Cool place! The ice cream was expensive though. More of a special occasion spot. The ice cream with a warm chocolate chip cookie is the best!

This is an updated review. Since it’s the summer the store staffs three instead of two servers and they are working hard for their money due to the never ending line of customers. Despite the workload the places keeps up with quality and service. This time I ordered a brownie and a cookie sundae. Both were great. I would come here again.

Interesting concept. Add liquid nitrogen into the ingredients for a quick freeze. It creates a creamier consistency. It is a good show watching your dessert ooze out. I really like the sampler platter. 6 flavors for a reasonable price. You would need to go with a group. Only downside of ice cream made to order is you have to wait to get it, so lines can back up.

Love the concept and location. Limited number of flavors but there is prob at least 1 for everyone. Good size for the price. Staff is great and place is clean.

3.5 stars. First time here. unique experience since the ice cream is made to order and quick freeze via liquid nitrogen. However they have limited flavors like around 5 or 6, so if you like 1001 flavors to pick from you might be disappointed. Price wise you pay more for the experience. Nice staffs.

Handcrafted in front of each guest, Nicecream combines liquid nitrogen with fresh ingredients and BAM! Your dessert is served! Offering six flavors to choose from, don’t hesitate to ask for a sample, the staff is very friendly and willing to make sure you get the right flavor. The flavors offered are truly unique! Rich and creamy, the quality is definitely top notch. I picked the graham cracker flavor and it was delicious! They also offer other desserts, a vegan option, and coffee!
Nitrogen ice cream is a big thing back home, so I was pretty familiar with the concept already. The prices here are higher, which totally surprised me and is the reason I knocked down a star. Back home I get a similar serving with toppings and a cone for the same price of a small here. So, that’s my only reason for not giving it the full five stars.
Overall, Nicecream is a great treat to get if you’re looking to satisfy that sweet tooth in the Clarendon area.

Great experience and awesome flavors! Try the speculus ice eeam if they have it. My only complaint is the wait but considering they make the icecream in front of you in mixers with liquid nitrogen the show it’s clearly all about the show
I do wish the seating area was a little larger.

I feel as if I was way too hyped up for this place. It’s such an interesting and fresh concept to enter the area that it definitely grabbed my instant attention. Don’t set unrealistic expectations like I did. I would say go into the shop with a lower expectation. Don’t expect a crazy show. If you do that, you will definitely enjoy this spot.
The ice cream is made in stainless steel bowls that are attached to kitchenmaid mixers. They combine all the ingredients into the bowls and slowly add the nitrogen ice. The nitrogen ice instantly freeze the ingredients making a creamy ice cream. I will tell you this, I was pretty surprised at how creamy the ice cream turned out. For some reason I expected the ice cream to be on the icy and watery side. However, the ice cream had a thick and dense consistency. They offer local and seasonal flavors. Thus, their flavors change throughout the day/​week.
My favorite flavor so far is the lavender honey. It has a subtle floral note with a sweet buttery flavor. The honey is not overwhelming and it makes the flavor unique between each bite.

I feel like the concept is really cool and exciting, but the ice cream is just okay. Their ice cream is really rich and creamy and they have a lot of really delicious flavors, but I don’t know if it was worth it to go out of our way to try this place.
I tried the lavender and honey flavor and the nutella. In the lavender honey, they put in real lavender flakes which makes the lavender taste really stand out. The nutella was really creamy and tasted like scoops of nutella that was cold:)
It’s a fun place to go and experience and their ice cream is okay.

The concept is really cool and the ice cream is delicious. I didn’t like the Nutella flavor but the banana ice cream was so good! They use fresh bananas which makes all the difference. The shop is small but definitely something to try!

I got the banana and nutella. The banana ice cream was made with real bananas and was delicious. The nutella wasn’t that great, and I wouldn’t get it again.

The liquid nitrogen part was intriguing! The flavors they offer are interesting too. Their staff was friendly and helpful. 5 stars for the overall experience.

