciting new training equipment.

Meet the Business Owner

Augga H.

Business Owner

Augga Hawkins is a professional dancer and choreographer originally from Beijing, China. She was selected at the age of 12 to train full-​time at the Central University of Nationalities. In her seven years at the University, Augga trained extensively in ballet, acrobatics, Chinese ethnic minority dancing, jazz, lyrical and international dancing. Augga graduated in the top of her class and was selected to be the lead dancer of one of the most prestigious dance companies in China. As lead dancer of the company, Augga performed for many world leaders, including President Reagan, Canadian Premier Trudeau, and her own country’s vice chairman Deng Xiaoping.

After moving to the United States, Augga continued to pursue her love of dance through teaching and choreographing for several prestigious dance organizations, including Brigham Young University, before opening her own studio. Her choreography and trained dancers have won countless awards and recognition.