I’ve been wanting to try the ice cream at nicecream factory for awhile. I do enjoy ice cream and ice cream made with liquid nitrogen sounded intriguing to me. While running errands in Clarendon (I must be getting old if I say I’m running errands in Clarendon) we decided to stop at Nicecream factory for dessert.
They have different flavors to choose from and a monthly flavor as well. They also have different sizes, ice cream desserts, and coffee drinks to choose from. My husband and I decided that we would each get on two scoops to try different flavors. He chose the nutella and salted caramel while I chose the salted caramel and honey lavender (the flavor of the month). Everything is made to order and I enjoyed watching it being made. Our orders came out relatively quickly. I was pleasantly surprised with how creamy the ice cream tasted. The salted caramel was on point; just the right balance of sweet and salty. Paired with their house made caramel– yum! The honey lavender was very flavorful– I could definitely taste the lavender and the honey added a good amount of sweetness.
The ice cream is a little pricey for the size. Everyone was friendly and the environment was relaxed and fun.

Nice little ice cream shop in the heart of Clarendon. We decided to try some ice cream made with liquid nitrogen on the spot. We ordered the Bee My Honey (lavender and honey) flavor and it did not disappoint! The ice cream was silky smooth, dense, and creamy. The flavor of lavender and honey made the ice cream taste like a delicious lavender milk tea. Yum.
They have tons of other cool stuff on their menu, I’d totally come back here to try their other flavors. They serve nutella hot chocolate, it sounds super delicious even though I’m not a big chocolate fan.
There is street parking in Clarendon, sometimes difficult to find. You can always park at parking garages in Clarendon as well.

I had been to this place many times with friends but never actually tried anything. Today I decided to see what all the hype was and I was not disappointed. I personally am not a big fan of ice cream, but this place has given me a new liking for ice cream. The concept of nitrogen made ice cream is really cool also.
I had gotten the Salted Caramel. The ice cream was not overly sweetened and the Caramel was well blended into the ice cream. The ice cream felt lighter than the ice cream I was used to from the grocery store. It is a little pricey compared to other stores but well worth it.
I would highly recommend trying this place. The flavors they offer are creative and they change monthly. The staff is very polite and patient when customers ask for samples. I will definitely be returning to try other new flavors!

Pumpkin Spice, Coffee, Raspberry Lemon, Vanilla Bean — pretty much any of the flavors are always spot on. I can’t believe there are some people that actually think they could get something better in the grocery store?! This is made fresh right in front of you!
I can understand about the pricing, but it is made with liquid nitrogen — I can imagine that is where most of their costs go.
Give it a chance — I’ve always had fantastic experiences and I’ve been there a lot. Their special season flavors have never disappointed me — Always lovely and creamy ice cream.

Mr D and I tried the candied walnut and dark chocolate flavors. We were really impressed by the smooth texture of the ice creams, and the depth of flavor in both varieties. I hope to come back again.
Parking Tip: Trader Joes, just a few blocks away, offers 90 minute validation with purchase. Stop at TJ’s, buy your wine, validate your parking, and go eat ice cream!

Pretty cool ice cream joint since they make your ice cream on the spot once you order it. They freeze your ice cream with nitrogen which definitely makes it not melt as quick. We got the white chocolate peanut butter which was very creamy and full of peanut butter goodness. However, I don’t see much of a difference in taste between this ice cream and one you would buy from Ben and jerrys. But it is cool to see the process so it is worthy to swing by at least once!

I’d rather buy ice cream from the grocery store. There are plenty of places to get better-​tasting ice cream, so why waste money here?

No doubt a cool concept, and definitely worth a visit for the experience if nothing else. The ice cream itself is nothing out of this world though, and relatively overpriced (at least once the novelty of the experience wears off — which for most it probably will after the first or second visit). That’s not to say the ice cream isn’t good — it’s pretty satisfying, just not the best I’ve had (granted, I may eat a bit too much ice cream for my own good, so that could change things heh). Also the flavors tend to be unique, which is a nice perk.
I’ve had their nutella ice cream in the past and found it to be much too rich to eat an entire serving of in one sitting (despite loving chocolate/​nutella, I was pretty much done a couple of bites in — but then again have had friends really like it, so depends on your tolerance I suppose). The dark chocolate is pretty good (and truly dark, which is a plus!), though the apple pie flavor is probably my favorite so far — actually really tastes like the real thing! That said, if given a choice, I’d probably still pick a good ol’ pint of Ben & Jerry’s over this on most occasions.

LOVED IT! The ice cream is made with nitrogen which makes it very cool to observe as smoke appears. The ice cream is also VERY soft yet rich and is why I loved it.
Parking could be difficult to find, so park at Whole Foods and walk over since they are minutes apart.

Nice cream and I started our love affair in July of this year, never in my life have I had such amazingly delicious and fresh ice cream. I love bringing people here so they can experience the greatness of this place. They tend to be on the busy side but it’s worth it.

I’m such a sucker for ice cream shops. Of course Nicecream was bookmarked on my list of places to try, finally had the chance to stop by here after meeting up with a friend for dinner at Cava. Love the concept and the ice cream was delicious, but there wasn’t anything special to make it four stars. The ice cream is also a bit pricey for the portion, it’s around $ 6 for a small cup. I ordered the ice cold brew coffee to share with my boyfriend. My friend got the affogato with vanilla ice cream. I definitely should’ve gotten this with my ice cold brew coffee, double the caffeine!
Cozy cute establishment, not much seating available. Recommend trying this place atleast once, it’s a good place to catch up with an old friend if you’re in the area or just grab the ice cream to go!

Yum yum! A good friend of mine had amazing things to say about Nicecream Factory in Clarendon so I stopped by briefly recently. I was really fascinated by their cream making machines exuding chilled air. Very cool! The service was great and they have some very innovative seasonal flavors. I decided to go with the pumpkin spice ice cream. To be honest, I didn’t like this flavor, but I don’t think it’s any fault of theirs. I should have tried it before ordering it! I could tell, though, that the ice cream was of high quality. I would certainly visit again and try a flavor I do like in the future! I definitely recommend this place!

Maybe I’m a huge hypebeast, but I love the concept of nitrogen-​made ice cream! The flavors are always changing up and are very unique– Nutella cold-​brew coffee, peach green tea, apple pie, and so much more. The only thing is you can only sample flavors if someone ordered it because the ice cream is made to order. Their ice-​cream-​making method allows for the consistency to be creamy, yet stays together.
They also offer coffee, ice cream sandwiches, cookies, etc. You can also take home pints!
The service has always been consistently friendly and informative.
Definitely worth a visit when in the Clarendon area!

So good! The use of liquid nitrogen to make the ice cream on the spot really makes a difference in the texture and taste of the ice cream. So smooth, creamy and airy. Almost like a mix between gelato and soft serve but better. I got the lemony jenny and peachy keen and they were both refreshing and flavorful. Next time I wanna try the vanilla bean with espresso.
Staff was very friendly and you can taste any flavor you like. Seeing the ice cream being made was very interesting and fun to watch.

I was super interested in this cause liquid nitrogen is awesome and the concept of using it to make ice cream is pretty nifty and refreshing.
My friend and I made our way into this place today to give it a try. There’s a total of 6 flavors, this month’s specialty flavor is peachy keen I believe, and the other flavors rotate daily. I really wanted to try strawberry basil but it wasn’t on their menu today): So I went with peachy keen while my friend went with key lime pie. The server was really nice, we came at an off hour time so there were no lines, and she let us try out any flavors that we wanted before settling on our flavor!
Ingredients are simple, and then fused with a bit of liquid nitrogen and you get ice cream!
It was so creamy, probably creamy than gelato. It was a bit unexpected but somehow my taste buds didn’t enjoy the creaminess too much. Plus it seemed to melt quick and wasn’t cold enough for me. The flavor was great, tasted just like peaches. And the key lime pie was refreshing and tart, just like, well… limes.
This place is a bit overpriced but that’s what you get a little entertainment out of it.
It’s definitely worth coming for the experience, not sure if I would make the trip out just for Nicecream though.

This place found a niche– ice cream made fresh with liquid nitrogen while you wait! The shop is a decent size with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff let you sample whichever artisan flavors you would like– don’t work, they have vanilla bean and a suped-​up dark chocolate for the traditionalists.
After you choose your flavor (honey lavender for me), the ingredients are added to a stand mixer and voilà, the creamiest, smoothest ice cream you will ever put in your mouth is ready. Also, it melts noticing more slowly, so you can enjoy it even longer.

I’ve been meaning to come here to try out the nitrogen ice cream bc you know, who doesn’t like novelty ways of making ice cream. The ice cream was absolutely creamy and so flavorful. The only thing I wasn’t too keen on were the limited number of ice cream flavor options. I could understand why since ice cream were made in the KitchenAid mixer with nitrogen tubes attached to each and they only have a select few of those.
Only a few ingredients go into making the ice cream and they make it on the spot so you know it’s fresh and good.
I’d come back again if I’m in the area for a little sweet pick me up on a hot summer day. Enjoy!

Interesting take on the timeless classic of Ice cream. The Nicecream Factory makes your ice to order (well, kinda) using fresh ingredients and then mixes it, with liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze the concotion into a delicious froze treat. The theatrics of the smoking bowl with the Nice cream make for a spectacular and interesting show. the ice cream is good but not quite as delicious as the high end ice cream stores aka Hagen Daaz, Ben and Jerry’s etc.
Service was good but the wait can be long on beautiful summer evenings.

An amazing experience and and incredible product!!! Because servings are made on the spot, each one requires just a few ingredients. Normally, ice cream needs gums, egg yolks or other stabilizers and emulsifiers to keep it frozen on its months-​long journey from manufacturer to distributor to store to your home freezer.
The mint chip, for example, contains just organic cream and milk, fresh mint leaves, local premium chocolate and a dash of salt. The first lick is like biting into a creamy mint leaf. The texture is like nothing I have ever tasted.

Street parking or parking in a garage is okay! You have to pay for parking though.

I don’t know how sanitary it is to keep the ice cream in the mixer and to add nitrogen when a customer comes. It’s also not as icy or cold :(
The ice cream was good but I think I’d stick with the less popular ones. I only say that cus I actually saw them take out the strawberry mix and add it to the mixer and add the nitrogen and the strawberry stayed cold for a long time. The Nutella and salted dark chocolate (?) melted a lot quicker. The strawberry was really good! I’d go again to try other flavors.
This place can get really busy cus when we first went inside it wasn’t as busy but about 20−30mins later the line went out the door.
Space is a bit tiny but a good size for the place. There’s seating outside as well

Nicecream was definitely a throw back to my Science Fair days when I got to arbitrarily freeze fruits in liquid nitrogen, except that their end product is edible ice cream versus my smashed fruits! It’s definitely an entertainment factor to see the vapors ooze out of the Kitchenaid stands while your just in time ice cream is being made. The taste of the ice cream was okay (I had the spiced vanilla and my friend got the chocolate with sea salt), and had the consistency of gelato; price was a little high but I was attribute the surcharge to the «entertainment» factor. There were only 4 flavors, and I read on other reviews that it rotates daily, so don’t expect a wide variety here.
The place is definitely worth a visit, but be warned that it’s cozy, so depending on how many people are there, it can get a bit cramped.

First time trying ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Very cool! I love that each cup is made to order, so you can watch your ice cream being created. They also use local ingredients. The final product is a creamy, smooth, light, not too sweet, natural flavored cup of goodness. Excellent consistency and flavor.
The cashier was sweet and patient as we figured out what we wanted. The ladies creating the ice cream masterpieces were wonderful. They sell pints too but you will have to pre-​order that. They had about six flavors the day we visited. We tried Honey Lavender, Lemony Jenny, Nutella, and Dark Chocolate Sea Salt. They were all so delicious. Quality ingredients are definitely used. Restrooms are in the back. They have a little table in the corner with water, cups, napkins, sugar, lids, etc.
Can’t wait to come back and try more flavors.

I’ve had Nicecream bookmarked on my places to try for awhile, so I’m glad I finally had a chance to try it and now I can’t wait to go back. I liked their late hours as my friend and I stopped in after checking out one of the nearby Irish pubs for St. Patrick’s Day.
We both got the Nicecream sandwiches. I got mine with the caramel pretzel flavor and my friend got the vanilla bean. While the ice cream sandwiches were good, the cookie flavor tended to overpower the delicious ice cream flavors. We ended up eating the ice cream out of our cookies with a spoon so we could truly taste the flavors, which were so good, I loved the caramel pretzel and already can’t wait to go back and order it again. The chocolate chip cookies were good and we ended up taking the rest of our cookies home and they were still tasty the next day. I wish I had known that for the small size, 2 scoops, you can actually get two different flavors of ice cream because that definitely would have swayed me toward getting a dish of ice cream. Now I know for next time because there are so many other flavors I want to try on my next visit.
Watching them make the ice cream was fun and I was surprised at how incredibly quick the whole process was. I saw someone mentioned in their review they had the Nutella flavor and given how much I love Nutella, I hope that makes a return to the menu soon!
